Steven King of Iowa claims that a woman cannot become pregnant if raped against her will and equates rape to dog fights: a sport. He is supported by the Republican Party and has no clue about abortion or a woman’s right to self-determination. The Republican Party wants to broaden the 14th amendment to include the fetus as a person.

The US Supreme Court 2000 to the present has ruled consistently in favor of corporations and lobbyists who affect legislation and life, and equally attack citizen rights and liberties. The five “conservative” on the court are all activists and play the role of legislators rather than judges. The Roberts Court is signalling the death knell for the USA and personal freedoms–as no one is willing to act to save democracy in the USA.

State legislators have been racing to make abortion illegal since Republicans swept into the house and senate in numerous states. Misogynism became key with the elevation of religion above individual choice, and when women fired back at the Republican assault on women, they women were silenced, degraded, and punished in the name of a loving god. How did religion change the USA from a democracy into a theocratic plutocracy in Michigan, Oklahoma, and elsewhere?
