First Thanksgiving…Myth and Reality

In the summer of 1637, an armed force of English Puritans led an attack on the fortified Pequot village of Mystic in Connecticut, resulting in the deaths of around 500 Native American men, women, and children, though some estimate the numbers were higher.1 A pre-dawn attack on Mystic Fort that left 500 adults and children of the Pequot tribe dead, the Pequot Massacre (or the “Mystic Massacre”)2 was the first defeat of the Pequot people by the English in the Pequot War, a three-year war instigated by the Puritans to seize the tribe’s traditional land.3

QAnon at the riot

The cult-like conspiracy system and conservative Christianity are influencing one another and creating potentially violent fanatics under the stress of the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting economic fallout.  Both movements are angry and bitter over former president Donald Trump’s election loss —

QAnon at the riot

Many white Christian evangelicals were QAnon followers at the Jan 6 riots shouting for the death of Mike Pence

which they believe was fraudulent. “Older members would ignore Black Lives Matter and instead say we had to focus on sex trafficking,” said Jared Stacy, who led a Southern Baptist church in Virginia until recently moving to Scotland with his family. “It’s like 2020 just exposed so many undercurrents that were already there and growing...

1692 Massachusetts Christian Puritans saw the Devil everywhere

1692 Massachusetts Christian Puritans saw the Devil everywhere

Freedom of religion is a centuries-old expression. In most cases freedom of religion does not exist. It is not accepted by SCOTUS or most courts or jurists. Freedom of Speech, Responsibility and Bloodshed

Freedom of speech comes with responsibility of what is said and whether or not it is true. Because of a biased movie (Innocence of Muslims), the world of Islam broke into flames, fanned by a Florida preacher and a former movie producer--neither gifted with languages nor knowledge of texts. Religion has always been the catalyst for wars, and religious leaders the butchers from the beginning of time to this day.Read More

The US Supreme Court 2000 to the present has ruled consistently in favor of corporations and lobbyists who affect legislation and life, and equally attack citizen rights and liberties. The five "conservative" on the court are all activists and play the role of legislators rather than judges. The Roberts Court is signalling the death knell for the USA and personal freedoms--as no one is willing to act to save democracy in the USA.Read More
