Freedom of speech, thought, association, and other rights taken for granted in the emerging new nation in 1776 that became the United States of [North] America, was quite innovative.  Such liberties were frequently discussed by eighteenth century philosophers, but few saw their ideals formalized into legislation or law.  Fewer thinkers and fewer common people experienced the celebrations of liberty.  Even the great philosophé François-Marie d’Arouet (1694–1778), better known by his nom de plume Voltaire (a prolific writer, philosopher, poet and pamphletist, and the preeminent figure of the age now called the eighteenth-century French Enlightenment), experienced the wrath of the self-righteous in state and church and suffered in prisons for his thoughts, writings (wrote more than 20,000 letters and more than 2,000 books and pamphlets), and speeches.

Fluent in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, English and French, the philosophé spared no one his verbal or written attacks on their self-centered posturing or assumptions of knowledge that he found to be ill-witted and illiterate even among the educated. Voltaire was raw in his brittle condemnation of injustice that was rampant during the abusive reign of Louis XIV, clerical abuses, prejudice on all grounds especially by the pompous Roman Catholic clergy (even though he graduated from a Jesuit college and remained close friends with Jesuit priests throughout his lifetime; his considerations are topicalized in Pomeau, René (1974). Voltaire struck out with razor-sharp wit against the frantic fanaticism of evangelical extremists both among Protestant groups as well as within the Roman Catholic fold.  Repulsed by what he saw within the folds of rituals and rites, Voltaire rejected formalized religion.  The churches that cluttered the skyline with their steeples and towers Voltaire saw as monsterous monuments to superstitious and irrational with its deification or canonization of ancient gods and goddesses as saints.

Along with other enlightened thinkers, including Benjamine Franklin, they questioned and ridiculed those invoking a plethora of patently absurd artifacts as belonging to “virgins”–including the original “virgin” who were directly hailed as being symbolic of the young girl Miriam who transevolving christianos and chrestianos ultimately would define as the mortal mother of Jesus allegedly free from any original sin (the Immaculate Conception) plagiarized from Egyptian theology who the priests of Isis defined as being the Mother of Our Lord (Θεοτοκος).  Christian catechisms after the fourth century CE initiated the transmogrification of this Egyptian goddess into Mary who was hailed as the Mother of God.

Voltaire was a deist, like Thomas Jefferson who found that religion had transformed good into evil, benefactors into slave owners (of which he was one), and mercy into cruelty. The French philosopher believed in a supreme being, but never claimed the being to be a god.  It was more of a life source, marginally antedating the thesis of Stephen Hawking (Hawking, Stephen (1990). Voltaire emphasized reason.  He despised democracy as the rule of the mob, and believed that an enlightened monarchy, informed by the counsels of the wise, was best suited to govern.  Voltaire’s thinking was adopted by many of those who signed the Constitution of the USA. The imperialism and exclusion of people within the Constitution of the USA is clear in the original document–without amendments (except for the Bill of Rights).  US Senators were not chosen by the electorate.  They were hand-picked by venal and vested interests controlling state legislators.  Black people were barely considered humans, and their rights limited in scope and number.  Race mattered (Black people were not considered to be on par with Caucasians but accepted as slaves based on the only known reading at that time of the myth of Cain and the Babylonian legend of Noah who cursed his grandson Canaan for having seen or fondled his testicles). This was enshrined in the Constitution of the USA: known as Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution:

Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.

Women were equally disenfranchised until the twentieth century, with medical doctors at Harvard arguing that women should consider themselves “wounded creatures” at least once a month because of menstruation.  School was basically parochial and limited to the few elite and wealthy, as became the threshold for modern day politicians such as Mitt Romney who rejects he has any responsibility to represent or better the lives of 47% of all USA citizens (read here and here).  Like Governor Rick Perry of Texas who has single-handedly detroyed the Texas Board of Education (read here and here) and his installed fake historians like David Barton and phoney sciences in Texas classrooms, the Republican Party has spoken out against basic safety nets: social security, medicare, universal health care, better schools, and the inalienable right of women to determine the destiny of their own bodies.

If Antonin Scalia had his way, as a “strict constructionist” who literally followed the letter of the Constitution, there would be no national military (only armed farmers), roads and highways would have tolls charged, and elections would be held in fields without the secret “Australian” ballot, and Akin (R-MO), King (R-IA), and Bartlett (R-PA) among others could force their views on others. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) would begin to tear down the wall separating church and state that Thomas Jefferson said was necessary for the USA to be a united people when he wrote to the Baptists of Danbury, CT.

Religions have never been free nor in existence to serve the needs of the common person at any time or anywhere.  Instead, ontological theologies have always been the enslavers of mortals for the growth and enrichment of a select few equal to the ancient world through the epoch of the Middle Ages in Europe, Japan, and elsewhere.

It was during these dark days that early nobles who survived the downfall of a decrepit and decaying Roman Empire by carving out individual latifundiabecame robber barons in the Ukraine and Bulgaria forcing Slavs to convert to the hated religion of the Greeks so that their overlords would gather in gold sent by the Orthodox churches of Asia Minor and the Emperor in the East.  The Slavs were given the choice of converting or being massacred, the same choice Roman Catholics gave Muslims (Moors) in Spain, as did the Muslims in Africa as they raided cities, towns and countryside regions throughout the northern lands of the continent.  Religion has never been freely offered–it always has been forced on a relunctant people everywhere.

The Slavs fought off the cruelty of Christians for several hundred years, but were ultimately disempowered and Greece sent in missionaries to clean up the ruins, renaming Slavic gods as saints, and murdering priests of the old religion, but this conversion was not “completed” until 1300 CE, and there still remain followers known as Rodnovery (Родославие/Rodoslavie; Ukrainian: Рiдна Вiра/Ridna Vira, Рідновірство/Ridnovirstvo; Belarusian: Роднавераваннe/ Rоdnaveravanne; Polish: Rodzimowierstwo; Czech: Rodnověří; Slovak: Rodnoverie; the official adoption of what vigilantes from Constantinople called Christianity  is varied: Moravia in 863, Poland in 966, Kievan Rus’ in 988) who worship the old gods to the chargain of Kirill, the corrupt patriarch of Moscow.

Kirill is a multi-billionaire religious leader in Russia working to enthrone Vladimir Putin, silence dissent (Pussy Riot band), and force the Ukrainian and the Bulgarian Orthodox churches to league behind him.  A corrupt politician who has enriched himself at the suffering of the people of Russia, over the last few years sold more than $2 billion in cigarettes to buy himself a penthouse in St. Petersburg, a villa in Switzerland, a $35,000 watch, a yacht, and so forth, while preaching to the Russian Orthodox to immitate the poverty of Jesus; and the priests who demand money to say prayers for their dead.

The same was true of the fate of what would become the land of the red beards (Rus), their poisoning of thought throughout Scandinavia, and barbarian invasion of the emerald island that became known as the British Isles–and through the settlement of the New World.  Scalping was not native to the American aboriginal people, but for the most part was introduced by Europeans, especially the French who offered bounties for scalps to prove the “enemy” was dead (Billard, Jules B. The settling initially was to rape the land and denude it of timber and tar for boats, furs and ornaments for trade, and ultimately with the carnage unleashed against Central and South America, to genocidic slaughter, rape and plunder by friars, monks, confessors and soldiers of advanced civilizations from the Aztecs to the Incas so that native American gold would fill the bloodstained coffers of Spain, Portugal, and Tudor England.  Only a few of those who accompanied the invaders dared to write about the human tragedy and barbaric practice of supposedly religious people.  One of those was Bartolomé de las Casas O.P., a Dominican who wrote vividly of the planned, premeditated and calloused murder of entire civilizations and people from Cuba to South America.

Religion always played a part, with the conquerers killing natives either with bullets or syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases (especially in the conquest of the Hawaiian islands), and later poisoned progeny that mushroomed as white fungus in the USA from the nineteenth century that was hallmarked by “Captains of Industry” from Andrew Carnegie whose minions had Pickerton Detectives fire on workers, and John Rockefeller calling in brigands to stiffle dissent.  This has continued into the distorted world of 2012 and such Troglodytae (as original mused on by Montesquieu in his Lettres persanes, written 1721 now know as Persian Letters), in the misshapen menacing and mincing mentalities of Paul Ryan (R-WI) and his scattered clan with the matriarch housed in a retirement village Florida, 78-year-old Betty Ryan Douglas.

Betty told other seniors that she does not worry about her welfare as she has Paul–who she originally feared would be a “ski bum” and who originally vowed to dismantle medicare.  While Betty lied and told other retirees that her son would not cut medicare or medicaid, the National Journal exposes the mother’s deception (which may have been deliberate or the result of following her son’s draconian plan) printing what Ryan proposed in line with Ayn Rand’s (born Alisa Zinov’yevna Rosenbaum 1905, died 1982) dicta that were written as novels and became the heartbeat of the ultraconservative movement.

The same is true for the shadow puppet pair perfidiously preying on the enigmatic enemies of Charles and Edward Koch of Kansas: Willard [Mitt], a bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints (LDS: Mormons) and Anne Romney who openly resents the middle class from asking her questions and not just agreeing to “give Mitt a chance” (watch here and read here).  In each case, religion is always the flying buttress holding up the weight of their lies that are as hard as the stones that the poor lifted to create Notre Dame de Paris.

Few religions have ever accepted freedom of speech or thought.  Since the invention of the Christian church in 325 CE by the non-theist/polytheist Emperor Constantine I in an effort to create a unified empire and his Council warrior/advisors to Nicaea to form his “catholic [universal] church”. Few had any true spiritual interest in the rights of all, but sought forced conversions, theft of property: the temple of other deities for their own use, and freedom of expression and assembly were battered until both lay bloody on the altar of expediency and emperor worship.

Constantine busied himself after his novelty was established by burning all works that did not fill the need he saw in a one-world religion.  This would be matchd by all churches from then to 2012, with Terry Jones of Florida promising to burn more Qu’rans. In turn, Muslims

burned Jones in effigy (as Jones hung President Obama in effigy and then burned a drawing of Muhammad with a Qu’ran).  Jones’ goal is to ignite the world in a final battle, the mythology of Armageddon longed for by religious radicals and the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) that was created to propel the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, into the presidency with Perry’s Day of Prayer that brought together more people of hate under a single roof in one day that had not been achieved since the mass rallies for Adolf Hitler.

The Roman Catholic Church, like its senior-sister the Greek Orthodox Church and its offspring, labored bloodily to silence opposition, to distort, attenuate and transmogrify the original sayings of the Jesus of the New Testament into the praetorian preaching of the group-created Pauline epistles that have little in common with the simple uneducated dicta of the man from Galilee. To this end, the injunction by the New Testament Jesus not to judge others (Matthew 7:1) was unscrupulously unctionized and prepossessively glossed over into a litany of condemnations hailed by the nefarious and odious opportunists in the pay of the empire that elevated the insanity found in 1 Corinthians 6:9 (Ἢ οὐκ οἴδατε ὅτι ἄδικοι θεοῦ βασιλείαν οὐ κληρονομήσουσιν; μὴ πλανᾶσθε· οὔτε πόρνοι οὔτε εἰδωλολάτραι οὔτε μοιχοὶ οὔτε μαλακοὶ οὔτε ἀρσενοκοῖται).

Iowa presidential preference poll, is not only mentally unbalanced but is approaching the genocidic complex that filtered through Nazi reality that still has a stranglehold on Iowa with the KKK headquartered in Boone, Iowa.  Vander Plaats preying mantra  matches the critical calloused learning of most Pentecostal ministers who preach from pulpits who their congregations are to vote for, breathing fire and brimstone and attempt to define ἀρσενοκοῖται as being “homosexual”. 

Homosexuality is the greatest fear in Iowa among the evangelical extremists that huddle beneath the black banner of biblical ignorance of Vander Plaats.  It takes on alleged Biblical proportions as being the sign that the god of Iowa fundamentalist continues to be a demon of wrath and not the Jesus of tenderness, understanding, and acceptance (Acts 10:24).

The word ἀρσενοκοῖται, that Vander Plaats, Huckabee, and other fundamentalists fanatics fume over as a word equal to homosexuality actually is a reference to “effeminancy” or “abusers of themselves with people”: sensualists or masochists would be more accurate.  The word homosexual appears nowhere before 1863 (it was coined by Karl Heinrich Ulrichs (1825–95) and published in his book Forschungen über das Rätsel der mannmännlichen Liebe (Researches on the Riddle of Male–Male [Man-to-Man] Love). Leipzig, Deutschland: Spohr), and is not used in a psychological study for another thirty years (Charles Gilbert Chaddock (1894 [I have the 1892 edition in my personal library]: Psychopathia sexualis: eine klinisch-forensische Studie, Stuttgart, Deutschland: Enke, 1886, where the term is antipathic). Read Psychopathia sexualis: with especial reference to the contrary sexual instinct: a medico-legal study… by R[ichard] von Krafft-Ebing. 7^th edition, Philadelphia, PA: F. A. Davis; it does not appear in German until by 1880, in Gustav Jäger, Gustav (1880). Pyschologie then a part of the series Lehrbuch der allgemeinen Zoologie: ein Leitfaden für Vorträge und zum Selbststudium / von Gustav Jaeger, III. Abth.).  The word homosexual is not printed in any English Bible before 1946.  It does not appear until 1973 in the New International Version [NIV].

Biblical literacy has always been low, as with the infamous line from Genesis 1:28, where the sentence reads:  וַיְבָרֶךְ אֹתָם אֱלֹהִים וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם אֱלֹהִים פְּרוּ וּרְבוּ וּמִלְאוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וְכִבְשֻׁהָ וּרְדוּ בִּדְגַת הַיָּם וּבְעֹוף הַשָּׁמַיִם וּבְכָל־חַיָּה הָרֹמֶשֶׂת עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃. In the original, the word להכפיל, means to “increase” (actually “increase in knowledge” as the people (race) had eaten from the Tree of Knowledge).

While multiplication was a science in the days of ancient Babylon, its contemporary use does not begin until the seventeenth century when the × symbol for multiplication was introduced by William Oughtred (5 March 1575 – 30 June 1660) who was an English mathematician in 1631, and sought to enhance Christianity: the symbol was for St. Andrew. Oughtred is better known as the inventor of the slide rule.

Even in Arabic the word “multiply” (darb: مركز درب) means increasing and it is not a license for unbridled fecundity.  Education is becoming less as religious ideas become more invasive, and churches take a stronger hold on schools and curriculum as is the fate of such ignorant governors as those of Louisiana under Jindal, and Texas under Perry both who champion evolution (or “Intelligent Design”) and find science to be “false” that must be attacked by god-fearing people to defend the bible that their god is unable to protect.

The problem with the Bible(s) and Qu’ran is that few know what the original interpretation was.  Constantine had destroyed most of the scrolls he disfavored—and most scrolls date to the fourth century, including the favored four gospels, but even here both Matthew and Luke generously plagiarize from Mark. Muhammad, being illiterate, had “Memorizers” commit to memory the words that Gabriel spoke to him—words that were not written down for hundreds of years: starting with Zayd ibn Thabit after Muhammad’s death.  While Muhammad died in the seventh century (632 CE), the oldest surviving copy of the Qu’ran is dated to the ninth century.  Different Qu’rans early manuscripts of the Umayyad and Abbasid Dynasties (653-656) have different codices, wording, and so forth and are unreliable.  The text of the Qur’an used today is taken from one of seven variant readings chosen by Abū Bakr Ibn Mujāhid (Arabic: ابن مجاهد; full name: أبو بكر أحمد بن موسى بن العباس بن مجاهد التميمي; born 245 AH (Islamic calendar) or 859-860 CE) who originally reported that there were fourteen various scrolls in the 10th century; execution by the Abbasid Caliphate al-Muqtadir.  The Qu’ran was published as the Royal Cairo edition by King Fuad of Egypt in 1924.

It is not just Islam or Roman Catholicism, Greek/Russian/Bulgarian/etc Orthodoxy, but even within the evangelical extremist factions of Pentecostals, Jehovah’s Witness, Adventists, and especially Mormons (LDS) that there is no tolerance of dissent, no acceptance of humor against the

inconsistencies and absurdities of the cults, etc.  The Coptic Catholics were among the first most violent sect within the cult of primitive Christianity killing Hypatia (the librarian at Alexandria by pulling the skin from her body before casting her into a pile of burning scrolls) and gave foundation for fatwas and myths to Islam.  The anger of the original Coptic Catholics (who still elect their own pope) created great hatred for them by the rest of Egypt and with the rise of Islam and the armies of Muhammad, initiated what many see as an eternal war between Coptic Christians and Muslims.

The denial of discussion and rejection of reason has and will continue for a long time, with radical Muslims carrying placards from London to Los Angeles to demand the heads of those who “insult Islam” as is equaled by vile pertubations of the American Family Association and Bryan Fischer, Tony Perkins’ Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, National Organization for Marriage, KKK, American Nazis funded by wealthy billionaires, New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) amd other certified hate groups in the USA.  With the advent of a Black president (Obama) hate has surged faster in the USA than anywhere radical Islam exists.

Nakoula’s depiction of Muhammad as a “womanizer” is his own as the Qu’ran does permit bigamy and thus any concept of “womanizing” is contrary to the writing and meaning of the Muslim holy book.  As for being a “child molester”, it is true that Muhammad married a seven year old girl by the name of Aisha bint Abu Bakr (612 – 678) (Arabic: عائشة‎), but that, too, is condoned in the Qu’ran (the marriage was not consummated until the girl was nine years old), and the child was given the title title “Mother of the Believers” (Arabic: أمّ المؤمنين; ref. The great tragedy is that people believe in this inanity and glorify theological thugs and harper who hone heaven as an elect space for a few–thereby showing god to be merciless and sectarian–not at all in keeping with Acts 10:34.  The concept of not judging, glorified in Matthew 10:27 (having been plagiarized from numerous previous scrolls of greater antiquity) is forgotten as is the history of Allah (a word that follows the Aramaic ܐܠܗܐ and Punjabi ਅਲਹੁ formats, and is equated as being equal to the Hebrew) and his daughters: al-Uzzā, Manāt and al-Lāt (Qur’an 53:19–22; 16:57; 37:149 from which the Satanic verses come: Sūra an-Najm verses 19-20) and several sons (Qu’ran 6:100) although he was but a minor Bedouin god housed in the Black Stone in Mecca. The same can be said for all other man-made religions. It is tragic that so many people are so myopically minded and look through long dark tunnels at what they perceive as light, a psycho-physical condition known as temporal lobe epileptic seizures that are known to experience hallucinations and religious visions, particularly after exposure to sunlight. It is a mere reflection of the electricity of another’s attempt to control them, that they miss the message that life is to be lived to the fullest as it is all we know or anyone has recorded except in a state of drug induced euphoria (Greek Oracles), or experienced various stages of epileptic seizures (Moses, Jesus, Joseph Smith Jr, etc) that were not diagnosed but accorded as divine messages (cf. The ancient “messengers” which Hebrews call angels (all are male; there are no female angels–the only “women in heaven” are the “virgins” (actually “grapes”) to reward faithful Muslims killed defending the faith) leading to the similar mythology of angels in Christianity under the collective name Gabri-el (Hebrew: גַּבְרִיאֵל, and Arabic: جبريل, literally means “gods who send messengers”, but comes from ancient Babylon and in the Book of Daniel (8:15–26, 9:21–27 Gabriel is “a man in linen” similar to the man in the Cave where the New Testament Jesus was buried; in ancient Hebrew literature Gabriel took souls out of a vat, or “treasury” and gave them to Lailah, the Angel of Conception, to watch over as embryos until it was born as a mortal) was seen only as a mortal man) cause more harm than good.

At the same time the ayatollahs are guaranteeing that their nations will never reach the grandeur or educational heights of medieval Arabs who built great hospitals (known as bimaristan) and many were the size of palaces well staffed with doctors who were male and female, nurses and all advanced instruments, were humane towards the mentally ill, and added discoveries to science and mathematics, while is a growing force of ignorance in the Roman Catholic Church.

Roman Catholic prelates of Seattle, WA and one of its two bishops,  Peter Sartain,  has increased the level of hate on the west coast by claiming that a human rights issue known as proposition 74 is “about god”, Chicago, IL Francis cardinal George, San Francisco, CA new drunk cardinal, and New York City’ pedophile protecting archbishop Timothy Dolan, are pushing their adherents backwards hundreds if not one thousand years in understanding, compassion, acceptance of reality and other truths that Carlo Maria cardinal Martini of Milan, Italy, warned his church that it would bring upon itself the End Times being at least two hundred years behind the times of today. It is tragic. 

The legacy of religion is backwardness, intolerance, hatred, and xenophobia. The fear of multiculturalism led to the Christian terrorists Anders Behring Breivik‘s slaughter of youth in Norway equaling the intense hatred of Timothy McVay and his slaughter of people in Oklahoma City, Abiding Truth Ministries (a certified hate group funded heavily especially by conservative Christians in Texas) president Scott Lively’s call for mass genocide, and the rejection of the poor in the USA in the ranting of politicians and billionaires and millionaires who demand that the working poor take pay cuts (read here and here and here with Paul Ryan’s argument here; Mitt Romney’s stand on taxes and cuts is here; Obama’s stand requiring companies that received federal bail-out money to slash wages of senior officials: CEOs, COOs, and other high-wage earners is here and here and here) as the USA is in drowning debt because of George W.
