Age of Trump and the new age the psychology of denial

Many deny the reality of COVID-19 and many die from COVID-19. There is a solution. It is that face masks and social distancing must become compulsory and with consequences. Behavior change, including compulsory behavior change, can be followed by insights and understanding.Read More

Sharks in Texas smell fresh meat

Oportun Inc., a Silicon Valley-based installment lender, which was founded to help Latino immigrants build credit so they can go on to achieve the American Dream, disclosed to investors last week that it had received a civil investigative demand from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  Oportun had become the most litigious personal loan company in Texas, suing thousands of lower-income borrowers at a rapid pace even as other lenders halted or slowed legal action during the pandemic.

Voting Rights Under Attack in all fascist states

Bloody Sunday, March 7, 1965, Selma, Alabama

Biden and Congressional Democrats have sought ways to blunt the Republican push in Congress and state legislatures to make voting more difficult. Biden unveiled his plan of action on the anniversary of the 1965 Bloody Sunday civil rights march in Selma, Alabama. “Those torches and burning crosses, the batons, tear gas, fire hoses, attack dogs, and unfair laws and trials could not stop progress,” Biden said in his remarks.1

Iowa, like Ohio and other Republican-controlled states, is putting restrictions on voters, limiting early voting, setting criminal charges on county auditors helping Iowa voters...

White Evangelical Christians and their Ancestors

QAnon at the riot

The cult-like conspiracy system and conservative Christianity are influencing one another and creating potentially violent fanatics under the stress of the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting economic fallout.  Both movements are angry and bitter over former president Donald Trump’s election loss —

QAnon at the riot

Many white Christian evangelicals were QAnon followers at the Jan 6 riots shouting for the death of Mike Pence

which they believe was fraudulent. “Older members would ignore Black Lives Matter and instead say we had to focus on sex trafficking,” said Jared Stacy, who led a Southern Baptist church in Virginia until recently moving to Scotland with his family. “It’s like 2020 just exposed so many undercurrents that were already there and growing...

Translation: Problems and Potential

Written for Woody, Loraine and Jolly Besse เพื่อนและที่ปรึกษากว่าหลายปี

Across the seven major languages in this world, common words such as “people”, “individual”, “man”, “nation”, “law”, “faith”, and “family’ had differing levels of importance in relation to other words in the language. While in Arabic the word “man” exhibited high levels of importance in the text, other languages placed higher levels of importance with words such as “person” or “individual”.   The problem is translation and lack of knowledge and skill by translators.

In Finnish man and male are the same (mies) but not woman and female (nainen, and naaraspuolinen).  In Hebrew man is גבר and woman:  אישה...

Biblical Plagiarism

The sage, savant, and scholar Paul Pearson, my friend, has a new blog (https://pearsonally.com) that I recently commented on in brief concerning Ben Carson 1. Carson, currently Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and neurosurgeon and devout Seventh Day Adventist is a biblical literalist who has no knowledge of ancient pre-Biblical or biblical languages, yet pontificates on a wide range of Bible myths concerning ancient Egypt (soundly pointed out by Pearson). Carson does not offer a shred of historical evidence to support his wild claims from “Joseph built the pyramids” and the pyramids were “built in order to store grain” since “many chambers [were] are hermetically sealed”...

Fujimoris Fracturing Fragile Peru

A daughter of the notorious, thief, drug pusher, convicted of human rights abuser,1 former dictator and currently imprisoned Alberto Fujimori, Keiko Fujimori has conducted a political career filled with do-nothing activities and absences. Keiko, as a presidential candidate in 2016, echoes her father’s tenure as president (1990 to 2000): despotic rule riddled with corruption, theft from the national treasury, extortion, torture and other human rights abuses. Linking her campaign to her father’s “achievements,” she has justifiably sparked fears that if elected she would replicate the worst of the Fujimori dictatorship. Even so, Keiko continues to gain support as she hands out bags of rice to the impoverished masses starving in Peru...

Religions of Peace: ISLAM

Introduction

Apologists for Islam (the word translates as submission or surrender) claim that their religion is one of peace. There are moderate Muslims, and many eschew jihad (popularly translates as holy war. It was, originally used for a personal cleansing of the soul from anger and corruption), honor killings, and hatred. That view of forsaking war or violence is not in the Qur’an.

“We [believers] disown you [non-believers, including family] and what you worship besides Allah. We renounce you. Enmity and hate shall forever reign between us—until you believe in Allah alone” (Qur’an 60:4).

What does the Quran say about peace, living in peace with other religions and those without religion, and working for the good of all people...

Tea Party & GOP on Obama, Taxes and the USA

Various blogs claim that CNBC ran a story with the headline that read: Canadian’s Version of David Letterman’s Top 10.  CBNC rejects this claim. The account, instead, originally appeared on http://afrafrontpagenews.blogspot.com/2013/07/canadas-top-ten-list-of-americas.html published by a one-man blog that has as its moniker American Family Rights. It is a arm of the one-man, one-state Silent Majority USA with mail collection at P.O. Box 402 Douglass, TX 75943.

The blurb reads: This is Canada’s [sic] Top Ten List of America’s Stupidity.” The secondary rant defines the screed: “Of course we look like idiots …. Because we are.” Here are the inherent lies within this pulp paper:
