Dakota Ary, Kristopher Franks, Fort Worth TX Independent School District, and freedom

Dakota Ary (age 14) of Fort Worth TX denounced German teacher he assumed is gay

Kristopher Franks, a German teacher with a long and distinguished service record at Western Hills High School, was investigated by FWISD [Ft. Worth Independent School District] administrators for writing a disciplinary referral against Dakota Ary.  Ary is a student whom Franks reported publicly harassed him in class on the basis of the student’s perception that Mr. Franks is gay. Regardless if Mr. Frank is or is not gay is not the issue. The issue, Ary claims, is the First Amendment of the US Constitution.  Mr. Ary styles him a specialist on First Amendment rights, and argues that the First Amendment of the US Constitution specifically allows him “freedom of religion” to cast aspersions on those who do not share his fundamentalist ideas.

Ary based his verbal assaults at West Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas, and ultimate initiation of legal action based upon biblical biases found in his Bible even though they were generated by mistranslations and erroneous interpretations.   Ary’s onslaught of evangelical extremism acerbated the situation into a slurry of vituperative traducements against the teacher.  This can be read in this account, it reads, in short: “that Mr. Franks maintains a “word wall” for his German IV class. On this “word wall”, the teacher, Mr. Franks, posts articles and images from several journals, including the German

magazine, Stern. One of these articles concerned

gay rights in Germany, and included a photo of two men kissing. The group of four boys concerned was sitting near this image immediately before Mr. Franks found it had been ripped from the wall”. On one particular day, according to all news reports, Ary declared, with a class audience, ‘Gays can’t be Christians; homosexuality is wrong,’ looking directly at Mr. Franks.” Ary’s knows scant little of Church history, martyrology, or the communities of the ancient christianos or chrestianos and nothing of the Vita Constantini.

Ary’s ignorance is overwhelming.  There is no condemnation of homosexuality in the early Christian community before  the Council of Ancyra (314, and it was not a council of all bishops–there were only a dozen who attended–and was called to deal with certain “apostacies”): Canon 16.  The Council of Ancyra was called soon after the death of the Emperor Maximin, to be held in the capital of Galatia.

Council of Nicaea (325 CE) with first reference to Acts 8:37

Three was no official church until the Emperor Constantine created his catholic (universal) church at the Council of Nicaea (in Turkey) in 325 CE (Eusebius, Vita Constantini. Winkelmann, F, ed (1975) (text in Greek). Berlin, Germany [DE]: Akademie-Verlag.  Eusebius  was the church historian at that time, appointed by the emperor.  The Arian bishop states without equivocation: “σύνοδον οἰκουμενικὴν  συνεκρότει” (he [the emperor]  convoked an Ecumenical Council).  While there were, it was assumed, 1800 bishops, Eusebius write that only 220 attended (Eusebius, Vita Constantini III.9), so the council was not representative, definitely partisan, and did speak for the entire Christiam community. Athanasius of Alexandria counted 318 (Ad Afros Epistola Synodica 2), and Eustathius of Antioch counted 270 (Theodoret Historia Ecclesia 1.7), and it is written that all three were present at the council. Eusebius was not alone is testifying that the “Christian Church” was an imperial idea and creation; this is also the affirmation of Athanasius’ Ad Afros Epistola Synodica in 369; and the Letter in 382 to Pope Damasus I and the Latin bishops from the First Council of Constantinople (Schaff, Philip; Wace, Henry, eds. (1890), The Seven Ecumenical Councils, Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers: Second Series, 14, The Seven Ecumenical Councils, Grand Rapids, Michigan, U.S.A.: Eerdmans Pub Co., pp. 292-294).

Ary’s audacity is a tragedy, and his lack of sensibility inhumane. He fashioned fantasy from illiteracy and cast aspersions as vipers throughout the classroom.

Martin Luther's Bible (1534) in private library of Dr. Arthur Ide

What troubles me the most is that Dakota Ary of FWISD has zero knowledge of scripture in any reliable, verifiable or recognized format.  It is obvious that he is using scripture scurrilously, and all is current, for mediocre translations gave way to extraordinarily bad or corrupt mistranslations after 1946. It is even more apparent that Ary has had no formal training and has been drugged by a prokaryotic pastor.  Ary is articulating his personal misinterpretation of Leviticus 18:22, that has little comparative value before 2000 CE. The New International Version (©1984) reads: “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.” The English Standard

Martin Luther's 1534 Bible frontispiece (colorized) in private library of Dr. Arthur Ide

Version (© 2001) reads: “You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination. The New American Standard Bible reads: “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.” God’s Word® (© 1995) reads, “Never have sexual intercourse with a man as with a woman, It is disgusting. The King James Bible (sixteenth century), read: “Thous halt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”  The American King James Version is printed: “You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.” The American Standard Version: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.  In each case as with indicate a misdirection of intent or wrongful fantasy–it is not the action but a state of mind.  What Ary does not seem to know is that the word “homosexuality” does not appear in any until 2007 when it is used, in error, in the New Living Translation that is trying to be, falsely, contemporary.  The word “homosexuality” does not appear in any lexicon before 1892, and then it is used in a psychological treatise–not a theological translation or exegesis.

The Hebrew reads, which Ary does not read: וְאֶת־זָכָר לֹא תִשְׁכַּב מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה תֹּועֵבָה הִוא׃. Ary is allegedly studying German.  Ary might find it beneficial to read the verse in German; for example, in Martin Luther’s version of the Bible, it is printed: Du sollst nicht beim Knaben liegen wie beim Weibe; denn es ist ein Greuel. The word “homosexuality” in German is Homosexualität.  The word is not in Martin Luther’s Bible (I am using a 1912 edition, and have compared it thoroughly to my personal copies of the original 1534 and a later 1541 edition. I fail to find the word Homosexualität in any of them). Ary’s crass comment codified in his German class is not only fraudulent but baiting, badgering, and bullying.  It shows that Dakota Ary is not a student but a proselytizer in a public building where proselytization (ergo: προσηλύτση) is not traditionally welcomed and infringes upon the religious freedom of others to believe (or not to believe) as they wish.

All schools are established as learning centers.  The purpose of education is to seek out new knowledge, investigate old knowledge, prove or disprove any theory, and to conscientiously conduct of inquiry to understand what are facts and to repeatedly test those facts to see if they change or do not change.  There is nothing infallible or permanent, not even a god or a book.

Ary’s protestations are a prostitution of the academic process.  Dakota’s draconian grandstanding in Mr. Franks’ class was a yoke dragging the Fort Worth Independent School District deeper down into the abysmal depths of basement-valued education that is more common among poorly rated institutions such as Bob Jones University, Regent University and others that lack any sound academic credibility. Ary and his pseudo-intellectuality brings disgrace upon FWISD.  FWISD was established as a public institution to seek out wisdom, and find it allowing the individual learner to be free of mythologies and bad science.  FWISD was not established as a seminary, nor as a rogue monastery where learning is prostituted to biblical literalism and blind memorization.

Since Mr. Ary used the Bible as his source for a hate speech, that hate speech must be addressed using the same book that Ary has canonized, sanctified, stratified, stagnated as the sola fedi of his religiosity.  None of the Bible commentaries uses the word “homosexual”.  All commonly known and accepted Bible commentaries argue that the prohibition is against foreign worship practice where there was especially sex between men and goats (Herodotus, Historia 2.46; Strabo, Geographia 17, p. 802; Aelian, De natura animalium Vii.19, while according to Sonnini, Charles-Sigisbert, Voyage dans la haute et basse Égypte, fait par ordre de l’ancien gouvernement, et contenant des observations de tous genres R. 11, p. 330, referenced it as having sex with female crocodiles.

Leviticus written around snake-god worship popular in Egypt

Ary’s total lack of familiarity with the Bible in the original is even more stark in reference to Romans 1:27 (a plagiarism of Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13).  It has no similar reference, for again it is a reference of against pretending what is, is not or something else, for the actual scripture reads: How well Ary is performing in his German class with the expertise of Mr. Frank has not been made public, but I will offer Dakota Martin Luther’s bad German translation.

A Christian response?

I find it impossible to consider Dakota Ary as a Christian. Martin Luther’s translation alone would prove Dakota Ary is no Christian: Richtet nicht, auf daß ihr nicht gerichtet werdet where it is alleged that Jesus declared in Aramaic: ܠܐ ܬܕܘܢܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܬܬܕܝܢܘܢ; cp. Μὴ κρίνετε, ἵνα μὴ κριθῆτε but closer to Մի՛ դատէք, որպէսզի չդատուիք in referring to Matthew 7:1.

Dakota Ary’s vengeful god of condemnation is no where in the Bible, as noted: Ἀνοίξας δὲ Πέτρος τὸ στόμα εἶπεν• ἐπ’ ἀληθείας καταλαμβάνομαι ὅτι οὖκ  ἔστιν προσωπολήμπτης ὁ θεός that in contemporary German reads: Petrus aber tat seinen Mund auf und sprach: Nun erfahr ich mit der Wahrheit, daß Gott die Person nicht ansieht; sondern in allerlei Volk, wer ihn fürchtet und recht tut, der ist ihm angenehm. (Acts 10:34, the German includes verse 35; for the language that Jesus allegedly spoke, Aramaic, it would be:  ܦܬܚ ܕܝܢ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܒܫܪܪܐ ܐܕܪܟܬ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܢܤܒ ܒܐܦܐ; the passage parallels Deuteronomy 1:7 and 10:17 indicating a heavy borrowing by the redactors). No logical, rational, educated, thinking person would ever consider Dakota Ary a Christian much less alone a righteous person.

People destroy what they are afraid of but want (Sigmund Freud)

Dakota Ary and his disciples act of vandalism is a crime in every state in the USA and is recognized as a crime in most nations. Texas Penal Code 9.42 stipulates deadly force can be used if it is “immediately necessary” in preventing an intruder from fleeing the property in the commission of a crime or thereafter. Texas property owners are regulated by “reasonable belief” that there is no other way available to protect the property and its assets or escape great bodily injury or death, except by way of deadly force.  The willful destruction of property, any property, is an offense by Texas law. It should be punished to the full extent of the law.  The removal and destruction of property, albeit a minor infraction, is prosecutable and would be on the vandal’s records for others to see.

Sigmund Freud

Ary and his congregation argue that they were exercising freedom of religion, but there is no statute of law that permits any religion to steal and/or destroy private property.  Dakota and his friends should be tried for theft, destruction of property, and limiting, abridging and denying Franks full freedom of speech and expression.  The reason that this has not happened is because Franks and the school administrators and board must determine that, at minimum, Ary and his team are either mentally unstable because of their irrational homophobia that expresses itself in a violent manner, or that they have basic reasoning ability but are sadistic and seek to alienate and possibly harm another or others that is an overt act of terrorism (ref. Martin, J. (2006). Self research in educational psychology: A cautionary tale of positive psychology in action. Journal of Psychology, 140(4), 307).  Such destructive actions can be traced back to the abusers earlier years, and relationships with parents that experienced similar abusive situations (Thompson AE (1996). Kaplan CA, USA. “Childhood emotional abuse.” British Journal of Psychiatry. 1996 Feb;168(2):143-8).  This is especially true when there is either a strong patriarchal or matriarchal family, and the head of that unit is verbally, physically, sexually, or religiously abusive, the latter being found most frequently in evangelical fundamentalist homes (Straus, Murray A. and Carolyn J. Field (2003). “Psychological Aggression by American Parents: National Data on Prevalence, Chronicity, and Severity.” Journal of Marriage and Family 65 (November 2003): 795–808).

There is evidence, found in numerous researches and case studies, that such actions as homophobia is but a mask or covering or latent homosexuality in the individual or individuals who act aggressively against those they fear are homosexual.  Sigmund Freud and many psychologists and psychiatrists see homophobia as a condition suppress the innate homophobia within males and females who are terrified that they are actually homosexuals (Henry E. Adams, Ph.D., Lester W. Wright, Jr., Ph.D. and Bethany A. Lohr, University of Georgia (Athens), Department of Psychology. “Is Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal?” Journal of Abnormal Psychology, Vol. 105, No. 3, pp 440-445) as may be the case with Ary.

People who are comfortable with their own sexual identity do not waste time worrying about the sexual orientation of others nor are they uncomfortable when around others who do not share their sexual interest.  The reverse of this can be seen in the police records when Michele Bachmann telephoned for help from the police, speaking sporadically and in terrified of being in a public bathroom with two lesbians.  What Congresswoman Bachmann exhibited is commonly known as “homosexual panic”, and it is a mental disorder.  Today “homosexual panic” is called “Kempf’s disease”.  It is a term first coined by psychiatrist Edward J. Kempf  in 1920 (see: Kempf, Edward J. (1920). Psychopathology. St. Louis, MO, USA: C. V. Mosby Company).  The disease is commonly found in people who suffer schizoid personality disorders who have insulated themselves from physical intimacy (read: Kaplan, H.I. et al. ed. (1980), Comprehensive textbook of psychiatry, third edition Williams and Wilkins, Baltimore – London, and Chuang, H.T. and Addington, D. (1988), “Homosexual Panic: a Review of its Concept,” in Canadian Journal of Psychiatry October (7):613-617).  Michele’s husband (Marcus) has a similar aversion.

Marcus and Michele Bachmann campaigning for the presidency in 2011

Marcus Bachmann is deeply involved with “reparative” psychology to “cure” homosexuality.  “Reparative psychology” has been dismissed by the American Psychological and American Psychiatric Association as constituting fraud. Michele Bachmann’s strategist-husband called gays ‘barbarians’ who ‘need to be disciplined, which is rejected by all psychological groups as bordering on sadistic control. The Bachmann’s over-concern about homosexuality, like that trumpeted against by Ayr, came out quickly when Marcus’ wife decided to run to head the Republican ticket.  As the Andrew Malcolm of the Los Angeles Times reported on June 30, 2011, Marcus  “apparently believes that the Christian commandment to “love your neighbor as you would yourself” will only lead to more people deciding to be gay.  Who did Mr. Bachmann blame? Public schools.  Marcus is quoted as saying: ‘And [sic] let’s face it: What is our culture, what is our public education system doing today? They are giving full, wide-open doors to children, not only giving encouragement to think it but to encourage action steps. That’s why when we understand what truly is the percentage of homosexuals in this country, it is small. But by these open doors, I can see and we are experiencing, that it is starting to increase,’ Marcus Bachmann said.”

‘The same is true for Rick Santorum’s initial bid for the US Presidency that was denounced and written about by many psychiatrists in 2003. Homophobia precedes, in many cases, to genocide as occurred with the Norwegian Christian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik who systematically killed seventy-seven people and wounded scores more on 22 July 2011.  Before the mass assassinations, Breivik began his apocalypse with the bombing of government buildings in Oslo that resulted in eight deaths.  After that carnage, Breivik initiated his mass shooting with an automatic weapon that was loaded with bullets that exploded inside the bodies of his victims.  His victims were chosen as they did not meet his Nazi-styled version of what was a true Scandinavian as he resented multicultural pluralism.

Anders Behring Breivik (age 32) Christian terrorist and mass murderer (2011)

Breivik claimed that his victims were not true Christians nor did he see any of the youth as living what he termed as the Christian lifestyle.  Like Ary, Breivik was terrified of homosexuality, and so the day before he began his murder spree, he hired two prostitutes, and then heated up his holocaust at a camp for the Workers’ Youth League (AUF) of the Labour Party on the island of Utøya killing 69 people, mostly teenagers. Breivik has links to the USA Tea Party’s Pamela Geller and numerous evangelical extremist groups that preached the message parroted by Ary.

A bully has low self-esteem

One notable similarity stands out.  Breivik and Ary are both bullies: ridiculing those whom they see as different while ignoring their own inferiority complexes and dismal record in life.

Most of his purchases and financial problems was because of his desperate effort to stockpile weapons (he made his first million kroner, but lost it and argued his loss was a Jewish-Muslim conspiracy, and began to prepare for a holy war as his part of the evangelical extremist Christian fundamentalist pogrom with which he identified personally as a movement that he continues to claim, like Ary, gives him the “religious freedom” to speak out or do anything to avenge his god and guarantee that his god will be triumphant.

Breivik murdered those he felt were "liberal", "multicultural" and not "Bible Christians"

While Breivik admits he murdered innocent people, he has repeatedly attempted to justify his crime claiming he was defending western civilization–a

Francesco Speroni (Italian xenophobe)

claim hailed by many members of the far right, even in Italy where Francesco Speroni, a leading member of the Northern League, the junior partner in Berlusconi’s conservative coalition, said: “Breivik’s ideas are in defence of western civilisation”, and in the USA, in the same way that Ary justifies his criminal actions against Mr. Frank, professional psychologists do not concur (Gellately, Robert and Kiernan, Ben (2003). The Specter of Genocide: Mass Murder in historical Perspective, Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press; read: du Preez, Peter (1994). Genocide: the Psychology of Mass Murder. London, UK: Boyars/Bowerdean, here). Dakota Ary is guilty of is the crime of hate speech. In law, hate speech is any speech, gesture or conduct, writing, or display that is forbidden because it has the ability to incite violence or prejudicial action against or by a protected individual or group, or it disparages or intimidates a protected individual or group.

Bullies scar physically and mentally, leading to suicides

The law identifies hate speech when it goes deliberately against a protected individual or a protected group by race, ethnicity, gender or gender identity, nationality, religion, sex or sexual orientation, gender identity, or other characteristic, according to the United Nations committee on human rights (International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Article 20). Hate speech, for example, is a form of verbal aggression that expresses hatred, contempt, ridicule, or threats toward a specific group or class of people (Allport, Gordon W. (1954). The Nature of Prejudice. Cambridge, MA, USA: Addison-Wesley Pub. Co.) with religion being a cornerstone of prejudice, hate, and crimes of violence (Allport, Gordon W. (1950, 1954). The Individual and his Religion: A Psychological Interpretation. New York, NY, USA: Macmillan, 1954, ©1950.; ref. Allport, Gordon W. (1950) with Harvard University Department of Psychology (1954?). ABCs of Scapegoating. [New York, Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith]).

Ary and his posse sincomitatis pose a significant health and safety hazard not only to the teacher but to other students in the building and community, as seen in numerous similar test situations in psychology and psychiatry (Lederer, Laura and Delgado, Richard (1995). The Price we Pay: the Case against Racist Speech, Hate Propaganda, and Pornography. New York : Hill and Wang). Unlike the rest of the civilized First World of Nations, the USA does not specifically outlaw hate speech except Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, employers may sometimes be prosecuted for tolerating “hate speech” by their employees, if that speech contributes to a broader pattern of harassment resulting in a “hostile or offensive working environment” for other employees—a situation that the Fort Worth Independent School District’s Board of Education and Administrators found themselves deeply buried beneath the slurry from Ary’s comments (cf. Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson (477 US 457; No. 84-1979; decided June 19, 1986).

More of Breivik's victims (2011)

Why the Fort Worth Independent School District’s Board of Education and Administrators fail to, or deliberately chose to, ignore this important aspect is incomprehensible. To cave in to the demands of Dakota Ary and his mother will lead to additional attacks on teachers and students, and can create a situation worse than that experienced Norway’s Christian fundamentalist mass-murderer Anders Behring Breivik, while in the USA there have been

Dr. George Tiller martyred for a woman's right of choice

approximately 894,000 murders by Christians since 1960, including the assassination of Dr. George Tiller who was murdered in cold-blood while serving in his church, while Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati, who had been articulate in rejecting forced conversions to Christianity that his people were subjected to enduring, was targeted by several evangelical Christian groups and murdered in August 2008 in the Orissa state of India, being killed with four other people including one boy and a woman. The student and his lawyer are now asserting that including this photo among the others constituted his teacher’s “imposing acceptance of homosexuality” in his classroom—the same tactic that Nazi Germany took with teachers and pastors who defended LGBT rights (Giles, Geoffrey J., “The Denial of Homosexuality: Same-Sex Incidents in Himmler’s SS”, Journal of the History of Sexuality, Vol. 11, No. 1/2, Special Issue: Sexuality and German Fascism (January – April, 2002), pp. 256–290). These students subsequently took every opportunity to denounce homosexuality in class, frequently without context; that is, with the topic having otherwise been broached.

Charles Schenck

Free speech works for all people, not just for Mr. Franks nor for Mr. Ary. The only limit, according to Schenck v. United States, 249 U.S. 47 (1919), a United States Supreme Court decision that upheld the Espionage Act of 1917 and concluded that a defendant did not have a First Amendment right to freedom of speech against the draft during World War I revolves around the word “danger”. The posting of a photograph or an invitation for communication of an incident in the conduct of inquiry and the pursuit of knowledge is enviable and should be encouraged. In this case one can learn from the opinion’s most famous passage, which Justice Holmes succinctly set out the “clear and present danger” test: The

Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes

most stringent protection of free speech would not protect a man in falsely shouting fire in a theatre and causing a panic. […] The question in every case is whether the words used are used in such circumstances and are of such a nature as to create a clear and present danger that they will bring about the substantive evils that Congress has a right to prevent.

Advocacy of an opinion does not constitute a clear and present danger, nor do comments like Mr. Ary’s note any reality that creates any threat; there is no preamble or other indication that Mr. Franks was inciting imminent lawless action (clarifying the Schenck decision in 1969 in Brandenburg v. Ohio). Mr. Ary is actually outside of the law by his attempt to limit Mr. Frank’s speech. According to published reports throughout South America, Mr. Ary claimed: “Gays can’t be Christians; homosexuality is wrong,” looking directly at Mr.

Hitler leaving church in Germany

Franks. Adolf Hitler used the very same argument in his attack and ultimate murder of more than 500,000 gay men and 100,000 lesbians, while proclaiming himself to be “defending God as a good Christian” (Heger, Heinz (1980). The Men With the Pink Triangle.  Hamburg, Germany: Melin-Verlag; Giles, Geoffrey J. “‘The Most Unkindest Cut of All’: Castration, Homosexuality and Nazi Justice,” Journal of Contemporary History, vol. 27 (1992): pp. 41–61).

While Dakota Ary queried his teacher about what churches are in Germany and whether or not they read the Bible in English.  Mr. Ary should study German culture, for there are numerous denominations in Germany. Christianity is the largest religion in Germany with 54,765,265 (67.07%) adherents as of the end of 2006, down to 51.5 million adherents (62.8%) as of 2008.  The second largest

Hitler had German homosexuals starved as his plan to purify heaven

religion is Islam with 3.3 million adherents (4%) followed by Buddhism and Judaism.  Protestants (especially Lutherans) have lost the greatest number of followers especially with their rigid orthodoxy that was in keeping with Hitler’s xenophobia.  Atheism has risen the fastest and sharpest among all ethnic Germans. All have a “holy book” each with a unique name, and all having more than one translation.  None of the translations are correct.

Hitler's Sachsenhausen camp for Homosexuals forced to wear a pink triangle

Infallibility of any scripture is assumed by some (primarily evangelicals and

Religious sects in Germany 2011

fundamentalists), but most reject any book as being absolutely true–as proven by a committee in Jerusalem that is meticulously reviewing the texts against scrolls, fragments, and other remnants.  It has been the proliferation of variant Bibles that have led to the increase in denominations, inter- and intradenominal spats (as can be seen between the ELCA {Evangelical Lutheran Church in America} and WELS {Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church} with the former more in keeping with the current concensus of tolerance, while the WELS community more in keeping with strict Lutheran diktat, such as its declaration that the Pontiff in Rome is the Anti-Christ, and that there is no salvation except through faith regardless of works, and so forth, roundly applauded by Michele Bachmann before her odyssey into the presidential primary waters.  It was an ideology that, according to Adolf Hitler who welcomed representatives of the WELS group of Lutherans to Berlin, would conquer the world because of their “rigorous attention to detail as Dr. Luther presented it” warming his heart and giving him strength to carry out his convictions to convert the world to Martin’s message.

Early Latin speaking christians used several versions (with different words) of the same book

What Mr. Ary needs to understand is that the Bible was never written in English until the sixteenth century and then numerous redactions transmogrified it, as happened to the Greek when St. Jerome created his Vulgate (Latin) version. As for “homosexual” does not appear in any version until after 1892, when the word was first used in a psychological treatise in C.G. Chaddock’s (c1892)  translation of Krafft-Ebing, R. von (Richard). Psychopathia sexualis, with especial reference to contrary sexual instinct: a medico-legal study … Authorized translation of the 7th enlarged and rev. German ed. by Charles G. Chaddock. Philadelphia London, F.A. Davis Co. The original, in German, is Krafft-Ebing’s Psychopathia sexualis : mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der conträren Sexualempfindung : eine klinisch-forensische Studie. Stuttgart, Germany: Ferdinand Enke, 1887.  The original term was “inversion”: Krafft-Ebing, Richard; Émile Laurent; Sigismond Csapo (1895 ed. in multiple languages). Psychopathia sexualis, ave Recherches spésiales sur l’Inversion sexuelle. Paris, France: Carré. As Carl Jung noted, “[religion] is a careful and scrupulous observation of what Rudoph Otto aptly termed the ‘numinosum,’ that is, a dynamic existence or effect, not caused by an arbitrary act of will.  On the contrary, it seizes and controls the human subject which is always rather its victim than its creator.” (Jung, Carl C., Psychology and Religion, New Haven, CT, USA: Yale University Press; London, UK: H. Milford, Oxford University Press, 1938.p. 4. Italics mine.)  It is the folie à millions as witnessed

Harold Camping predicting end of the world

in Heaven’s Gate, Harold Camping prophecies (current prediction is that the world will end on October 21, 2011, previously it was May 21, 2011), Peoples Temple in Jonestown (Gayana), Branch Davidians, and so forth, but can lead to relativistic contrasts as detailed by John Macmurray in his The Structure of Religious Experience (New Haven, CT, USA: Yale University Press, 1936, pp. 54 sqq).

The word in the Bible in the Greek is “effeminate” (KJV, AKJV, ASV, BBE, Douay-Rheims uses it as a form of “idolatry”, and so forth: θηλυπρεπής.  The problem is with the contemporary linguistic corruption as with It does not nor ever has meant homosexual or homosexuality. It wasn’t until 1946 with the coming out of the Revised Standard Version (RSV) did we find the word homosexual in an English translation.

Hebrew University (Jerusalem) Bible Project: finding errors (2011)

Very little of today’s Bible is original.  What is read by contemporary Christians is a book with more than ten thousand errors in translation, additions, subtractions, and inventions.  Even the “chapters and verses” did not exist in the original Bible (Hebrew or Christian).

The Christian Bible did not have chapters or verses until Cardinal Hugo de Sancto Caro, started to do this from 1244 to 1248 CE. He did this while creating a concordance of the Latin Vulgate.  His reason for dividing the various “books” was to help people look up verses of the Bible. Today, the typical modern chapter divisions were apparently devised by Stephen Langton, Archbishop of Canterbury in England, around 1227 CE.  The Wycliffe English Bible used them when it was circulated in 1382.  Mordecai Nathan, a Jewish teacher, divided the Hebrew Old Testament into chapters in 1445 CE.  Three years later, Nathan and a scholar named Athias divided the Old Testament into verses in 1448.

Mr. Dakota Ary would be better served if he studied German and the ancient languages before arguing about that which he has no knowledge or competence than maliciously utter that which is without linguistic or historical foundation and has no place in a classroom of language. Dakota should take his arguments to a center of theology but be prepared to have them scrutinized and subject to

rebuttal under the same First Amendment. I will be happy to debate Mr. Ary if he will use the original scrolls or a quasicompetent (pre-1892) bible that is in Hebrew and Greek (Old Testament) and Koine or Attic Greek, Coptic, Armenian, etc. (New Testament)—not English (the English language did not exist at the time the various scriptures were written, and no bible existed before the Emperor Constantine I (“the Great”) demanded, in 331 CE (Apologia ad Constantium 4).  The emperor wrote: I have thought it expedient to instruct your Prudence to order fifty copies of the sacred Scriptures, the provision and use of which you know to be most needful for the instruction of the Church, to be written on prepared parchment in a legible manner, and in a convenient, portable form, by professional transcribers thoroughly practised in their art (Vita Constantini, IV,36, in Greek). Eusebius responded: Such were the emperor’s commands, which were followed by the immediate execution of the work itself, which we sent him in magnificent and elaborately bound volumes of a threefold and fourfold form (Vita Constantini, IV,37; there is a problem with the phrase: εν πολυτελως ησκημενοις τευχεσι τρισσα και τετρασσα  διαπεμψαντων ημων as it could be translated “three or four volumes” or “sent in three or four boxes”, etc.). Bishop Athanasius claims the order came later: between 337-339 CE.  The first ecclesiastical councils to classify the canonical books were both held in North Africa-at Hippo Regius in 393 and at Carthage in 397.   The English language belongs only in classes taught in English—it has no place in a course taught in German, French, Spanish or any other idiom.

Dakota Ary is similar to Adolf Hitler in many ways.  Ary is struggling to introduce his peculiar version of Christianity into a public school where there are students of various denomination and no denomination and who reject religion.  This is the same terrorist tactic used by Adolf Hitler who promised never to tolerate public secular schools:

German school children in uniform from NSDAP Standarten Kalender 1939

“Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith.” (Adolf Hitler in a speech on 26 April 1933, during negotiations that led to the Nazi-Vatican Concordant of 1933 with Pope Pius XII, from Ernst Helmreich (1979). The German Churches Under Hitler, Detroit: Wayne State University Press, p. 241).

Hitler was endorsed by Roman Catholic and Lutheran bishops and other Protestant leaders

Ary claims that he is speaking out as a concerned Christian.  Ary’ claim is 100% identical to that of Adolf Hitler: Hitler was to be the savior of the Christian community and its church: “The folkish-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God’s will, and actually fulfill God’s will, and not let God’s word be desecrated. For God’s will gave men their form, their essence and their abilities. Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lord’s creation, the divine will.” (cf. Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, Ralph Mannheim, ed.; New York: Mariner Press, 1999, p. 562.)

Church leaders in support of Hitler

Dakota Ary claims that he is doing the work of his god, defending the Bible, and following Jesus.  It is no different in the letters and papers of Adolf Hitler, for Hitler boldly proclaimed that he was “doing the work of the Lord” by fighting the Jews (ibid., p. 65) and he proclaimed his “Christian Crusade” not only in his autobiography, but in various papers and speeches. For example, he thundered “My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was his fight against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed his blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice. And as a man I have the duty to see to it that human society does not suffer the same catastrophic collapse as did the civilization of the ancient world some two thousand years ago — a civilization which was driven to its ruin through this same Jewish people.[In his hatred for the Jews, Sabbatarians, and others, Hitler followed the writings of Martin

Luther (Against the Jews: Von den Jüden und jren Lügen, Wittenberg, Germany1543] “Then indeed when Rome collapsed there were endless streams of new German bands flowing into the Empire from the North; but, if Germany collapses today, who is there to come after us? German blood upon this earth is on the way to gradual exhaustion unless we pull ourselves together and make ourselves free! “And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly, it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people. And when I look on my people I see them work and work and toil and labor, and at the end of the week they have only for their wages wretchedness and misery. When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil, if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom today this poor people are plundered and exploited.” (Speech on April 12, 1922, at Munich; from Norman H. Baynes, ed. The Speeches of Adolf Hitler: April 1922-August 1939 Vol. 1, New York: Oxford University Press, 1942, pp. 19-20.) The union (Gewekschaft) of Hitler with evangelical Protestantism as posed by

Adolf Hitler and Martin Luther

Luther was clear in the speeches and writings of Bernard Rust, German Minister of Education under Hitler. Rust wrote and spoke: Since Martin Luther closed his eyes, no such son of our people has appeared again. It has been decided that we shall be the first to witness his reappearance…. I think the time is past when one may not say the names of Hitler and Luther in the same breath. They belong together; they are of the same old stamp [Schrot und Korn]. -Volkischer Beobachter, 25 Aug. 1933.

Adolf Hitler was every bit as intolerant as Ary of FWISD (cf. Steigmann-Gall, Richard (2003). The Holy Reich: Nazi conception of Christianity, 1919-1945 Cambridge University Press; on the Sabbatarians [Adventists] read Luther, Martin Werke vol. 47: pp. 59, 65-70, 80, 96-07. On the tie between Luther and Hitler, read: Léon Poliakov, The History of Anti-Semitism, 4 Vols. (London: Routledge/Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1974-1985), and Christopher R. It is surprising that the Fort Worth Independent School District would even entertain Mr. Ary’s objections without all the facts. I lived in Dallas County from 1977 to 1998, and never came across a similar gross miscarriage of justice, out of a slavish fear of Jerry Falwell’s barristers. Freedom of speech does not include masquerading behind ontology or theology with the goal of destroying another person’s reputation, profession, or education. The Liberty Institute (originally founded in 1972 under the name Free Market Foundation), an off-shoot of the Liberty Council, funded by the Koch Brothers, that is a recognized/organized and accredited hate group which has provided the lawyer to represent Ary.  This gaggle of “legal experts” depicts itself as concerned with protecting “faith-based speech,” yet has a record of fighting against the extension of anti-harassment policies to protect LGBT people for it is homophobic admittedly and its legal counsel ill-trained but heavily financially subsidized by recognized and recorded as organized hate groups.  Groups connected with the Liberty Institute include numerous organized hate/racist groups such as the Khristian Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, American Family Association, Focus on the Family, Sovereign Citizens, Tea Party, and so forth. Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University’s sponsorship of counsel lends even less credibility to this situation. I will be happy to debate the Christianity of Ary in Coptic, Greek (Attic or Koine [lingua franca]), Latin or any Biblical language.

Dakota Ary has no “faith-based speech” (cp. Mark 12:31: δευτέρα αὐτῇ· ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν. μείζων τούτων ἄλλη  ἐντολὴ  οὐκ ἔστιν)—he only exhibits hate-based speech as any psychologist would

testify. Hate-based speech is the beginning of the descent into violence. In the field of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud defined hate as an ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its unhappiness (Freud, Sigmund (1915). “The instincts and their vicissitudes” in General psychological theory : papers on metapsychology; with an introduction by the editor Philip Rieff. New York : Touchstone, 2008, c1991.  More recently, the Penguin Dictionary of Psychology  defines hate as a “deep, enduring, intense emotion expressing animosity, anger, and hostility towards a person, group, or object”. The American Psychological Association has gone on record against limitless hate speech. It noted, collectively, “In addition to the physical wounds that hate crimes can leave behind, they can also have serious consequences for the mental health and well-being of victims and communities,” said APA CEO Norman B. Anderson, Ph.D. Hate-speech frequently leads to hate-violence and actions propelled by hate. The American Psychological Association and student advocacy organizations have documented relationships between bullying and violence in schools. Classmates excessively bullied Columbine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold.

Columbine principal Frank DeAngelis, however, said there were no red flags, no warning signs, no indications at all that bullying was a problem on his campus.

Charles "Andy" Williams, 16, is sworn in before pleading guilty

Students at Santana High School in Santee said Charles “Andy” Williams, who killed two students and wounded 13 others, was relent-lessly bullied at school. Williams’ father said the bullying bordered on “torture.” A three-year study showed bullying at Santana High School was rampant long before Williams

opened fire.  Bullying does not always lead to the bullied person taking revenge by killing those who have bullied him or her, as was the case with another troubled student, Jason Hoffman, who opened fire on Granite Hills High three weeks after the Santana shooting.  It also leads to the suicide of the person being bullied, as was the case with more than 10,000 students in the USA: from 15-year-old Phoebe Prince who had moved to Massachusetts from Ireland, to Jamey Rodemeyer who took his own life in Buffalo, New York, to scores more.

Fortunately, the judicial arm of the law is now filing suits against the bullies and having them stand trial for their role in leading to the suicide of other students.
The American Psychiatric Association has long affirmed that a child does what

he or she sees and hears from a known person for whom they have respect, rather than what it is told by someone they do not know nor respect. Pastors and parishioners who preach hate reap that hatred in actions by those who listen and agree out of a sense of loyalty. It happens in every state of the Union, in every country from Poland to Perú, Russia to Romania, Finland to France, to Australia and New Zealand where deaths are increasing at an equally obscene rate .  No place is immune from bullying as most parents and teachers see bullying as a “rite of

passage” to adulthood.  The are wrong as family and community learned when it was too late to save Daniel Mendez, 16, of San Clemente, California, who was a Boy Scout, had plenty of friends, earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, played football and was consistently an honor student, but was regularly called a “half-breed” (racism is alive in California as it is in all other states) gay male and made his “life a living hell.”  While he claimed he “could handle it”–he could not, and on On May 1, 2009, he shot himself in front of a friend’s house as life was unbearable with the evangelical Christians constantly badgering and baiting him for being a homosexual: one of the many expressions of nature that is normal and natural but that fundamentalists do not accept.  When Orange County officials began an investigation into reasons for the wasted life of Mr. Mendez, they learned that more than sixty-percent of all students had been bullied, but only sixteen-percent of all teachers considered the acid words and cruel taunts as bullying: the teachers are as guilty as the students for the death of Daniel Mendez and should be counselled and get psychological evaluation, for their ignorance of the danger and damage of bullying makes the teachers unfit for their jobs.  As the investigators discovered, the two biggest threats to young lives are Facebook and Tweet, and suggested that parents install monitoring systems that record each keystroke of both Facebook post and Tweet.

Bullying is premeditated assistance-murder in the first degree, and among the very young it is a product of cyberbullying over the internet.

Cyberbullying reported among sixth to eighth grade students

In all my research, and especially with an in-depth study of the case in Fort Worth concerning Mr. Ary, I find no difference between Ary, Luther, or Hitler. They are from the same cloth, and when any claim that they have a religious right to defame others or speak out against universal freedom of expression, Ary, Luther, and Hitler are triplets of the same cloth. Today, Ary is a major threat to human freedom and the advancement of knowledge and learning in Fort Worth, and all indicators point to the enhanced possibilities that FWISD will be another Columbine.

Jamey Rodemeyer's suicide made Lady Gaga angry to organize 'Bullying is Hate Crime" that has now become a law in many states and cities, including Dallas, TX

Jamey Rodemeyer committed suicide in New York when classmates exercised their “religious freedom” to shout at him that he was “going to hell.”  Despite the fact that Rodemeyer is dead, his family is still being attacked by the same bullies that neither the police nor the weak principle of Jamey’s school will do anything about.  NOTE:  Despite the fact that local police say they are investigating R0demeyer’s suicideto potentially prosecute the actions of

Jamey's sister Alyssa Rodemeyer

classmates that bullied Rodemeyer to death, students are still harassing and bullying Rodemeyer’s family. At the Williamsville North High School Homecoming dance last weekend, Rodemeyer’s sister, Alyssa was harassed and jeered, and, as she says in this video, her brother’s bullies yelled at the school dance, “We’re glad he’s dead”. The are under investigation, for the moment.  Williamsville Schools Superintendent Scott G. Martzloff had begun to publicly defend the district’s response to Jamey’s suicide–which is nothing but meetings with no penalties or other actions spelled out or even hinted in a five minute video put out for the students.  As of October 1, 2011, Martzloff, has “declined” all interviews with the news media and has been consulting with Republican operatives who are standing behind Michele and Marcus Bachmann that homosexuality is a sin and it is better for the sinner to be dead.

Phoebe Prince, age 15, a new immigrant from Ireland, committed suicide in Massachusetts by hanging herself after being repeatedlybullied by god-squads.

Phoebe Prince, age 15, migrated from Ireland to Massachusetts, and committed suicide because of bullying

Those who bullied Ms. Prince were later charged with bullying in an open court in Massachusetts.

Kayla Narey and Sean Mulveyhill pleaded guilty to bullying in Massachusetts--where it is a crime.

Other bullies in Phoebe Prince’s suicide were also charged.

Flannery Mullins was also charged with bullying Phoebe Prince into committing suicide

Fanny Mullins was soon joined by her co-bully, Sharon Chanon Velazquez.

Sharon Chanon Velazques was charged with aggrevated bullying of Phoebe Prince

Today there are more than one millions suicides that are successful every year. In 2007, it was the tenth leading cause of death in the U.S., accounting for 34,598 deaths. The overall rate was 11.3 suicide deaths per 100,000 people (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System (WISQARS).

For every 100,000 young people in each age group, the following number died by suicide:

  • Children ages 10 to 14 — 0.9 per 100,000
  • Adolescents ages 15 to 19 — 6.9 per 100,000
  • Young adults ages 20 to 24 — 12.7 per 100,000 An estimated 11 attempted suicides occur per every suicide death.

Montana Denton Lance (age 9)

Nine-year-old Montana Lance committed suicide in the boy’s bathroom at Stewarts Creek Elementary School in North Dallas in January 2010.  There were 33 suicides among children ages 5-9 in the U.S. between 1999 and 2006, according to statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  In each case, bullying was the factor with religion and the terror of help the primary armament.

Most suicides are the result of bullying, and most murders are the result of hatred expressed by others. Risk factors for attempted suicide by youth include depression by being ridiculed by those expressing their religious freedom and rights to libel, slander or call-out those who do not share their ideology, ontology, or theology, plus alcohol or other drug-use disorder, physical or sexual abuse, and disruptive behavior (Petronis KR, Samuels JF, Moscicki EK, Anthony JC (1990). “An epidemiologic investigation of potential risk factors for suicide attempts.” Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology, 25(4): 193-9; cp. U.S. Public Health Service (2001). National strategy for suicide prevention: goals and objectives for action. Rockville. Baltimore, MD, USA: USDHHS). As the Prime Minister of Norway, Kjell Bondevik, noted: “All religions can be misused by extremists who are seeking to find arguments for persecution or a holy war. History has shown it again and again. We have seen it in Christianity, in the form of the Medieval Crusades, and the persecution of non-Christian and heretics right up to our own times. I am thinking for instance of the so-called Army of God in the U.S. which condones the killing of medical personnel who are involved in abortions” and the slaughter of all people who oppose it as “God is the only Commander-in-Chief”. This is also the case in fundamentalist Islam and jihad, as well as all other religions extremist groups of Christian terrorists.  The majority of all suicides comes from bullying, especially by evangelical Christian extremists:

  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year, according to the CDC. For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it.
  • Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University
  • A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying
  • 10 to 14-year-old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above
  • According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying

Most suicide attempts are expressions of extreme distress, not harmless bids for attention. Religious extremism has always had an asymmetrical affect on suicides. Given the current statistics and studies, Dakota Ary will probably precipitate a blood-bath at FWISD, if the FWISD does not stay vigilant and strong as it did when it cleared teacher Kristopher Frank of all charges on Friday, 30 September 2011. If bullying continues in Fort Worth, as it does around the USA, most likely will there will be a more gruesome tragedy in Fort Worth, Texas than at Columbine, Colorado.

Great article! Your comparison of Dakota Ary to Martin Luther and Hitler is brilliant – and I love the way you document everything so completely. I’d like to hear you debate Ary, but it would hardly be a fair fight, as he’d be completely unarmed.
Ary’s youth should not be a factor in this matter; he should be prosecuted to the greatest extent possible. This is not a probationary offense. (In other words, they should get that little creep out of the gene pool now.)

  • samiswan  says:

I guess I should’ve added that people like Dakota Ary don’t debate, as they have neither the intelligence nor the education to do so. I doubt if he speaks any languages other than English, and I’d be surprised if he speaks that especially well. This boy is a perfect, sad example of the result of hate-filled, ignorant people raising a hate-filled, ignorant child. I agree that fundamentalism (whether dressed up as Christian, Muslim, etc.) poses one of the greatest threats to our nation. It takes true courage to stand up and refute it, as you are doing, Art. I hope your extensive research on this subject will help educate both regular readers and casual browsers.

  • Bobbie  says:

Seeing the faces of the people who have committed suicide because of bullying is a sobering thing. I do wish Dakota Ary could spend some time with a true Christian scholar and learn the difference in what he’s espousing and what scripture really says. That kind of ignorance is scary.
