The idea of a “god of wrath” (Acts 7:11: ηλθεν δε λιμος εφ ολην την γην αιγυπτου και χανααν και θλιψις μεγαλη και ουχ ευρισκον χορτασματα οι πατερες ημων which takes from Genesis 41:54, and Romans 1:18: αποκαλυπτεται γαρ οργη θεου απ ουρανου επι πασαν ασεβειαν και αδικιαν ανθρωπων των την αληθειαν εν αδικια κατεχοντων) and anger and vengeance has long been a main artery coursing through the body of Christianity, leading to numerous butchering of people, torture, and murder. In this Yahweh and Jesus match the wrath of the Greek god Dionysius (cf. Ovid, Metamorphoses 4.22, 422, Homer, Iliad 6.129, Hephaestion, Handbook of Metres 13. 43, Apollodorus, The Library 3.34-35 (an English translation is at http://www.theoi.com/Text/HyginusAstronomica.html), Hyginus, Astronomica 2.7 (and English translation is at http://www.theoi.com/Text/HyginusAstronomica.html), and so forth) as the gods of old would be like the novice Yahweh and Jesus: Δεῖμος καὶ Φόβος (keep mortals in terror and fear). This is the Jesus preached by the ultraconservative C Street group known as The Family.
Christian evangelicals and the US military try to match this wrath by going to foreign nations and encouraging the slaughter of those who do not meet up to or exceed their expectations of what Jesus wants of mortals. This violation of the separation of state and church is the result of two non-paid, non-faculty evangelists: Darren and Gina Lindbloom, who wrote in their October 11 newsletter seeking donations, “Praise God that we have been allowed access by the Academy into the cadet areas to minister among the cadets. Uganda evangelical Christians demand that gays be killed 2011
Uganda has become a magnet for radical American evangelical groups. Some of the best known Christian personalities have recently passed through Uganda spewing hatred in the name of a god few know. They condemn that which most have committed: from sexual indiscretions to bold-faced lying. Most of these evangelical apostles bring with them anti-homosexuality messages that not only board on, but actual call for the murder of gay men and the rape of lesbians. Pastor Charles Galabuzi, on of the organisers of the demonstration, said that a Christian organization called Children with a Mission liaised several churches and parents from all over the country to organize the demonstration. “We contacted the various churches about the demonstration and they cooperated by requesting children from all over the country to send their children to participate. We also asked parents to send their children to take part in the noble cause. We are happy that they sent their children,” Galabuzi said. Repeating the message of Adolf Hitler, Galabuzi claims that as Christians they do not support homosexuality and that they have come out strongly to tell all children in Uganda to denounce homosexuality and also to report any child they find getting involved in homosexuality activities.
Jesus, for Ugandan evangelicals, is a god of hate, the son of a greater god of evil who will crush dissenters without mercy, for the Father of Jesus is the author of torture, war, plagues, famine, hunger, and all other forms of violence. It is the will and the order of Jesus in Uganda, that Uganda restores the death penalty for all gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people. Throughout Uganda there are images of Jesus with his hands dripping with blood from the throats that he has cut in his wrath against homosexuality.

Discussions of sex are a special amusement for Warren, especially homosexuality. He sees homosexuality as a choice (not as genetic) and a choice to sin in open defiance of god. It is this defiance that Warren proclaims feverishly that will bring down the wrath and carnage of an angry god who will not tolerate any person who openly, and knowingly, goes against the “natural order” of things (Rich Warren fails to note that homosexuality is especially common in all species from moose to sea gulls, and all other creatures–who, according to Warren–are incapable of thought and less than the status of a man [he ignores the “creation” of women save to claim that they must be subordinate to a man, in the same way that radical Islam marginalize women]. Rick Warren, a friend of Barak Obama, frequently speaks one way, then “clarifies” what he meant with an addendum (see: http://blog.beliefnet.com/stevenwaldman/2008/12/rick-warrens-controversial-com.html). Scott Lively, president of Abiding Truth Ministries (classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center; see: http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2010/spring/us-anti-gay-activists-under-fire-for-), is a missionary who has written several books against homosexuality, including “7 Steps to Recruit-Proof Your Child [from turning homosexual”. Lively has no academic credentials in history but is he co-author of the book The Pink Swastika, which states in the preface that “homosexuals [are] the true inventors of Nazism and the guiding force behind many Nazi atrocities” and has started “Watchmen on the Wall” to push through anti-gay legislation (for a rebuttal of the validity of the historical research claimed by Lively, see: Erik N. Jensen (January/April 2002). “The Pink Triangle and Political Consciousness: Gays, Lesbians, and the Memory of Nazi Persecution”. Journal of the History of Sexuality 11 (1/2): 319–349, pp. 322–323 and n. 19.). In each invocation for violence, Lively extols the sword that is in the hand of his Jesus, barking that Christ would not tolerate a single homosexual to live.
Caleb Lee Brundidge, a self-described former gay man who leads “healing seminars”. Brundidge, a self-described former gay man, is a sexual reorientation coach for International Healing Foundation, which purports to help people shed their unwanted same-sex attractions. Although Brundidge claims he is cured, it is common gossip in gay circles that he continues to “cruise” areas where gay men congregate. The International Healing Foundation was founded by Richard Cohen, who says he is a former homosexual who converted to heterosexuality, and claims that mothers are responsible when a son turns gay Cohen’s therapy is unique. He claims that men who are “striving to overcome their homosexual desires” can do so by cradling other men in their arms or by screaming “Mom, Mom, why did you do this to me?” A leading proponent of the Ugandan bill to execute homosexuals has been filmed holding up Cohen’s book, Coming Out Straight, and citing Cohen’s “work” as justification of executing gay men in the name of the love of Jesus.

The Fellowship, (also known as The Family; see: Sharlet, Jeff (2009) The Family : the secret fundamentalism at the heart of American power. New York, NY : Harper Perennial, 2009, and Sharlet, Jeff (2010). C Street : the fundamentalist threat to American democracy. New York : Little, Brown & Co., 2010) is one of the USA’s most powerful and secretive fundamentalist organization’, and declares boldly that it converted Uganda’ President Yoweri Museveni to its anti-gay brand of Christianity, which is the “intellectual” impetus behind the anti-gay crackdown. The clandestine organization’s leader, Doug Coe, calls Museveni The Fellowship’s “key man” in Africa. Jeff Sharlet, author of “The Family”, writes of the African strongman’ conversion:
“So,” Doug Coe told us, “my friend said to the president, “why don’t you come and pray with me in America? I have a good group of friends‚ senators, congressmen‚ who I like to pray with, and they’d like to pray with you.” And that president came to the Cedars (a religious retreat), and he met Jesus. The Family has the conviction that Jesus of the New Testament wants a physical empire–a world that can be dominated by men. The passages that The Family glories in are those that show Jesus without mercy, and always with the sword in his hand to wipe out sin and corruption as The Family determines. Unique in itself, The Family is composed not only of national leaders (US Government and state governments), but would-be/want-to-be assassins who sit in state legislatures: not just from the Deep South of the USA but are found in growing numbers in the legislatures of Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey and elsewhere.
The Family has for years specialized in housing and indoctrinating members of Congress in its Washington, DC, C Street residence in order to “take back” the world for Jesus, and claimed a deduction from the IRS as being a charitable organization given to prayer (the IRS rejected part of that deduction in 2010). The Family also has worked actively for years to influence both American politics and foreign leaders and had done so with great success, with the greatest labor performed by adulterers and child molestors. Senator John Ensign of Nevada, Governor of South Carolina Mark Sanford, and former Representative Chip Pickering of Mississippi were all denounced for adultery with Pickering actually engaged in this “immoral” activity within the sacred precinct of C Street and its prayer center. George Rekers, one of the most duplicit prevaricators of truth, joined with James Dobson to form one of the most heavily endown hate groups: Family Research Council. The Iowa legislature is so corrupt and so filled with evangelicals that there are debates over who can give invocative prayers, with one Church of Christ pastors praying partisan and sectarian for matters other than the increase of faith: he paid to stop abortions, to correct lives styles, and similar rants. He is not unique but identical to the organized hate group: Army of God, and Ministry to the Unborn (Missionaries to the Unborn Iowa is located in Keokuk, Iowa).

Sen. John Ensign (R-NV)
The Family, of course, recently made headlines because one of its key members, Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) had sex with his best friend’s wife, while they were working together. Later, when he admitted, that although he was a member of the ultra-conservative Promise Keepers (to keep the family strong) he committed adultery with a campaign aide. An attorney for Cindy Hampton and her husband, Doug, issued a statement on their behalf as Ensign phoned in his resignation as a member of the Senate GOP leadership. An Associated Press review of federal records showed Cynthia Hampton received a promotion and a pay raise around the time of the affair at one political entity controlled by Ensign and a pay raise at a second. Her husband was an employee in Ensign’s Senate office.

The hypocrisy of The Family has never been questioned, for one of the tenets of The Family is that it is acceptable to lie to further the Kingdom of God and end the rule of liberals (usually considered to be Democrats). Nevada Republican once called on President Bill Clinton to resign, declaring “the truth must come out.” In October 2007, he was sharply critical of former Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, who served in Congress for a quarter-century when he was arrested in an airport bathroom sex sting, yet was one of the most outspoken members of the US Senate condemning homosexuality. In 1993, Craig in his first term as a Republican senator from Idaho, helped to enact the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that states that if anyone in the military even attempted a homosexual solicitation that individual would be removed from the service (http://www.slate.com/id/2173102/; ref. http://mediamatters.org/research/200708280013; cp. http://alaskareport.com/news/z46613_larry_craig.htm). Ensign stopped short of urging him to resign but suggested strongly that he should. In 2009, Senator Ensign was named one of the 15 Most Corrupt Members of Congress by the watchdog organization Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

Another member, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), used one of the Family’ Washington properties to try to broker a deal to buy off the furious husband, who has since gone public with the Ensign scandal. There is of course the quandary of what to do when females in the Senate, such as Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) have had their share of run-ins with the law, and in the case of Ms. Hutchison, was actually tried for physical abuse of an employee and numerous other offenses in Travis County, Texas (see: Ide, Arthur Frederick: From Stardom to Scandal: the rise & fall of Kay Bailey Hutchison. Dallas: Monument Press, 1994 ) where the Travis County Attorney prosecuted. Ms. Hutchison was let off by a compromised judge on a technicality.

Charles (Chuck) Grassley is among the greatest hypocrites in the US Senate and a constant embarrassment to thinking Iowans. When it was revealed that AIG was rampant with corruption, and that AIG employees who had contributed heavily to his campaign chest, Grassley sparked controversy by suggesting that those AIG employees receiving large bonuses should follow the so-called ‘Japanese example’, resign immediately or commit suicide, while blaming the Obama Administration–although the bailout began under George W. Bush (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29733519/). Grassley has consistently voted against disabled American veterans (he has the third worse voting record in the entire Congress: http://www.votesmart.org/issue_rating_detail.php?r_id=3483), and in 1993 was among 20 co-sponsors of a Senate bill mandating health insurance for all Americans. According to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, the industries that have been the largest contributors to Grassley during his political career are health professionals ($1 million in contributions; Iowa is the corporate headquarters of numerous health care and other insurance groups: http://www.iid.state.ia.us/reg_industries_unit/index.asp), insurance industry ($997,674), lawyers/law firms ($625,543) and pharmaceuticals/health products ($538,680). His largest corporate donors have been Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, Amgen biotech company and Wells Fargo bank that forecloses on homes without notifying all those affected, demanding the most personal information from employees that has nothing to do with job performance or skill, and has the least transparency of USA banks.
The Americans involved said they had no intention of stoking a violent reaction. But the anti-gay bill came shortly thereafter. Some of the Ugandan politicians and preachers who wrote it had attended those sessions and said that they had discussed the legislation with the Americans. The Guardian is referring to a bill, which is still pending in the Ugandan Parliament, that would make homosexuality punishable by life in prison and, in some cases, execution. Numerous reports, including an in-depth investigation by Public Research Associates, established that the bill grew out of Ugandan legislators’ relationship with the U.S. Christian right, which has expanded outreach efforts throughout sub-Saharan Africa in recent years. Both the Roman Catholic church and the evangelical churches–especially the Wisconsin Lutheran Evangelical Synod (WELS) match Hitler–because Hitler follow the writings of various prelates and those of Martin Luther, a one-time Augustinian monk/priest who wrote to destroy all Jews, to kill all dissenters, and to take on the robes of religion.
