John Nienstedt, the Minnesota pedophile-protecting archbishop of St. Paul and Minneapolis who spoke out demanding that the maximum monetary damage be set at $64,000 for convicted clergy pedophiles (knowing Father David Roney was a pedophile and did nothing to stop the priest nor shield those the priest attacked), now guards the tortured traumas of Michele Bachmann (R-MN) who rants against lesbians and the LGBT community, recently told a mother who asked him to be civil and accept her gay child, that she might join her child in hell (a place that John Paul II rejected, calling Hell a state of mind, but the German pope restored as an eternal place of suffering) if she does not embrace the Roman Catholic Church’s teachings on homosexuality. The predatory prelate penned pathetically a letter that read, in part: “Your eternal salvation may well depend upon a conversation of heart on this topic,” Nienstedt wrote the mother a letter.
“Catholics are bound in conscience to believe in this teaching. Those who do not cannot consider themselves to be Catholic and ought not to participate in the sacramental life of the Church.”In 2007, Nienstedt actually breyed: “”[those] who actively encourage or promote homosexual acts… formally cooperate in a grave evil, and… are guilty of mortal sin”. Not all priests agree with their leader. Father Bob Pierson, an openly gay priest in Collegeville, told 200 Catholics in Edina they should vote with their conscience, not the Archbishop, if they don’t support the same-sex marriage ban.

Roman Catholics in Minnesota abandon the mind-control sought by Nienstedt by voting their conscience in 2012
Many Roman Catholics in Edina, St. Paul, Minneapolis and throughout Minnesota declared their independence of the draconian Nienstedt. They expressed their opposition to the tyrant’s threats and put signs in their yards that expressed their values–and not those of the predator in St. Paul.
In defending his opposition to same-sex marriage and other basic human and civil rights, Mr. Nienstedt’s letter proves that the clerical leader has no knowledge of the Jesus of the New Testament. The letter further demonstrates that the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church has no relationship or reference to the message of the canonical Gospels or to the man hailed in those Gospel: Jesus.
The Roman Catholic Catechism is, at best, a specious, sophistical study. Nienstedt claims that it reflects the message of Jesus, but a scholarly study of this equivocal diaskeaus compendium shows that any similarity is superficial at best and blatantly bogus in fact. For example, Jesus never judged anyone, not even the publicly denounced adulteress related in John 8:7. No where does Jesus condemn alcohol or drunkenness (he was accused of being a drunkard in Luke 7:33-34), and in fact turned water into wine (John 2:1-11, a common ritual especially for magi[cians] from Egypt who toured the Middle East carrying bowls on which were written the characters Christus) as unions between people were celebrated with heavy drinking and debauchery. Furthermore, as Matthew (it is from this gospel that the myth of a papacy is taken: Matthew 16:18) 7:1 clearly and forcefully presents Jesus forbade anyone from judging another mortal. Nienstedt, like the rest of the Roman Catholic bishops conveniently forgets this passage, proving that the pathetic pulpiteer pretender in St. Paul/Minneapolis is not only a fractional follower of the Jesus of the New Testament, but shows no signs of ever having studied the canonical Gospels, nor the Book of the Acts of the Apostles.
Nienstedt’s knowledge of the ancient language is nonexistent. His pretense at scholarship is silent as a dead door knob that shuts out scientific investigation. This is clearly seen in his doctoral dissertation entitled, Human Life in a Test-tube; the Moral Dimension of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer (Roma : Pontificia Universitas Lateranensis. Academia Alfonsiana. Institutum Superius Theologiae Moralis, 1985; 321 p.). Nienstedt’s polemic shows a distain for medicine, science, and investigation. It is a religious posturing of the worse sort and lacks all scholarship.
Nienstedt’s marginal managing of scripture is legendary, showing no familiarity with Acts 10:34: Ἀνοίξας δὲ Πέτρος τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ εἶπεν· Ἐπ’ ἀληθείας καταλαμβάνομαι ὅτι οὐκ ἔστι προσωπολήπτης ὁ Θεός or aperiens autem Petrus os dixit in veritate conperi quoniam non est personarum acceptor Deus,. or any other reference to charity (e.g. 1 Corinthians 13). As if he were elected to the post of a god, Nienstedt openly judges, cavalierly condemns and superciliously sees a conflict between authority and obedience, both of which he argues are absolutes and in his personal domain.
Mr. Nienstedt demonstrates fallacious synthetic scenarios of how far mortals can devolve into preying monsters rattling rosaries made from the torn and twisted dreams of many while mangling messages mouthed menacingly against others in the quest to deny human freedom or civil rights to those who need succor and amelioration not theological torture and torment that trends throughout Roman Catholic Church history. This impious prelate’s draconian DVD is a barbaric bastardized attack on the sexual rights of individuals is tantamount to his dissertation: every sperm is sacred, as if he were a ghost writer for Monty Python. The Jesus of the New Testament made no comment, did not utter one word on sex, and never sanctified or define marriage in any manner as grotesque as those bible pounders and bully pulpiteers from the beginnings of the self-serving sycophant and fawing parasite Billy Graham, the original Elmer Gantry–who scrubbed clean his aspersionson the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints that he equated to being a cult, to Richard Land and the Council of Roman Catholic Bishops in the USA. Graham’s hatred for those who do not toe his dictatorial demands are damned as sinners, reprobates, and worse–as if he were the dictionary for gutter-mouth Rush Limbaugh, but he cannot top the salty sentences and fractured fanaticism of the St. Paul troglodyte (the τρωγλοδύτης σπηλιά from which Nienstedt emerged in 1985).
The Star-Tribune profiled the anti-gay marriage debate in Minnesota, one of four states that will have marriage on the ballot in November. The article in the main Minnesota paper notes that Mr. Nienstedt had crossed over the threshold established by the Internal Revenue Service on what a charitable institution can do.
Mr. Nienstedt and the evangelical extremists whom he has contacted in his war on human rights has committed more than $650,000 in church money—in direct violation of IRS code § 508(c)(1)(A) against meddling in a political movement (and tearing down the wall separating state and church). Nienstedt repeatedly has stitched defiance of federal laws concerning behavior of organizations that strike out against democracy by sewing together a coalition of leaders from other faiths while exerting all his power within the church to press Minnesota’s million-plus Roman Catholics to back his attack on people.
This is the same maneuver as used by Adolf Hitler to weigh in with his toppling German democracy at the end of the 1930s. Nienstedt argues that civil rights are not for everyone–only those who agree with him.
An avowed agent for the supremist government of Vatican City over that of the government of the USA, Nienstedt, like many evangelical extremeists, is intimately involved in working to overthrow the basic principles and premises of the Constitution of the USA that guarantees that all people are be treated equally following the passage of the Fourteenth Amendment—so that no one is enslaved as are those Nienstedt opposes: the LGBT community, heterosexuals who want a baby but cannot have one “in the traditional manner as ordained by [g]od”, and those who do not fit into rabid religiosity that Mr. Nienstedt demands. Their bully pulpit’s billy club is the multi-redacted specious ersatz bible, their attack is their mind crippling sermons, and their goal is mythological Matthew 10:34 (added at a later date but one verse that all prayer warriors hail as authentic) that crystalizes on putrescent platforms more in keeping with theaters than the mutilated, misconstrued message of Jesus on prayer (Matthew 6:6: σὺ δὲ ὅταν προσεύχῃ εἴσελθε εἰς τὸ ταμεῖόν σου καὶ κλείσας τὴν θύραν σου πρόσευξαι τῷ πατρί σου τῷ ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ ἀποδώσει σοι (the Latin Vulgate is: tu autem cum orabis intra in cubiculum tuum et cluso ostio tuo ora Patrem tuum in abscondito et Pater tuus qui videt in abscondito reddet tibi, while those who openly steal from Latino/a Christians seldom read Pero tú, cuando ores, entra en tu aposento, y cuando hayas cerrado la puerta, ora a tu Padre que está en secreto, y tu Padre, que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará as it would cost them their royalties and rich life style; the myth in Luke 16:19–31 comes from older antecedents, including Jewish and ancient Egypt–see The Interpreter’s Bible, Vol. 8 (New York: Abingdon Press), p. 290, and Bauckham, Richard (1998). The fate of the dead: studies on the Jewish and Christian apocalypses. Leiden, Netherlands: E. J. Brill, p. 101).
Minnesota is the only state seeking to ban same-sex marriage in its constitution in 2012 (other states did that at earlier dates), and Nienstedt is working closely with other treacherous theological benighted traitors to the USA: the odious opportunistic Council of Roman Catholic bishops and clergy leagued with marginalized cults and their ludicrous leaching leaders transuding thought in the states of Washington, Maine, and Maryland where the people are seeking to legalize marriage equality.
Guilty of money laundering, Nienstedt does not report the tremendous amounts of cash he has received surrepititiously from NOM and various other certified hate groups, including the The American Family Association, Focus on the Family, and iniquitous institutions working to overthrow democracy in the USA.
As the Star-Tribune reported: “Nienstedt is not a new disciple to the traditional marriage campaign.”. Nienstedt has a long and sordid, solid, and strangling history of opposition to human rights. For example, as the Star-Tribune detailed: In 2006, as bishop of the diocese of New Ulm, Mr. Nienstedt mobilized Catholics to send postcards to lawmakers urging them to support a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. His church paid for the cards and postage from private tithes of parishoners who had marked the money for use in repairing the church and other institutional needs: not one gave money to launch the genocidic war Nienstedt invisions. Neinstedt’s using contributions as if they were his own furthers the criminal culpability of the German Pontifex Maximus (a title for ancient Roman war emperors who took on the role of high priest of the state in charge of keeping the gods peace while wearing golden bee-hives symbolic of their strength; this title remained secular until 375 CE, and in the East it was known as ἀρχιερεὺς μέγιστος), Josef Ratzinger, who has struck out as he did when a Nazi Youth, to destroy personal prerogatives and human rights.
Not long after he was patrimonially promoted to archbishop in 2008, Mr. Nienstedt ordered an end to the gay pride prayer service at St. Joan of Arc. The medieval Roman Catholic Church accused the “Maid of Orleans” of being a lesbian at her trial since she wore the clothes of a man. This act was seen by English prelates as a sign of cross-dressing that was denounced because of a misreading of Deuteronomy 22:5. Joan’s judges, who were much like Nienstedt, ridiculed Joan for her difformitate habitus (degenerate clothing) and the fifteenth century accounts skirt on the issue of transvestitism. Joan was bullied by the breiers of Rome for such alleged but unproven charges even during her execution by fire.
The Roman Catholic Church in Minneapolis that had become embittered with tart and tangled traditions forfeited the backing of more contemporary clerics who understood the benefits of diversity. They stood silent, however, as the war on human rights fired out of the maniacal magnum mouth of the homophobic psychopathic prelate (cp. Poteat, V. Paul; O’Dwyer, Laura M.; Mereish, Ethan H. (2012). “Changes in how students use and are called homophobic epithets over time: Patterns predicted by gender, bullying, and victimization status”, doi: 10.1037/a0026437; Journal of Educational Psychology, Vol 104(2), May 2012, 393-406). Most who are as homophobic as Nienstedt, who labor to hide homophobia behind a stained curtain of self-righteousness and religiosity, are actually afraid that their own homosexuality will become apparent (cf. Stotzer, Rebecca L.; Shih, Margaret (2012). “The relationship between masculinity and sexual prejudice in factors associated with violence against gay men”, doi: 10.1037/a0023991; Psychology of Men & Masculinity, Vol 13(2), Apr 2012, 136-142. Special Section: Recent Research on Gay and Bisexual Men) as seen not only in Nienstedt but especially in such rabid anti-LGBT people as Maggie Gallagher and Billy Graham. Homosexuality has been the whipping boy for contemporary 20th-21st century Christianity, whereas in the introduction of the Christian Church created at Nicaea in the fourth century CE, it was an assault of “effeminancy” and “inverted” sexuality. Anti-LGBT tirades, such as those by Gallagher and Bryan Fischer, Pentecostal, Southern Baptist and Mormon leaders frequently lead to suicides that the religions deny are the result of intolerant faiths, especially among the Mormons and Pentecostals. Only with parental support, as in the case of the mother defending and seeking support for her child, does the chance of suicide as a result of bullying lessen (cf. Poteat, V. Paul; Mereish, Ethan H.; DiGiovanni, Craig D.; Koenig, Brian W. (2011). “The effects of general and homophobic victimization on adolescents’ psychosocial and educational concerns: The importance of intersecting identities and parent support”, doi: 10.1037/a0025095; Journal of Counseling Psychology, Vol 58(4), Oct 2011, 597-609).
Before the 2010 election, Nienstedt sinisterly defied IRS code against church being involved in political affairs by leading a move to send DVDs opposing same-sex marriage to 400,000 Catholics in Minnesota. He rabidly took a staring role in speaking out against human freedom by giving a six-minute introduction. He was hailed as if he were a new messiah (from the Aramaic word meshiha that means “anointed” and “warrior”), and exposed the duplicity of the Roman Catholic Church and the venal, viciously self-serving American Council of Roman Catholic Bishops in breach of federal laws. There is no given answer why the IRS tolerates the American Council of Roman Catholic Bishops and has not yet expelled the bishops from the USA, even though there remains a growing abundance of evidence that the bishops are foreign agents of a subversive country intent on transmogrifying the laws and judgments of courts created by the Constitution of the USA.
Nienstedt’s continuing attacks on personal freedom, human and civil rights reached the nadir in his attack on a mother who was defending her child. It seems as if the suffragan would have squealed with delight if he could have gone after the New Testament Mary while making sport beneath the cross where her son was hung as congregants rallied around to hurl bullying insults and protestations in anticipation of one more death. Nienstedt has proven himself to be the greatest of all bullies in Minnesota, and his petrifying presentation has been taken up by parish pastoral pedophiles and prelates who appear in red dresses and white lace in public as they condemn cross-dressers.
Nienstedt had become the new Mephistopheles of the Roman Catholic mission in the USA. Nienstedt has egregiously exposed the Roman Catholic Church clergy as being among the most despicable and pathetic predators of the twenty-first century.
Truth Wins Out (TWO) Executive Director Wayne Besen noted in a statement concerning the reprehensible letter of the sinister subversive Nienstedt: “It is appalling that Archbishop Nienstedt chose to issue such an un-Christian response to a vulnerable member of his flock who came to him seeking help.” Besen’s rejection of the calloused crassness of Nienstedt that few had the courageous composure to say in exsposing this emulator’s expository attack on American values of fair play and respect for others who are a diverse as drops of rain: “[Neinstedt’s] letter shows just how deeply held his anti-gay views are.” Neinstedt made clear he has only one goal: the bowdlerise of all factual evidence–a blackguard attack laid out in his dissertation in the same manner Adolf Hitler penned his passionate prose to damn and destroy all Jews in his blueprint for a Holocaust throughout the world: Mein Kampf.
In his invidiously insensitive letter, Nienstedt wrongfully wrote that Catholics are obligated to believe the Church’s official teachings on homosexuality. For too long the Roman Catholic Church has struggled to deaden reason, corrupt learning, and cancel the conduct of inquiry as if it were in sisterhood with the Southern Baptist Convention and religion’s attack on science. This commiserable comment ignores history, existing copies of scrolls in the churches of the fourth century and used by Eusebius when he wrote the Bible on the order of the Emperor of Constantine I (Eusebius, Vita Constantini, IV,36-37). No such teaching existed anywhere in the Bible as it came into being toward the end of the fourth century, and it was not known by either chrestianos or christianos.
The word homosexual was not even coined before the second half of the nineteenth century; neither homosexual nor homosexuality was known (much less alone used) in the Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek versions. It is not found in any Bible before 1954 and then it is out of context. The words “homosexual” and “heterosexual” were coined by Károly Mária Benkert (a.k.a. K.M. Kertbeny) in 1869. “Homosexual” was not used in among psychologists until 1892 when it was taken up, with trepidation, by Charles Gilbert Chaddock and then was used in a psychological framework (ref: Chaddock, Charles Gilbert (1892), trans. Psychopathia sexualis, with special reference to contrary sexual instinct: a medico-legal study by Richard von Krafft-Ebing. Philadelphia, PA, USA, and London, UK: F. A. Davis Co. Original was published in German in 1886 under the title Psychopathia sexualis : eine klinisch-forensische Studie and the neither the word homosexuelle nor the word Homosexualität appears in the first edition; the one cited here is an authorized translation of the seventh enlarged and revised German edition).
John Becker, Director of Communications & Development for Truth Wins Out added: “Telling the parent of an LGBT child that she ‘ought not to participate in the sacramental life of the Church’ unless she renounces her pro-equality views – and that her ‘eternal salvation may well depend upon’ her willingness to accept the Catholic Church’s anti-gay teachings – is spiritual bullying of the highest order and utterly reprehensible. What kind of spiritual leader demands that a mother reject her child in order to save her soul?”
What is spiritual bullying? It is not uncommon anywhere. Religion and its formal organizations has always been among the greatest bullies and leads to the greatest number of suicides. Spiritual bullying is trying to
- get someone to behave by threatening them with God’s wrath.
- control another’s actions by appearing superior to them.
- get someone to believe by threatening hell.
This is the same absurdity pushed by Dominicans, Franciscans and other Inquisitors in the darkest days of Europe when the Roman Catholic Church in the West and the Orthodox Church in the East. In both cases, state-sanction religion destroyed lives, communities, and knowledge by elevating mortals to the ranks of gods—that met the ultimate insanity with the proclamation of Infallibility that is found nowhere in any Bible and had never been subject of councils or courts but pushed through by the unholy Pius IX at Vatican I.
The fantasy that homosexuality is a matter of choice (denied by the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Pediatric Association and more than one-hundred professional mental health entities) and people can “pray away the gay” is the cornerstone for corrupt and disreputable people such as Marcus Bachmann and his wife Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), Rick Perry (R-TX), Bryan Fischer of the certified hate group American Family Association, the Cathys of Chick-Fil-A, and the Roman Catholic Council of Bishops, evangelical bishops such as Harry Johnson of Maryland, and others who make money by offering prayers for those who pay.
Harry Jackson, a Pentecostal preacher and self-ordained bishop and has no authentic credentials as Pentecostals do not consecrate bishops, owns two homes in Silver Springs, Maryland, has become rich preaching hate, and is equal to Adam West (R-FL) not only in claiming that homosexuality is a choice, but that all LGBT can automatically chose to change their nature that has been with them since birth. Jackson has declared that LGBT have stolen “the rainbow” and are attempting “to recruit children” accusations that Dr. Martin Luther King rejected and his wife (Coretta Scott King), until her death, claimed evangelical extremists condemnation of Gay people to be a lie. Mrs. King, went so far as to claim that racism and homophobia are identical, distancing herself from her niece Alveda who has libeled and slandered her aunt and uncle and the message that Dr. King preached.
Harry Jackson’s continues to defy Matthew 7:1 and the message of the Jesus he pretends to preach. His credential are none existent: he attended Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where he played football, and later, while working at Corning Glass in Corning, New York, founded his own church.
Jackson’s congregation is basically caucasian and have the mentality of Westboro Baptist Church that is anti-everything but their narrow reading of the bible. Jackson has never studied theology and is totally ignorant of Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek and Latin, and reads a poor contemporary translation of the Bible, a version that not only is reprehensible but one that has no relationship to the original scrolls that Constantine I approved at his Council of Nicaea.
Unlicensed and repudiated Marcus Bachmann (he is married to Michelle Bachmann) continues to offer the rejected therapy since Minnesota laws are lax. It is illegal in California to offer this “reparative therapy” that leads to more suicides than helps anyone.
What would be best for the Minnesota community is that Nienstedt be ejected from the USA and deported to Vatican City as a spy and henchmen for Ratzinger. While the early founders and first groups of Presidents of the USA rejected any role for any particular religion in the government of the USA, after the Civil Wart the government became enslaved to pastors, preachers, priests and other parasites so such deportation is not possible at this time.
The government of the USA must take into consideration the basic mental of its citizens, as suicide rises in Minnesota, especially in Minneapolis and St. Paul and throughout the 6th congressional district that has been grossly misrepresented in Congress Michele Bachmann where suicides are epidemic. Bachmann’s hysteria has caught the attention of the media, but she continues to run for Congress after losing her bid for the Republican nomination for President after she vowed to turn the USA into a theocracy (read here and here).
Nienstedt’s rejection can have devastating consequences for LGBT youth. According to a 2009 study conducted by San Francisco State University researcher Caitlin Ryan and published in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics (123:1 346-352; doi:10.1542/peds.2007-3524; abstract is here), LGBT teens who experienced negative feedback from their families were 8 times more likely to have attempted suicide, 6 times more vulnerable to severe depression, and 3 times more likely to use drugs than teens who did not experience negative feedback (cp. Toomey, Russell B.; Ryan, Caitlin; Diaz, Rafael M.; Card, Noel A.; Russell, Stephen T. (2010). “Gender-nonconforming lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth: School victimization and young adult psychosocial adjustment”. doi: 10.1037/a0020705; Developmental Psychology, Vol 46(6), Nov 2010, 1580-1589).
“He silenced his priests under the order of obedience,” said Ed Flahavan, a member of Former [sometimes written as Resigned] Priests for Marriage Equality, a group that went public in May with the names of 80 former Minnesota Catholic priests against the amendment, noted in a Star-Tribune article, that Mr. Neinstedt silenced priests under the falsely labeled “order of obedience.” Flahaven commented, “It’s the first time in my experience or knowledge that kind of blanket order has been given” in this archdiocese.
Teachers who encourage critical, independent thinking are removed from teaching in Roman Catholic schools. Those who reject unconsciousable ultimatums from bishops are fired. This miscarriage of justice, so common in the Roman Catholic Church, occurred with Trish Cameron.
Ms. Cameron was a fifth-grade teacher at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Moorhead. She wrote on her review that while she does not agree with all of the Roman Catholic Church’s teachings, but noted in plain English that she does not bring her personal opinions inside the classroom. When Ms. Cameron was required to explain her written response, she replied: “I do not agree w/ all Church teachings on a personal level but I do not bring my own opinions into our religion classes. We tend to focus on respect and love for one another and living out our call as servants whenever a ‘political’ topic crops (which it rarely, if ever, does).” After her truthful answer was reviewed she was then ordered to submit her resignation.
Individual Catholics have seen their parishes dictatorially directed to ferment committees to work for passage of the antedeluviant amendment against human rights that Nienstedt, who shows full signs of mental illness, demands. The archdiocese, following the fanaticism of Nienstedt also appointed married couples to talk up marriage at Catholic high schools.
The majority of Roman Catholics in Minnesota have walked out when Nienstedt’s screeds on the LBGT community or same-sex marriage are read.
Nienstedt is single-handedly killing the Roman Catholic Church in Minnesota as the bishops, and cardinal of Ireland killed the Church in the one nation that was, in the past, the most loyal to Rome–few Roman Catholics have any allegiance or praise for Ratzinger or for his bishops and or cardinals.
Nienstedt asked priests to recite a “marriage prayer” during mass and claims, in total ignorance of the Bible that marriage has always been between one man and one woman. There is no “marriage prayer” in any ancient text, scroll, gospel, or other writing. Nienstedt’s stagnant stupidity on scripture defies the imagination of even those with the most marginal mental abilities, as the grotesqueness of Nienstedt’s raw rhetoric ignores facts easily found in any Bible. As for Nienstedt’s false and obnoxious claim that the Bible defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman, is easily disproved. For example:
Genesis 4:19 says “Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah.” This marriage is scoffed at with the claim that Lamech was of the House of Cain.
Jacob was not of the House of Cain. He also had at least two wives: Leah (Genesis 29:17) and Rachel (Genesis 29:27). They were Jacob’s first-cousins. This is incest.
Abraham married his half-sister (Genesis 12:10-20), Sarah (Genesis 11:29-31), then “married” (had sex with) her servant Hagar (Genesis 16:1–21:21). After the death of his wife Sarah takes another wife, Keturah, who has six sons (25:1-4).
Esau, the elder twin son of Isaac and Rebekan (Genesis 25:25) married frequently. The names of Esau’s wives differ in two traditions (Genesis 26:34 and 28:9; cf. 36:2-3).
Moses had at least two wives. One was Zipporah who was Moses’ cousin: (Exodus 2:15-16 and in Exodus 18:1-6) and continued the Egyptian practice of female circumcision (Exodus 4:24-26). Moses’ second wife was the “woman of Ethiopia” (cf. Numbers 11:35-12:2).
Moses’ polygamy is matched by Elkanah. Elkanah had two wives: Hannah and Penninah (1 Samuel 1:2).
David had numerous wives. Michal was his first wife and the daughter of King Saul (I Samuel 18:20, 28). Michael was unique. She is the first Biblical woman to tell a man that she loved him (the Hebrew word is ahava but it does not mean a romantic love). Saul set a bride-price for the groom David to merit the hand and virginity (hymen) of Michal: he was required to risk his life harvesting the foreskin of 100 Philistines (a tale that is from ancient Akkadia). David returned with the required foreskins–plus 100 extra foreskins to make a total of 200 (following the myth of Hercules as well as several leaders of ancient Egypt, Crete, and elsewhere).
David’s second wife was Ahinoam. She was the wife of King Saul and daughter of Ahimaatz (I Samuel 14:50). She was the mother of Amnon. David married her while Saul was still alive and had not divorced her. This constitutes bigamy as well as adultery.
Abigail, mother of Kileab, was the wife of Nabal (whose name denotes a fool or glutton), a wealthy landowner in the Hebron. She is praised as wise and beautiful (I Samuel 25:3) especially in contrast to her husband–a sign of a rise in misogyny and gender stratification. She was David’s third wife.
Maacah, mother of Absalom and Tamar and daughter of King Talmai of Geshur, was David’s fourth wife. She was not very popular and David seldom had sex with her. Maacah’s unpopularity is never truly disccused, only the dowry she brought with her before David took her hymen as a “blood offering.”
Haggith, the mother of Adonijah, was David’s next wife. Little is written about her. It is assumed it was a political match, and there is no record that David ever loved her or had many children by her. She was consigned to the coldness of a royal harem.
Eglah was David’s sixth wife. She was the mother of Ithream. She, too, was discarded and sent to the harem.
David chose Abital as his seventh wife. She was the mother of Shephatiah.
David’s last wife was Bathsheba, mother of Solomon. David married her before her husband was dead. David had his friend, Uriah the Hittite, who slept at the foot his bed, killed so that he could marry Uriah’s wife (2 Samuel 11). This is a story of lust, premeditated murder, and carnage–that Nienstedt’s absence of comment or condemnation adds these abuses of women to the Roman Catholic Church’s list of family values, in keeping with James Dobson and other sychophants of Christianity.
Bathsheba is named as the daughter of Eliam (II Samuel 11: 3). Eliam was the son of Ahithophel who was one of David’s counselors (II Samuel 23:34). David had sex with her despite the fact she was menstruating, which was illicit according to Jewish law (Leviticus 20:18) and carried with it the punishment of death. Neither David nor Bathsheba were killed, indicating either that the incident occurred before the writing of Samuel, or that the story itself was a fantasy and Leviticus was of a much later date.
It is quite possible that David married his own sister. According to the Book of Chronicles David had a sister named Abigail (I Chronicles 2:16). Abigail’s husband is named Ithra (or Jether) (2 Samuel 17:26; and I Chronicles 2:17). It is possible that after Nabal’s death David’s sister ruled over Hebron. That baits the question of whether or not there were two Abigail’s – one being David’s third wife and the other being David’s sister, who most likely were sisters-in-law. There is even a possibility that they were the same person. All of these potentialities imply that David married his sister after the death of his rival Nabal to inherit her estates. This is incest and suggests murder but keeping with lore of ancient Abirus in the day they were transmogrified into Hebrews but latter-day apologists.
Could David marry his sister?Yes, it was not unheard of in the ancient Middle East (cf. Levenson, Jon D. (1978) in Catholic Biblical Quarterly, p. 27). It was common among warriors (David, actually, means “general” or “leader”), high priests and kings.
David is accused of two sins: murder and adultery. In the case of adultery death is penalty for both the man and the woman (Leviticus 20:10). It is suggested by several scholars that David had sex (marriage) with his own granddaughter (2 Samuel 15). That is incest throughout the Torah, yet David is considered a hero, parsing the mythology of David to have taken centuries before the texts were written. David is most likely a legend and never was a man.
The story of David’s sexual prowess and interest does not stop with women. King David also loved at least one man (Jonathan).
David’s love for Jonathan is Biblical evidence that marriage (sexual) union occurred between men, as with David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 18:1-3). In the account we read the Hebrew word ahab. It is used to describe how Jonathan loved David. Ahab does not mean “platonic” love. It is a word for physical union, an action common in all military societies from the Apiru mercenaries in Egypt to the soldiers of Spara.
The word ahab ccurs 208 times in the Hebrew text of the Old Testament. It is translated love in the KJV 169 times and occurs in the story of David and Solomon in 1 Samuel 16:21, 18:1, 3, 16, 20, 20:17 and II Samuel 1:26. All indicators reveal that this love was not platonic but sexual with love: a committed union between two members of the same gender (2 Samuel 1:26).
Solomon outdid all of the men in the Old Testament for polygamous marriages–including with general, furnishing the background for the account of Muhammad wedding seven-year-old Aisha. Solomon had 700 official wives and 300 concubines (1 Kings 11:1-3).
Nowhere in the Bible is there a statement that marriage must be between one man and one woman, and there are few instances where that occurred. Polygamy is far more common.
Jesus never married—except for one inclusion in a fourth-century Coptic scroll that is already in debate–at a time the Emperors of Rome were forming and formulating the Christian church. All other “canonical” books—determined not by theologians but by Constantine and his fawning pawns known as bishops at the emperor’s Council of Nicaea—claimed that Jesus did not even have a girlfriend. Instead a man (John, according to some, and James, according to a few others, slept on his chest: John 13:23) and was followed out of the garden one night by a naked youth (Matthew 14:51-52) before zombieswould rise from their tombs and storm Jerusalem (Matthew 27:51-53).Thousands of Minnesota Catholics angered by the church’s campaign have joined the opposition, said the Rev. Grant Stevensen, faith leader for Minnesotans United For All Families, the lead group working to defeat the amendment. Minnesotans with whom I have visited over Nienstedt state that he is not only “out of touch” with reality, but heralds back to a Dark Age when self-appointed guardians of the faith could browbeat faithful into confessing any absurdity or committing any crime in the name of religion. This proved itself when signs proclaiming “Another Catholic Voting No” sprouted on lawns of Roman Catholic family homes, and on bumper-stickers of cars owned and operated by Roman Catholics.
Roman Catholics have continued to come out to support civil rights, supported by veteran civil rights leaders. Rev. Stevenson has been in the forefront of the fight, and has been with veteran civil rights leader Matthew Little in demanding fair treatment for all in the area of jobs, education, and society–but not with the support of the Neanderthan Nienstedt of St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota.
U.S. bishops who have recently fought against same-sex marriage — including the well-known bigot Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone in San Francisco who has been arrested for driving drunk, a dedicated homophobe who fought all the way to the US Supreme Court to keep hidden the amounts of money paid to cover up pedophiles in his diocese and who is accused of his own sexual pecadillos and who opposes any form of birth control Archbishop William Lori in Baltimore (he has abused more restrictions of IRS code than any other prelate in the Roman Catholic Church), and Archbishop Charles Chaput (who opposes federal government health care reform, and restored a pedophile to the priesthood) in Philadelphia — won promotions afterward–and most likely will be named cardinals of the dying Roman Catholic Church. Nienstedt would be well-positioned for promotion to a larger diocese–and a cardinalate.
Earlier this year, a Catholic priest under Nienstedt leadership hosted a mandatory assembly on “Normal Life” at a Minneapolis high school where seniors were told gay marriage is akin to bestiality (originally authored by Missouri State Rep Steve Cookson and wife Joy), and adopted children are not normal. Many students exited to bathrooms and cried pitifully against the harsh and unfounded sentences by the trio who set themselves up as authorities–yet not a one is a trained, educated or registered psychologist or psychiatrist, and what they said is at best defined as garbage. Numerous psychological and pediatric studies have proven this charge to be a lie. A study by Goldberg, Abbie E.; Smith, JuliAnna Z.; Kashy, Deborah A. (2010). “Preadoptive factors predicting lesbian, gay, and heterosexual couples’ relationship quality across the transition to adoptive parenthood.” doi: 10.1037/a0019615 Journal of Family Psychology, Vol 24(3), Jun 2010, 221-232, shows that there is no difference in attitude, depression or exhilaration or positive outcomes between LGBT and heterosexual parents. This is concurred with in the study Goldberg, Abbie E.; Smith, JuliAnna Z. (2010). “Perceived parenting skill across the transition to adoptive parenthood among lesbian, gay, and heterosexual couples” doi: 10.1037/a0017009.Journal of Family Psychology, Vol 23(6), Dec 2009, 861-870, although gay men were found to be more adaptable to parenting than the other subjects studied. Patterson found that there is no psychological reason to discriminate against gay parents (Patterson, Charlotte J. (2009). “Children of lesbian and gay parents: Psychology, law, and policy” doi: 10.1037/0003-066X.64.8.727. American Psychologist, Vol 64(8), Nov 2009, 727-736. Tornello, Farr, and Patterson (2011), argue that positive parenting comes with self-actualization and acceptance of by the parent of the parent’s sexuality, sexual orientation and lifestyle—and is equally valid both among heterosexual parents and gay parents (Tornello, Samantha L.; Farr, Rachel H.; Patterson, Charlotte J. (2011). “Predictors of parenting stress among gay adoptive fathers in the United States. doi: 10.1037/a0024480. Journal of Family Psychology, Vol 25(4), Aug 2011, 591-600. Contemporary psychology, psychiatry, and pediatric psychology rejects the protestations and pronouncements of Nienstedt on the LGBT family and his hysteria against same-sex marriage. Nienstedt’s arrogance and stupidity actually outdoes the ignorance of Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne who has debilitated, devitalized, enervated, and emasculated the Roman Catholic Church in Perú–and is one of the most vial, vitriolic and malicious ministers in South America who anticipates his election as pope to follow the German Ratzinger.
Nienstedt’s preoccupation with homosexuality and same-sex marriages indicates that Nienstedt could be homosexual and is in a state of denial. What Nienstedt and others, especially in the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church ignore is that socially constructed identities that have formed over decades and centuries may be in conflict with one another and thus lead to a persecution complex or a complex demanding persecution of what the one in power sees as social deviancy. Current psychological studies show that issues around sexual orientation were the catalyst for questioning or changing religious affiliation or beliefs (Sherry, Alissa; Adelman, Andrew; Whilde, Margaret R.; Quick, Daniel (2010). “Competing selves: Negotiating the intersection of spiritual and sexual identities”. doi: 10.1037/a0017471. Professional Psychology: Research and Practice, Vol 41(2), Apr 2010, 112-119; cp. Erikson, Kai T[heodor]. (1966). Wayward Puritans: A Study in the Sociology of Deviance. New York, NY: Wiley; cf. Erikson, Kai Theodor; De Giorgi, Alessandro [trans.] (2005). Streghe, eretici e criminali: devianza e controllo sociale nel XVII secolo. Roma: Carocci, 452 p. in Italian; it is available in German under the title Die widerspenstigen Puritaner: zur Soziologie abweichenden Verhaltens, Wolfgang Krege; Stuttgart, Deutschland: Klett-Cotta, 1978; Erikson’s classic work has been used as the focal point in two Norwegian works: Helgesen, Janne Henriette Ingarsdottir (1996), Drøft ulike teorier om kriminalisering og straff med utgangspunkt i Rusche og Kirchheimers “Punishment and social structure” og Kai Eriksons “Wayward Puritans”. Oslo, Norway: [J.H.I. Helgensen; written at the Universitetet I Oslo, 2001], and also Scheel, Bente Hagesæther (1996), with the same title, also written at the Universitetet I Oslo, and self-published being 3 bl smaller). The essays of Ingarsdottir and Hagesæther give ample cause to suspect that Nienstedt is seeking personal recognition and possible promotion within the Roman Catholic hierarchy by following rigidly the command of Josef Ratzinger who wants to root out the LGBT lifestyle.
Nienstedt quickly banned freedom of speech on any LGBT issue in any Roman Catholic school, in defiance of the First Amendment that Mr. Nienstedt claims goes against Roman Catholic Church canons, claiming that is what “good” people of Minnesota do, and those who do not agree with his stand intimates that they are “bad” people in Minnesota. This is approximating treason as in a free society all people have the right to criticize, denounce, call-out and argue with anyone, as there is not a single person on this planet who is infallible in anything and all opinions are subject to debate. While there is no single strong person to speak out and demand Nienstedt’s trial and call for his expulsion from the USA, those who call for his execution are neither judge nor jury. The faithful can pray for the death of Nienstedt and the Roman Catholic clergy soiling the earth of Minnesota, but they cannot go further unless they take the option of open revolution as occurred in 1789 in France when the populace overthrew its Roman Catholic leaders and closed its churches.
One DeLaSalle school student held up a poster that proclaimed he loved his two moms. DeLaSalle senior Matt Bliss noted: “You could look around the room and feel the anger.” Bliss said, “My friend who is a lesbian started crying, and people were crying in the bathroom.” The students were quick to post on the Internet their strong feelings against the priest and his message and his co-messengers. Uniformly, the students were wiser than the adults or faculty or church, and quickly rejected the absurdity they heard that homosexuality was equivalent of beastiality. The Roman Catholic Church was rightfully under seige. As the Milan cardinal Martini predicted, the Roman Catholic Church is at the edge of collapse, Nienstedt will push it over the line as there has been no good popes since John XXIII, and the corrupt curia is saturated with graft.
The hypocrisy of the Roman Catholic Church cannot be understated. Pope Benedict XVI is among the greatest monsters. He covered up the molestation of 200 deaf orphans in Wisconsin (read here and here). He openly jockeyed to succeed the Polish pope Karol Józef Wojtyła who used his illness to quest of sympathy, but showed neither compassion to victims of rape nor to the men and women with HIV and AIDS by rejecting condoms as a way to stop the prevention of the equal opportunity virus. His extremism was represented in the US Senate byRick Santorum and in the American Council of Roman Catholic Bishops, but rejected by a growing percentage of Roman Catholics people (47% – 54% of all Roman Catholics surveyed in the USA accept abortion in all cases; read here and here). John Paul II, among the worse popes in modern history, lied when he claimed that the Roman Catholic Church always stood against abortions.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the a Republican National Convention speaker), paid cash to pedophiles and rapist priests so they could escape justice. He called these payments “act(s) of charity” (read here and here). Dolan, like Romney, was involved in moving various amounts of money into different “trusts” that would bankrupt later recipients.

Father Benedict Groeschel, a holder of a Ph.D. in psychology, claimed little children seduced priests into having sex.
Father Benedict Groeschel, of the Conservative Franciscan Friars recently said that oftentimes children are the seducers of pedophiles and claimed himself to be a psychologist (he does have a Ph.D. from Columbia University but rejects any psychological study that goes contrary to what he has determined to be “[g]od’s word) who has shown numerous signs of acute mental illness. His concept of psychology is a pathway to religion and god, lacking all objectivity and never open to peer review ( read: “Anger at Play on Gay Christ,” New York Daily News, 23 September, 1998). Groeschel called Jerry Sandusky that “poor guy“, and argues that children who are attacked by pedophiles are asking for the sexual confrontation (read here and here) and has argued that priests were “entrapped” by children into sex. He will not be punished or reprimanded by the Pope or the Catholic Church. He was defended by Bill Donohue founder and main member of the “Catholic League”.
Nuns on a bus: While leading a nationwide tour to highlight child poverty in the United States the pope condemned them for not focusing on anti-gay marriage efforts and threatened to throw them out of the church (read here and read here). They were attacked by the Tea Party and Republican Party for “speaking ill of Paul Ryan” who they claimed has no “Catholic values”.
The hate-sewers slurry with John Nienstedt and together work with the German pope that will extinguish the torch of learning, darken the cellar of knowledge and restore a final era of hatred almost as great as that lisped by the Tea Party. Nienstedt is the equal to Joe McCarthy’s Jesuit priest Edmund A. Walsh and the Koch family who sustained the first attack on American freedom and the Constitution. Walsh and Nienstedt have been intent on transmogrifying the USA into a theocracy that the Roman Catholic Church would rule as it controlled Franco’s Spain, Pinochet’s Chile, Fujimori’s Peru, and other nations where dissent was not allowed and education rigidly ruled highlighting the lies of the Roman Catholich Church. What all have in common is the signet ring of hate.
When all else is seen as failing, Nienstedt and the American Council of Roman Catholic Bishops bring out the conservative bully club and argue that under Obama the economy in the USA tanked. It, too, is a lie.
The ruse is used by the American Council of Roman Catholic Bishops to hide their racism as many bishops in US history were members of the KKK and Roman Catholic bishops and cardinals supported Hitler in Europe in the days of the Third Reich (cf. Preston, Paul (2006). The Spanish Civil War. New York, NY: Harper Perennial, p. 222 sq). Lutheran and Roman Catholic
Bishops and Roman Catholic cardinals flocked to Hitler. Today their choice, following that of prevaricators such as Billy Graham and Daniel Jenkey, goose-step toward the Romney camp.
At the same time Roman Catholic bishops in the USA have compared Obama to Hitler and claim that they have facts others do not possess (read here and herefor Peoria Bishop Daniel Jenky, a
dissimulator who opposes universal health care, and here exposing the ignorance of the bishops who do not admit that the Obama administration specifically exempted religious groups such as the Roman Catholic Church from being required to provide forms of birth contraception). Jenky has a long history of maligning people, and has won little affection from his community or congregation–his outbursts taken light-heartedly, his demeanor overlooked.
No man who has reached the office of President of the USA has agreed to a union of the state with any religion. Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Baptist congregation at Dansbury, Connecticut promising a strong wall separating church and state, following similar sentiments sounded by George Washington and others in the Continental Congress. Roman Catholics were strongly disliked with a reason in the nineteenth century given their close ties to the Vatican and its incumbant sovereign who demanded treatment as a ruler of a city (Vatican City) and a religion, and under Pius IX (who proclaimed himself to possess near-god-like qualities: being infallible, primary, and supreme; Ratzinger claimed that John Paul II spoke “infallibly” when the Polish pope proclaimed that a woman could [sic; they were in the ancient church, as I develop in my book: Woman as Priest, Bishop and Laity] never be ordained), citizens of the USA had serious concerns and did not vote for a Roman Catholic until John F. Kennedy vowed in Houston, Texas, that he would never be controlled by the Roman Catholic Pope. Even Ronald Reagan, the hero of the conservative movement, refused to accept any church’s interference in the government of the state–although he willingly took Roman Catholic votes to help him win the White House–and then, like most politicians, ignored the American Council of Roman Catholic Bishops.
Harlan Ellison used a phrase, recorded on one of his albums, that fits within the definition of using religion as a base for discrimination: “arrogant stupidity”.
I personally am straight, but shouted with joy yesterday afternoon when I heard a judge ruled the Orwellian-named DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) as unconstitutional! YEAHHH! Every single step our society takes away from control by narrow-minded thumpers of the Wholly-Babble, the better everyone will be, the freer our society shall become, and slowly, surely, our pace into the 21st Century will drag us out of the 15 Century mindset.

I’ve had so many arguments with facebookers and yahoos over the historical basis of the wall of separation and state. Every time it looks like there might be a glimmer of understanding in their posts, they pivot to a hot button that has nothing to do with the original thread. There is a war regarding religion, but it is a defensive battle to return the nation to the basics of the founding generation.
You are correct, Mr. Thompson. The historical basis of the wall separating state from church came from the Danbury (Connecticut) Baptist Convention that was afraid that the local and state government(s) would enforce a rigid definition of ecclesiology (the rule of church over the lives of dissenters: Baptists) and create the same unholy system in Europe that was controlled by the Roman Catholic and Lutheran/Calvinist churches, and the Anglican communion that dominated what was England especially with the rise of the Wesley brothers. Those who love democracy will be on the defense for democracy by repelling any candidate who runs as if he or she was running as the candidate of a god who is intolerant, racist, and ignorant, as with the Prayer Warriors of Palin who cracks racist attacks on her webpage or the everlasting Elmer Gantry (Billy Graham) who scrubs his webpage of anti-Mormon attacks in quest of Mormon financial appeasement in the form of bills and coins. The reason that there is a separation of state and church is that all people have a right to believe in or not believe in any particular faith or god/goddess and can still be good people. Ethics is learned behavior and has nothing to do with any religion; one certainly cannot claim that the Albanian nun who took stolen money as well as the name of Sister Teresa of Calcutta is any paragon of virtue as she rejoiced in human suffering, any more than one can consider the plagiarist Richard Land, one-time leader of the Southern Baptist Convention, to mirror the New Testament Jesus–both were at best cronies of the mythological Saul of Tarsus who transmogrified the sayings of the Jesus of the New Testament into the grotesqueness of fourth century Imperial whim–going from the forgiveness of Matthew 7:1 to the rigorous denunciation and castigation of the infamous letters to the congregations in Jerusalem, Corinth, Colossia, and so forth. If people would study more what is written and think for themselves, they would be quicker to leave the cults of Joel Osteen of Houston who claims that Jesus was a proto-Republican who sought out millionaires, to the threatening John Nienstedt who never saw a freedom he agreed with: much in keeping with the odious opportunist Joseph Ratzinger.
