Rick Perry (August 2004)

When not combing his graying hair into a perfect coif, Texas Governor Rick Perry regally accepts proffered endorsements, and seeks financial and personal support from the most hate-filled religious demigods that have ever existed in US history.  At the same time as he salaciously scoops campaign contributions into his adipocerous war chest from the super wealthy as the Middle Class in Texas and the USA continues to disappear–no longer having money to give to people who might have represented them–he makes new friends given birth by the US Supreme Court that felt no labor pain:  American corporations fully grown and ready for war like Athena sprang from the head of Zeus with Antonin Scalia playing the role of Hephaistos.  Congress, like the US Supreme Court, is up for sale, and with Citizens United v. Federal Election Commision, corporations with unlimited spending power are hailed as new citizens of the USA and openly buy political offices.

Top 10% income (Bush years 2000-2008) share

The number of USA poor is increasing, unemployed and underemployed workers are offered only a few pious phrases and prayers, while the USA education system is bankrupted by the religious and conservative right.   7000 students a day are dropping out of high school, with no state exempt as education falls by the inaction of inept and undereducated state legislators from Texas to Iowa, Nevada to New Jersey, Maine to Mississippi, and across CONUS and into Alaska and Hawaii who have no concept of what it takes to initiate and sustain quality education:  good textbooks written with flare and scholarship that presents current and past information as well as future projections and hypotheses without reinforcing ontological speculation and antiquated concepts (e.g. taking Intelligent Design [creationism] out of the science class and moving it into the world of literature: teachers are not preachers, they are to be trained in disciplines not doctrine and disciplinary denominationalism), a well-trained teaching force, small classes, a well-stocked library, and a dedication to the conduct of inquiry to discover new truths and realities–not a mere repetition of past proverbs and fantasies.  Education does not require facilitators to stumble in the dark with students, but demands highly qualified subject matter experts who can lead students, ask probing questions, solicit and encourage discussion on timely responses, and adhere to a policy of learning and not mere mastering by memorization.

God Moloch's rite of passage

Those whom Perry seeks out for advice, like those whom he styles to be his friends, are in many cases theological terrorists.  Perry’s prayer partners mulct the faithful by drumming on the skins of tattered tithing taught in Old Testament writ, siphoning as much fat from the burnt sacrifice (Leviticus 1:8-9, 12, originally an act of worship to the Babylonian god Moloch (who evolved out of ancient Egyptian theology): (Lev. 18:21; 20:1-5) cf. Legrange, Marie-Joseph (1903), Etudes sur les Religions Sémitiques, Paris: Lecoffre, pp. 99-109; Bäthgen, Freidrich (1888). Beiträge zur Semitischen Religionsgeschichte. Berlin, pp. 237 et seq.) that propriety allows.

Perry’s torn threads of thoughts still linger longingly on the bye-gone days of Texas A&M sporting, more in the manner of Samson (שמשון in Judges 16:25 where the word means “playing with” and “laughing at” the latter being used by evangelicals to claim that the Philistines who were known for sports, blinded Samson so they could laugh at him as he stumbled around; however, “playing with” is more accurate as he was tied to columns which was a torture for men blind who could not see concubines manipulate him sexually; adultery was considered a grave sin, while murder a minor infraction of the law as the Philistines acknowledged that Samson had murdered many of their people) than that of Hercules, bringing to the foreground of his personal battlefront how he can continue the attack on human rights and freedom of choice in backward and bigoted nations bloated with corruption and cruelty.

Perry and his partners in politics and the pulpit have found a new whipping boy to take their frustrations out on: from Uganda to Nigeria, Cambodia to Ivory Coast, and beyond, in anticipation that by flagellating others they will raise consciousness about the plight the USA is experiencing now that it has a Black President. Never once does Perry or his cronies mention that the overwhelming debt burdening those who do pay taxes—unlike large corporations such as GE  and ExxonMobile that pay no taxes to the IRS on the billions they profit from each year.

Cost of war in Iraq and Afghanistan 2001 - 2008

Most of the debt now owed by the USA government was generated by George W. Bush’s needless and ill-inspired costly wars in Iraq (which cost almost $500 billion dollars between March 2003 and September 2007 (on that date the USA had already lost the war in Iraq as the most courageous Senators acknowledged, but Bush remained silent as mandated by the oil industry of Texas, and like Nixon blandly tried to reassure the USA it had won the war  that is more than twelve years in Vietnam, and jetting higher with each subsequent month—and the USA is still in Iraq) and Afghanistan (although there are noticeable differences between the two wars , showing that neither of which the USA had neither a need nor a right to be involved in) that in the first year alone raised the national debt more than 2% and kept skyrocketing every year until Obama became president.

Impact of extending the Bush Tax Cuts

Obama is blamed for the run-away debt that took from 2000-2008 to make the USA the world’s largest debtor nation, especially given the Bush Administration’s tax cuts for the rich.   The superrich, especially big business and the oil industry (led by Vice President Dick Cheney who was CEO of Halliburton—which received most of the contracts in Iraq without bids) were livid when Obama became president and hinted at shutting down both war fronts, a promise he began to keep in August 2010, making American conservatives determined to make Obama a one-term president.

Tea Party racism

The conservatives had one trump card to play to win the support of many people: Obama is Black, and the Tea Party was born (as with the Founding Fathers, few had any respect for Blacks or wanted slavery ended, as in 1776, nearly all colonialists believed Black people were property and expendable at the will of their owners ; Michele Bachmann, who would fail any history exam about the USA, would not eve merit an F on this point). This is in keeping with the NAR and all ultra-right evangelical fundamentalist groups of calumniators and malcontents who would destroy the Constitution to put in a theocracy that would limit government to a chosen few.

NAR's Jesus

The extent of the NAR loathing goes beyond detesting draconian demons perceived to exist in mainline religion, to outward outrages attacking, raping, murdering and mauling infants who are quartered and their mouths cut apart while rejoicing that “heathens” had been dispatched, to the assassination of opposition leaders, hanging of homosexuals, and the killing of nursing mothers, workers, the disappearing Middle Class, and the elderly. No one is spared in the war to restore a demented vicious, violent, volatile Jesus Christ of Matthew 10:34-35 [34″Think not that I am come to send peace on earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to `set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.’ [English]; 34 No creáis que yo he venido tan sólo a traer paz a la tierra. 35 Oui, je suis venu opposer le fils à son père, la fille à sa mère, la belle-fille à sa belle-mère: [La Bible du Semeur; Français]; 34 μη νομισητε οτι ηλθον βαλειν ειρηνην επι την γην ουκ ηλθον βαλειν ειρηνην αλλα μαχαιραν 35 ηλθον γαρ διχασαι ανθρωπον κατα του πατρος αυτου και θυγατερα κατα της μητρος αυτης και νυμφην κατα της πενθερας αυτης [Greek, 1550 Stephanus New Testament]; 34 nolite arbitrari quia venerim mittere pacem in terram non veni pacem mittere sed gladium 35 veni enim separare hominem adversus patrem suum et filiam adversus matrem suam et nurum adversus socrum suam [Biblia Sacra Vulgata, Latin]; 34 Не думайте, що Я прийшов, щоб мир на землю принести, Я не мир принести прийшов, а меча. 35 Я ж прийшов порізнити чоловіка з батьком його, дочку з її матір’ю, і невістку з свекрухою її. USA military scopes with Bible verses

The NAR is not alone. All religious fanatics do the same but the NAR fanaticism found at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs (that, until 2011, had mandatory indoctrination courses in evangelical Christianity, and with the rest of the military of the USA installed scopes with Bible passages and used various armaments with NAR designated Biblical references), and among the NAR groups in India (where the evangelical group, originally known as Morning Star [originally the name of Venus; second: one of the three Zorya (a pre-Christian Trinity), goddesses in ancient (pre-Christian) Slavic theology who watch over the doomsday hound:  Simargl, who is chained to the star Polaris in the constellation Ursa Minor (popularly known as the “little bear”)–if the chain ever breaks, the hound will devour the constellation and the universe will end; third, a name of The Satan (הַשָׂטָן) who was neither a “fallen angel” in Isaiah 14:3–20 {that discusses an ancient king of Babylon} nor in 2 Peter 1:19–the only time it is used as a proper name in the Bible is at 1 Chronicles 21:1, while in Babylonian theology (Job 2:1) he was a favored “Son of God” and in Septuagint 108:6 κατάστησον ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἁμαρτωλόν καὶ διάβολος στήτω ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ; fourth, the “dawn-bearer” Ἑωσφόρος (Heōsphoros) in ancient pre-Christian Greek theology and as the god Φωσφόρος {Phosophorus}; fifth, in Christology, in Revelation/Apocalypse 22:16, one of the names for Jesus: this has led to several theories including that Jesus and Satan were brothers (even twins) or that one conquered the other, etc. as an original claim by the LDS (Mormons: Doctrines and Covenants 76:25) and now rejected.  In Christian organizations, Morning Star is the name of the Providence religious movement of Korea and Japan; it remained through the nineteenth century a ritual ceremony including human sacrifice performed by the Pawnee tribe] now referred to as Every Nation), China, Vietnam, Thailand, Uganda, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and other backward nations and institutions from schools to universities and postgraduate centers is an acceptable part of the Christian Bible and the NAR.

USA Christian soldiers in Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison

Terrorism, torture, violence, rape is all acceptable, as the NAR finds justification for what more traditional believers would find gruesome and immoral within their Bibles, specially in: Numbers 31:7, 17-18, including the butchering of everything that breathes: Deuteronomy 20:16, with 1 Samuel 15:2-4 noting that “suckling infants” were killed by the tens of thousands by the god of the evangelical Christians and NAR who refuse to read “the Lord’s” instruction in Psalm 137:8-9, and so forth).

Jesus in the NAR army

For most of the NAR, including the Governors of Texas and Kansas, Jesus walks in the heavens, preparing to return to the earth carrying a gun to initiate his ApocalypseDouglas Evans Coe  (born October 20, 1928), a founder of The Fellowship (also known as The Family of Friends) a far-right group of theological terrorists, compared the Family of C Street and their Jesus’s teachings to the Red Guard during the Chinese Cultural Revolution:

I’ve seen pictures of young men in the Red Guard of China… they would bring in this young man’s mother and father, lay her on the table with a basket on the end, he would take an axe and cut her head off…. They have to put the purposes of the Red Guard ahead of the mother-father-brother-sister — their own life! That was a covenant. A pledge. That was what Jesus said.”

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA)

(Sharlet, Jeff (2008). The Family: the secret fundamentalism at the heart of American power. New York: HarperCollins, p.255.)  Pedophilia is among the sex acts encouraged and ordered in the NAR Bible: Numbers 31:17-18 and 35-40 [cf. Rabbi Joseph in Sanhedrin 7/55B, vol. XXIII.B, Tractate Sanhedrin 1984, 150. See also vol. XIX.A, Tractate Qiddushin 10a-b, 1992, 33. “Menstruating” here of course refers to the ritual “flux uncleanness” described in Leviticus 15]. Such excesses are excused by the evangelical group known as The Family on C Street in Washington, DC where many evangelical US Senators, such as Ensign (R-NV), Grassley (R-IA) among the most sinister and devious of all Family members who has promised the group that his grandson Patrick would join them when he won a congressional seat and later replaced him in the USA Senate, John Vitter (R-LA), Mike Enzi (R-WY),  Tom Coburn (R-Ok.), now Governor Sam Brownback (R.-Kan.) who led a cell to determine assassinations and influence US foreign policy based on what Doug Coe saw as expedient in

Gov. Sam Brownback (KS)

returning The Imperial Jesus to the earth.  Kansas Governor Brownback has been hailed as “God’s Senator” for bringing other senators, representatives, and governors (SC Governor Mark Sanford, who admitted and adultery in 2010, and current SC Governor Nikki Haley now accused of her second adulterous affair), etc. live and meet other evangelicals.

The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is even more dangerous to human freedoms, civil rights and democracy than is the nefarious and noxious Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

The confessing churches of the WELS keep the hate-filled messages of Martin Luther, reading them, praising Luther as if he were a god rather than a mad monk.  The NAR practices Luther’s suppression of women and oddities too numerous to number here (such as burning synagogues, Torah, and Jews), in the same way as Luther’s spiritual son, Adolf Hitler, used the ex-Augustinian’s words and works to kill more than ten million people (Luther’s Works, Volume 47: The Christian in Society IV, (Philadelphia: Fortress Press, 1971). pp 268¬-293).  Luther has been, rightfully compared to the Pakistani Taliban that prohibited all self-identification, self-actualization, and self-expression, with his Vom Kriege wider die Türken (War Against the Turks) used as a foundation for US operations against Muslims (Luther was always a man of contradictions, originally writing against resisting the Turks, whom he presented as a scourge intentionally sent by God to sinning Christians, and that resisting it would have been equivalent to resisting the will of God).

Rick Perry as Jesus (Texas Observer)

The NAR is composed of apostles and prophets each singularly and all collectively intent on and determined to deny democracy, take over the world, and rule as a theocratic state devoted to a monstrous Jesus Christ who will personally slay all those who deny him or oppose him. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), has, by its own admission become the principal endorsers, and have assumed the title and label anew as being “eternally ready” soldiers in  “Rick Perry’s Army of God.”

The Texas Governor has been portrayed as the Jesus Christ of the Second Coming (picture).   Some have hailed him as St. Michael, complete with sword in hand, while others question if the sword is phallic in nature.

C. Peter Wagner and a NAR revival

The NAR’s bantam-weight intellectual godfather, C. [Charles] Peter Wagner, is a classic and his words and instructions match those of Cambodia’s Pol Pot, Georgia’s Josef Stalin, and Idi Amin(his official title was his entire title: “His

Idi Amin accepting the allegiance of British members of his army

Excellency President for Life, Field Marshal Alhaji Dr Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC, CBE [Conqueror of the British Empire]). Amin nearly destroyed Uganda during his reign of terror from 1971-1979 through gross human rights abuse, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings, nepotism, corruption, and gross economic mismanagement.  The number of people killed as a result of his regime is estimated by international observers and human rights groups to range from 100,000 to 500,000 who Uganda Pentecostal and extremist evangelical groups hailed as “God ordained” actions against the infidels (meaning anyone who opposed Amin).   Despite Amin’s record of human rights abuses, the Uganda mass murderer was appointed to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights from 1977 to 1979.

What little is left of the African nation of Uganda is, today, being destroyed and its people divided into armed camps by NAR.  It is buttressed by evangelical extremist Pentecostals who intend to obliterate its fledgling democracy completely.

NAR pastor Scott Lively

Most of Uganda’s most draconian, prudish, punctilious, puritanical, rigid anti-human rights legislation, both proposed as well as passed, has been legislation that was “urged” on the legislators, by some accounts, by American evangelicals.  These include:  Scott Lively  (Lively is president of Abiding Truth Ministries, a recognized hate organization based in California, spiritual advisor to George W. Bush) who advised the Ugandan Parliament on the issue of homosexuality in March,

Don Schmierer of NAR

2009, praying fervently that the Ugandan Parliament kill all homosexuals as he hopes would happen in the USA.   Scott Douglas Lively is joined by a host of other evangelical extremists and theological terrorists including Caleb Lee Brundidge, and Dan Schmierer who is a Board member of Exodus International: an unlicensed organization that tries to “reform” gay men, and founder of His Servants, a Christian youth ministry.   Some of the most radical members have been denounced by different traditional Christian groups.

The most hate-filled self-style evangelist with no formal theological training is Bradlee Dean[Smith].  His vociferating words are hungrily sought out and internalized by Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN), giving “her comfort” when her incapacitating migraines keep her from effectively working in the US Congress.

Michele Bachmann - Bradlee Dean

Dean/Smith created an organized hate group known as You Can Run But You Can’t Hide, to go after homosexuals in Minnesota and throughout the USA and world to kill them.  Dean has publicly claimed that Christians in the USA do not have the courage to act like the demented mullahs and ayatollahs in Iran that sends scores of LGBT to the gallows regularly “to please Allah” with no age

Ronnie Paris Jr. (murdered by his father who was afraid the boy was gay)

limitation (some are as young as four years-old if caught touching another male’s genitals).

In the USA, Ronnie Paris was afraid that this his 3-year old son, Ronnie Paris Jr was “soft” and told a friend that he “didn’t want him to be a sissy.”  The child’s aunt told law enforcement that the father “was concerned that the boy might be gay,” and so killed the child.

Dean appears to be terrified of homosexuals.  Like the Muslims he claims to abhor, he seeks the same dispatchment of homosexuals by any means, sacrificing LGBT people who defile his concept of righteousness to the

Iran hangs teenagers suspected of being homosexual

Christian version of the monstrous deity Iran worships.  Dean/Smith questions what is wrong with USA Christianity that it is not identical to Shari’a law when it comes to homosexuality.

In this hate speeches, Dean/Smith is supported by the calamitous and malevolent WELS congregations that support Dean’s position.  The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church is, in many ways, like the Evangelische Kirche in Deutschland a combination of Lutheran, Calvinist and other Protestant denominations.   The Lutheran Church in Germany that encouraged Hitler to put into concentration camps for forced labor and then to execute homosexuals “for the greater glory of god” (Neimöller, Pastor Martin (1937). First Commandment, London: W. Hodge and Co., Ltd., pp. 58-59), and USA homes from New Jersey to New Mexico, Iowa (compare the Flag Day in Boone County; Ed Failor leads the Koch Brothers funded Iowans for Tax Relief) to Idaho and Nevada fly the Nazi flag.  Today, the Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche has no resemblance to WELS in the USA.

Bryan Fischer "Not one more mosque" broadcast"

Much of Dean’s support comes from Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association told listeners of his radio show on Thursday that the Nazi Party in Germany was formed in a Munich gay bar by “homosexual thugs” while his own organization is a recognized hate group. Fischer’s knowledge of history is as weak as his knowledge of the Bible, and yet he is in the forefront of those demanding blind allegiance to the NAR that helped Perry to “unite politics and Christianity” in the USA, and would lead to the violent overthrow of democracies around the world so that a Christian theocracy can be the sole ruler over everyone.

Bachmann - Pawlenty debate in Iowa 2011

Dean is the drummer for a Heavy Metal group known as Junkyard Prophets , hammering home with honed drumsticks a message of despair and damnation, publicly ranting that the USA should kill homosexuals, a message endorsed by Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer and former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and Congresswoman Bachmann (R-MN) proclaiming Dean’s YCRBYCH as a “group of nice people” and the Anoka-Hennepin School District, in Michele Bachmann’s Congressional District, where an epidemic of suicides among students continue to occur while its evangelical/WELS leaders follow Martin Luther and condemn the Pope as the Antichrist as the Wisconsin Evangelic Lutheran Synod has no resemblance to Christianity and like Martin Luther read selectively, totally ignoring Matthew 7:1 and Acts 10:24.

WELS sits in silent agreement with Dean (who argues that the use of mind-altering drugs lead to demonic possession and sinful behavior, outside of mainstream Christian and psychological studies determination), yet Dean has had past problems with alcohol, drugs, sex, and other vices, and sports a tattoo that is forbidden in his Bible (Leviticus 19:28; 1 Corinthians 16:19-20).  Dean has had numerous problems with the laws of various states, as until 2010, Dean was a member of Oregon-based Embassy of Heaven that ran a fraudulent tax scheme with Glen Stoll to avoid IRS obligations, a self-described “Christian Patriot” organization which subscribes to Sovereign Citizen ideology—the idea that citizens are themselves sovereign nations and therefore not bound to the laws of the United States and does not hesitate to shoot any law enforcement officer or military personnel on sight.

Dean openly attacks public school students secretly giving into all vices to which he himself was addicted. In this regard, Bradlee Dean Smith’s god speaks to him directly as his “ministry”, it is reported, is under observation by the Internal Revenue Service.

C. Peter Wagner, one of Perry’s early endorsers, brags that the NAR is the most significant change in how Christianity is practiced since the Protestant Reformation of Martin Luther. This is frightening as the mad monk of Germany wrote that peasants who did not passively obey their lords or leaders should be executed like pigs (Luther, Martin. Werk: LW 46:50; read the text of Wider die räuberischen und mörderischen Rotten der Bauern: “Against the Robbing and Murdering Hordes of Peasants, see text is found in Weimar Ed. 18:357-61; Erlangen Ed. 24:288-94; St. Louis Ed. 16:71-76; Clemen 3:69-74; Berlin Ed. 7:346-52.

German Peasants War (1524) and religious rhetoric

Throughout the corpus his writing (in the last one hundred years it has been published in fifty-five volumes), Luther emphasized that stabbing those in revolt was following the precepts outlined by St. Paul in Romans:

Martin Luther and the Peasant Army (1525)

Not only was Luther against workers and peasants (and in this Luther is matched by the Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, son of a Wisconsin Baptist preacher), but also Jews and Muslims, writing that Islam is a “patchwork of Jewish, Christian, and heathen beliefs,” and seeing the work of the devil behind it (Werk, LW 46: 155-205), wishing he could murder 1000 Muslims a year (Werk, LW 54:40). Luther wrote in a letter to Nicholas Amsdorf on May 25, 1525:

My opinion is that it is better that all the peasants be killed than that the princes and magistrates perish, because the rustics took the sword without divine authority. The only possible consequence of their satanic wickedness would be the diabolic devastation of the kingdom of God. Even if the princes abuse their power, yet they have it of God, and under their rule the kingdom of God at least has a chance to exist. Wherefore no pity, no tolerance should be shown to the peasants, but the fury and wrath of God should be visited upon those men who did not heed warning nor yield when just terms were offered them, but continued with satanic fury to confound everything. … To justify, pity, or favor them is to deny, blaspheme, and try to pull God from heaven.”

Like Anders Behring Breivik of Norway and C. Peter Wagner of the USA, the mad monk of Germany wrote that the Qur’an is such a “great spirit of lies” that it leaves “almost nothing of Christian truth [is] remaining” (Werk, LW 54:181), thus the only explanation for its numerical success lies in “God’s wrath” (Werk, LW 54:179). The WELS continues to endorse and support the anti-Semitic, misogynistic, homophobic, and undemocratic writings of Luther, especially in reference to the pope, whom they call the Anti-Christ, and the Jews (whom many still call “murderers of Jesus” and similar fiction), making itself a premier organ of religious hate in Christianity.  WELS argues as the End Times cult leaders from the LeHayes to Harold Camping, C. Peter Wagner, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, to Perry, et al.,  that “the destruction of the world is to be expected every hour.”

Ragnarok (engraving)

Far from the “destruction of the world” being Biblical, it actually comes from the Norse saga Ragnarök and became a part of the Danish novelist Villy Sørensen’s Ragnarok: En gudefortælling, published in Danish—and found its way into NAR Christian mythology. The myth of End Times has captured the imagination of tens, even hundreds of millions of followers worldwide, with the NAR’s stress on “godlike” prophetic and apostolic powers, its revisions of end-time prophecies, its methodology of “spiritual warfare” (see his self-published  Confronting the Powers: How the New Testament Church Experienced the Power of Strategic-Level Spiritual Warfare [pp.21-22] and Engaging the Enemy), and its agenda of theocratic dominion over all aspects of society.  In Engaging the Enemy, Wagner argues that spiritual warfare as having three levels (there are four levels in traditional-mainstream Christianity; the actual antecedents are pagan and known long before Judaism or Christianity was known; this is attested to by some of the earliest christian writers before there was a Christian church established by the Emperor Constantine in 325 CE: Gregory Thaumaturgus, the Wonderworker, (d. 260) supplies an example of a power encounter with demons.

Forced by a storm to spend the night in a pagan temple that served as a seat of demonic powers, Gregory “purified the air with the figure of the Cross [and] spent the entire night in prayer and singing hymns according to his usual custom. In this way [Gregory] transformed the place into a temple of prayer which had been profaned by unclean sacrifices and images.” (Gregory of Nyssa, “The Life of Gregory the Wonderworker” prepared by Gunter Heil, in Gregorii Nysseni Sermones, Pars 2, (Leiden: E.J. Brill, 1990), 3-57, para. J.20 and J.21)

Martin of Tours (d. 397) led in the evangelization of the pagan countryside of Gaul. On one occasion he engaged in a contest centered on a pine tree which served as the locus of spiritual power for the local population. Upon Martin’s insistence that the tree be destroyed, the pagan priest and his supporters offered to cut the tree down themselves if only Martin would submit to being bound in the place toward which the already leaning tree was sure to fall (Sulpitius Severus, “On the Life of St. Martin” translated and with notes by Alexander Roberts, in A Select Library of Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers of the Christian Church, 2d ser., vol. 11 (New York: n.p., 1894), chap. 13)

with the revised and new three spiritual degrees or steps being:

Spiritual Warfare

Ground Level: Person-to-person, praying for each other’s personal needs.

Occult Level: Fighting demonic forces released through activities related to Satanism, witchcraft, astrology and many other forms of structured occultism, which Wagner associates with “pictures, statues, Catholic saints, Books of Mormon, pictures of former lovers, pornographic material, fetishes, drugs, Ouija boards, zodiac charms, good luck symbols, crystals for healing, amulets, talismans, tarot cards, witch dolls, voodoo items, love potions, books of magic, totem poles, certain pieces of jewelry, objects of Freemasonry, horoscopes, gargoyles, Native American art, foreign souvenirs” etc [see his self published book: Hard-Core Idolatry – Facing the Facts, pp 38-40, 1999, publisher – Wagner Institute of Practical Ministry].

Strategic-Level or Cosmic-Level: Binding and bringing down spiritual principalities and powers that rule over governments.

These are not just threatening to modern secular democracy and the religious pluralism it protects but they have been sharply criticized by other conservative Christians as unbiblical, deviant teachings, even a form of the very demonic practices they obsessively declare war against. The Assemblies of God — the largest Pentecostal denomination in America — condemned some of the NAR’s teachings and practices as “deviant” in 2000, although many within the denomination have since embraced the movement.

Wagner is determined to take control of the world, by any and all force available. The purpose is to compel his Jesus Christ to return as a sword-wielding soldier to root out evil and establish a theocracy that would be universal. Those who will not accept his Jesus Christ would be put to death. This was the message carefully buried in Rick Perry’s widely publicized and criticized evangelical Christian prayer vigil in Houston’s Reliant Stadium on August 6, 2011.

Ayatollah As-Sayyid Ruhollah Mostafavi Musavi Khomeini (Iran 1980)

Rick Perry’s prayer meeting was anything but a non event. Such an assessment is similar to the ones made by past administrations: Carter and Reagan’s miscalculating the Ayatollah As-Sayyid Ruhollah Mostafavi Musavi Khomeini (روحاللّه مصطفوی موسوی خمینی) and his expansion of the ولایت فقیه (velayat-e faqih [translated as “guardianship of the jirisconsult” which means clerical authority in a theocracy]) and the completion of the 1979 revolution; failure of Reagan and George H. W. Bush to understand the politico-religious dynamics of far-off Afghanistan (officially: the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan: جمهوری اسلامی افغانستان; the history of Afghanistan goes back to 50,000 BCE with urban civilization appearing c. 3000 BCE, and has been diverse in religion and politics, being a pawn for various empires from Alexander the Great of Macedonia to the British and Russian empires “Great Game” in the late nineteenth century.  From the late 1970s it has experienced continuous war including major occupations such as that of the Soviet Union in 1979, and in the late 1990s, the invasion of Pakistani military in support of the Taliban. The USA overthrew the Taliban in 2001 and continued to occupy it without regard to Afghan sentiments, religion, or culture, leading it to accept the housing of al-Qaeda and Taliban forces.

Iran has played a significant role in Afghanistan for centuries as ancient Iran established the primary language as a part of the Indo-Iranian language.  It eventually led to the Afghanis giving shelter to Saudis led by Osama bin Laden, whose family was close to the Bush family, especially through oil, training for the 9/11 attacks on the USA.

Mike Bickle skipped college and seminary as "god taught me personally"

What the media has ignored or conveniently forgotten is that “The Response” was never a broadly representative Christian event. Those who endorsed the prayer event are notorious right-wing ideologues and recognized/documented hate mongers. These include, of course C. Peter Wagner, as well as Mike Bickle who allegedly became an evangelical Christian when his football coach paid his way to a Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference in Colorado where he heard Roger Staubach, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, speak about his “personal relationship with Jesus”.  He uses mind-altering repetitive prayers, much as do Hare Krishna followers, to stupefy his congregations who follow him as if he were a god.

Bickle speaks of a personal relationship with god, including one that is telephonic where he actually hears the voice of god as did Moses. As the founder of the Kansas City–based International House of Prayer (IHOP) that, like the International House of Pancakes, is open twenty-four hours to feed souls, Bickle spreads the message like syrup on pancakes, charging tithes to keep his lifestyle like a Belgian waffle.

John and Judith Benefiel

Following in the steps of Bickle, John Benefiel and his wife Judith are the senior pastors of Church on the Rock (that claims to have one thousand members) and the Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network of Oklahoma City. Suffering from delusions of grandeur and seeing himself as a god anointed profit, John went in August 2010, to Washington DC, to exercise his “spiritual authority” to “divorce Baal” and rename the city that bears the surname of the First President of the USA to “the District of Christ.”

John plans, along with Cindy Jacobs and other radical right revolutionaries, to return to DC to lay spiritual “siege” to the city and nation in general: forcing all to turn to accept his concept of a Jesus and a god.   Out of touch with reality and a close associate of the Texas Governor, Rick Perry, Benefiel claims that the Founders named the District it in honor of the goddess Columbia.

Columbia has never been a goddess in any religion.   On the contrary, this “goddess” that frightens the Benefiels is a New Latin toponym for Columb (Christopher Columbus) meaning “Land of Columbus).

Carrying absurdity to the extremes, the Benefiels have libeled the Statue of Liberty a gift from the people of France to the citizens of the USA a “demonic idol” (patterned after a woman whom the Benefiels argue, without historical support, was a goddess worshiped by the Free Masons during the French Revolution) and homosexuality an Illuminati plot .

Cindy and Mike Jacobs

Like Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association, the Benefiels, blame the country’s political problems on the District of Columbia’s supposedly pagan foundations. Following in the footsteps of Benefiel, Cindy Jacobs and husband Mike (a coadjutor in her ministry) of Generals International has a unique record of misstatements, erroneous citations, and total lack of knowledge of hermeneutics and ontology. Like the prophetesses who served as Oracles for the ancient gods, especially at Delphi, Cindy Jacobs claims to have a direct link with her god. This deity, a male, gave her, Kim Clement (who received a surprising and not publicly released personal message from god on February 10, 2007, while in Scottsdale, AZ, for her god told her that the next president of the USA would be male, and according to the published prophecy, this male who will take office in 2008 will find a closeness with god and surprise everyone, for, according to the prophet Kim Clement:

“God says, let Me remind you I will place at your helm a President that shall pray to Me, says the Lord. He will pray to Me. And God says, in the next two terms there will be a praying President, not a religious one, for I will fool the people, says the Lord. I will fool the people, yes I will. God says, the one that is chosen shall go in and they shall say, he has hot blood. For the Spirit God says, yes he may have hot blood, but he will bring the walls of protection on this country in a greater way and the economy of this country shall change rapidly, says the Lord of Hosts. God says, I will put at your helm for two terms a President that will pray but he will not be a praying President when he starts. I will put him in Office and then I will baptize him with the Holy Spirit and My power, says the Lord of Hosts”.

Chuck Pierce Glory of Zion Ministries

and Chuck Pierce (all three being on the Elijah List of promised prophets; Chuck Pierce saw “highways are buckling” as “His Glory and Unity Will Come”—a part of End Times prophecy) the gift of prophecy to see the hurricane devastate Haiti before it happened but warned not to tell the people of Haiti, for the earthquake, as Pat Robertson proclaimed, was divine judgment against the sins of their forefathers two hundred years previously; watch the video here.

Chuck Pierce created his own corporation: Glory of Zion International Ministries, Inc.   Focusing only on prophecy, Chuck travels worldwide to speak on his eleven books, including The Future War of the Church and the Worship Warrior. Pierce has a degree in Business from

Marcus Bachmann practices "reparative" anti-gay therapy

Texas A&M, and has done work at the University of North Texas toward a Master’s degree in Cognitive Systems that he has never finished.  Pierce claims to have a Doctorate of Practical Ministry from the unaccredited Wagner Leadership Institute that has a faculty without recognized credentials and their research is self-published.   The “campus” currently is in California, with “branch campus” in key nations. Courses are primarily on-line or by DVD or CD, much as were the courses for Marcus Bachmann who has an unaccredited “doctorate” in psychology; in some leaflets he claims it is a PhD, but Union (in Cincinnati) only awards Psy.D and they were not accredited until 2005 (after Marcus took his over the internet in “long distance learning”. There is no established campus library, legitimate research is discouraged, and students are expected to reiterate what the “professor” intones.

The outlandish claims of the evangelist Pierce became increasingly less sane with the preachifications of

Randy and Kelsey Bohlender

of IHOP and The Call (headed by Lou Engle, who states that the group denounces “reproductive rights” that he argues is a catchword for pro-abortion rather than family planning, and homosexuality, supporting and encouraging the rapid legislation and enforcement of Uganda’s “kill-the-gays” bill among other anti-gay legislation, which must occur so that The Call can engage in “spiritual warfare” against the Supreme Court of the USA with most citations from the Babylonian myth of Esther.  The Babylonian legend of Esther was adopted and adapted into the Old Testament after numerous arguments on whether or not it was apocryphal or pseudepigraphic.

The Bohlenders style themselves “pro-adoption”.  In truth they are anti-choice as adoption must be of a Christian child to Christian evangelical parents to be acceptable.  The Bohlenders do not believe in birth control (they have seven children) and argue that each child deserves a parent—even an abusive or neglectful parent—provided that the parents are one male and one female in keeping with Biblical law and custom.

Pastor John Hagee, founder Christians United for Israel (2006)

Among the more radical among the group is John Hagee.  Hagee pontificates that when all Jews convert to his Jesus, “the entire nation of Israel will be saved”.   Hagee claims members of all faiths to “seek out the living Christ” at the recent (August 11, 2011) Perry rally in Houston, TX.

When reading the roster of endorsers, including two Roman Catholic bishops of Texas (Corpus Christi and Amarillo) who are under investigation for cover-up of clerical sexual abuse of young people (primarily males: seminarians, choir boys, and altar boys), and one “Jew for Christ” it is not a random cross-section of conservative fustian Christians.  All active participants were Pentecostals of various sects. The fact that there was such an emphasis and disproportionate number of people who are very closely tied together, led by James Dobson and his wife who became wealthy founding and percolating a passionate Focus on the Family in its attacks on they assumed a family was or should be (they were later buttressed by Maggie Gallagher who argues, like the Dobsons that the End Times are upon the world with the legalization of same-sex marriages) and have preached about “the End Times is

Tim & Beverly LeHaye ("Rapture Ready")

near” are like Beverly and Tim LeHaye who founded first (in 1972) the Creation Research Institute, and then the “psychologically-oriented” Family Life Seminars, Inc that has made them financially independent when they created their Left Behind series of novels and fantasy-movies (they are criticized for distorting the Bible and create theology that has no foundation in any religion) that announce the End Times and how those who do not confess Jesus will not be a part of the ancient Hindu belief in The Rapture.

The LeHaye ministry contains a bookstore and various “family shops” that push their self-publications such as the Jesus Chronicles (set is available for $60).   The LaHayes are affiliated with this strain of neo-pentecostalism or charismatic movement, that it cannot be an accident.  Like other evangelists worldwide, Beverly and time cretinously preach “be joyful in your poverty as it is equal to the poverty of our Lord Jesus Christ” and jet First-class to their audiences who are able to pay premium amount for seats to listen to their affirmations of faith.

Vehemently anti-Roman Catholic (he went to Bob Jones University), the LeHayes are opposed to the separation of state and church and prophesizes that Jesus will “restore” a theocracy on the planet and lead a war against nonbelievers.  The Texas GOP has not been neutral.

David Barton

The Texas GOP has been avidly recruiting conservative Christians of all stripes for deep political involvement since the mid-1990s when it gained dominance in Texas and in the US Congress. Former state party vice-chair David Barton, a self-taught revisionist historian, who runs an outfit called WallBuilders out of Aledo, Texas, and played a key role in the pentecostal process and was an endorser, and was hired by the Republican National Committee political consultant in 2004, telling “pastors that they are allowed to endorse political candidates from the pulpit [federal law prohibits that action].”

Barton, like the other evangelists, has formed his own ministry that has made him better off than any of his followers.  Barton has no understanding (or deliberately distorts it) nor formal/academic credentials in history or law, and critics.  Barton denies the Holocaust.  Barton claims all Founding Fathers were Christians, and, like Michele Bachman claims that the Founding Fathers established a theocracy for the new nation.  At the same time, like Bradlee Dean, Barton calls for the death penalty for gays and lesbians claiming such a judgment has always been the rule throughout history.

Critics dispute the accuracy and integrity of Barton’s assertions about history.  They accuse him of practicing misleading historical revisionism and “pseudoscholarship” (cf. Fea, John (2011). Was America Founded as a Christian Nation? Louisville: Westminster John Knox Press. p. xxvi, and Hankins, Barry (2002). Uneasy in Babylon. University: University of Alabama Press. p. 128).  Barton’s boorish rodomontade on alleged USA history, claiming that the wall separating state and church is fantasy and claims that the USA was established as a theocracy, appears in his book The Myth of Separation (1989) and has been animadverted by US Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA); cp. Specter, Arlen (Spring 1995). “Defending the wall: Maintaining church/state separation in America” in Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy 18 (2): 575–590).  Despite all the castigations by serious scholars Barton’s books are hailed and quoted by poorly educated politicians as Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin.

Following in the footsteps of other evangelists who found the pulpit more lucrative than manual work, Barton claims that his god personally ordered him to go to the library and look into the connection between the removal of state-mandated prayer in public schools by the Supreme Court in 1962 and 1963 and the drop in SAT scores (see the video here).  Nearly all of Barton’s citations and quotations are fiction and cannot find substantiation anywhere, such as his claim that President James Madison argued that the future of the new government was “staked upon … the Ten Commandments.” It appears in none of the corpus of Madison’s writings.

Barton claims that the Due Process Clause and the Fourth and Eighth Amendments to the US Constitution came “directly out of the Bible”—but they did not nor is there any record in any of the drafters of the Constitution making such a comment or even an insinuation in their private papers or diaries. Barton condemns the use of Sharia law (Islam) but argues that the courts should use Biblical law.   All of Barton’s books are self-published, and not only have a cornucopia of errors of fact, but even the proofing is poor.

Barton fits into the NAR’s keen interest in establishing Christian dominion over politics as part of their “Seven Mountains” strategy as it rejects, like Barton and The Family of C Street, reality, serious scholarship and peer review.  What is worse is that Barton is becoming the unofficial biographer and has little knowledge of what he is writing about.   While the NAR is eager to elect—if it can control—Rick Perry to the presidency, Perry is not the only potential GOP candidate who is courting NAR involvement and direction. Others “include

Sarah Palin testing another gun

Sarah Palin, who has an over 20-year relationship with Alaskan Apostle Mary Glazier; Newt Gingrich, who was anointed by Lou Engle (who also blessed Mike Huckabee) on an internationally televised broadcast in 2009; Michelle Bachmann [who has declared a war on sin]; [and] Rick Santorum.”

Sarah Palin may have the inside track to NAR since she was mayor of the tiny town of Wasilla, Alaska, and in 2005, was blessed publicly by the self-ordained “Bishop” Thomas Muthee at the Wasilla Assembly of God church.  Muthee is from a somewhat larger Kenyan town of Kiambu, but gained notice when he converted from being a witchdoctor and pagan priest.

Thomas Muthee

Muthee is like all NAR devotees, he lies. Muthee claims that in 1989, he saved the city of Kiambu from “the clutches of crime, car accidents, speakeasies and even late-night discos by driving a particularly formidable witch called Mama Jane out of town.”  This contention is disputed by herbalist Jane W. Njenga, a pastor with the African Mission of the Holy Ghost Church—she is better known as Mama Jane. When she discounted Muthee’s lie that she owned a pet python and was hated, she asked: “If I am bad, why haven’t people attacked me? Why haven’t they burnt this building down? That is what people here do to witches.”

Kenya's Pastor Jane Wanjiku Njenga whom Thomas Muthee claims is a witch

Pentecostal Apostolic Pastor Jame Wanjiku Njenga is right, for eleven elderly Kenyans (mostly women) were burned to death in May after locals accused them of being watches, torched their homes, and committed other atrocities against those they believed were responsible for the death of a child, HIV-AIDS, and even rape, murder, and cattle rustling. The majority of the people are poor, but as Jane Karande said, “If you want to get rich fast, just start a church”.

Bachman praying for the defeat of health care for all Americans

To push its flagitious agenda, the NAR is working at infiltrating government: both with staff as well as with politicians. The 2012 race is critical, as the NAR wants a member to be elected as President so that Medicare and Medicaid will be destroyed and people will have to call upon the god of the NAR, and social security is to be done away with so that families become stronger and help their elderly relatives.   All of this is based on the premise that everyone will “turn to Jesus” when the evangelicals’ Jesus returns as a great warrior in the Apocalypse and destroy all who do not believe in him or the NAR. It is for that reason that Perry produced his prayer fest, Bachmann, Palin, Santorum and other politicos headed to Iowa where religion is strong, public education growing increasingly weaker as the venal Iowa legislature attacks it and Iowa teachers identical to the pattern set by Rick Perry in Texas, and investigation of claims nearly non-existent (both Iowa and Texas want a voucher system–with Branstad of Iowa’s proposals actually a weight thrown against learning–so that parents can elect parochial learning over solid public learning and indoctrinate their children in the fantasies of the Middle Ages, but like all states, Iowa and Texas suffering under Tea Party mandates for textbooks that are blatantly inaccurate and damage learning and where the Texas governor has little support from the teachers) try to proclaim their educational excellence when it does not exist).

Politicians go where the energy and money is as they need both to be voted into office or returned to office.  Politicians seek out people who put together a network, as does the NAR that has a strong networking scheme, as seen graphically in the Heartland Apostolic Network that has a presence in all 50 states.

Most candidates can publicly identify themselves with the NAR without anyone else being the wiser, as the NAR promises anonymity. Like many other movements, the NAR has its own lingo that allows politicians to speak directly to NAR members in coded language. This allows politicians to directly soliciting their support, telling them “I’m one of you” without anyone else realizing what’s being said. This happened repeatedly in 2008, when Palin openly talked about “prayer warriors”: those who are part of the NAR’s spiritual warfare program and in training for the Final Battle.

The NAR uses the expression “the head and not the tail” as the “battle cry for the Seven Mountains Campaign.” The Seven Mountains are actually seven spheres of influence that make up the mind molders that control Nations. He who occupies these mountains controls the harvest. Into this mix comes the ancient Babylonian Advocate who once was a god, but is still styled as a “son of God” (Job 2:1). According to the Old Testament and the Babylonian texts, Satan only has as much power as granted by senior gods (elohim: אֱלהִים). These gods allow Satan (הַשָׂטָן) over these mountains so that he can increase his own capacity for “Mind Control.”  That is what the NAR desires: total control over the minds of others, much in the same way that the mythological brother of Moses, Levi, gained control over the Hebrews and lived comfortably off of demanded tithes. The Seven Mountains (mind molders) are (1) Spirituality and Church, (2) Family, (3) Education, (4) Government and Law, (5) Media and Communication, (6) Arts and Entertainment, and (7) Business and Finance—all seen by the NAR as their path to a theocracy, misusing (as did the ancient Hebrews) the message of Joshua 1:11: עִבְרוּ בְּקֶרֶב הַמַּחֲנֶה וְצַוּוּ אֶת־הָעָם לֵאמֹר הָכִינוּ לָכֶם צֵידָה כִּי בְּעֹוד שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים אַתֶּם עֹבְרִים אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן הַזֶּה לָבֹוא לָרֶשֶׁת אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם נֹתֵן לָכֶם לְרִשְׁתָּהּ׃ (a repeat of Joshua 1:2), which grants the Hebrews the right to steal the land of others and use it for themselves—never once in this text does it claim that the land always was and would always be the right and lawful property of the Jews.

Before the Habiru came into the Palestinian lands of Cana, they had been a band of thieves in India. The Habiru (the name is found in Akkadian cuneiform scripts that has led many scholars to argue that the Habiru first infiltrated Egypt and then traveled east to conquer Canaanite cities, among which would be Sodom, Gomorrah, Zoar, and what would become Jerusalem; the name is found in various Sumerian, Egyptian, Akkadian, Hittite, Mitanni, and Ugaritic sources, dated, roughly, between 1800 BCE and 1100 BCE, to a diverse group of people living as nomadic invaders in areas of the Fertile Crescent from Northeastern Mesopotamia and Iran to the borders of Egypt in Canaan where they were always low-level workers) carried out their carnage and assault on civilization until they finally settled in what would become Judea.  As conquerors, they incorporated the Canaanite goddess Asherah (Venus) as the consort to their agricultural god Yahweh. This program of incorporation became the seed for dominionism of the NAR.

The campaign for dominionist control is an evangelical effort to penetrate and transform public life into one of total spirituality associated with a theocracy where religion rules; for example: Iran and the total government and laws (based on the Qur’an) agenda.  What is to be substituted by the NAR is the Qur’an with their Bible.  It is the “taking control of the “Seven Mountains” (such as the legendary Seven Hills of Rome), but these are grand, or fortified mountains. It is to these mountains Jesus is to descend on his return to earth, and from these mountains Jesus and his army will wage warfare.

Dominionism is funded, in the USA, by the Republican Party (GOP = God’s Own Party).  Dominionists believe that Christians alone are Biblically mandated to occupy all secular institutions until Christ returns—but there is no consensus on when that might be.   For the Weekly Planet, John F. Sugg wrote:

Dominion theologians … preached … that it was Christians’ job to take over the world and impose biblical rule. Christ would not return, they said, until the church had claimed dominion over all of the world’s governments and institutions … In 2000, the Republican Party of Texas declared that it “affirms that the United States is a Christian nation.” Last month, [February 11, 2004,] that sentiment reached the national level. The Constitution Restoration Act of 2004 was introduced into Congress.   Among the sponsors of the bill are Rep. Robert Aderholt (Alabama), Rep. Michael Pence (Indiana), Sen. Richard Shelby (Alabama), Sen. Zell Miller (Georgia), Sen. Sam Brownback (Kansas), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (South Carolina).  The House version is H.R. 3799 and the Senate version is S. 2082.  The bill limits the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts to hear cases involving “expressions of religious faith by elected or appointed officials,” and be required to acknowledge Christianity’s God as the “sovereign source” of “our laws.”

If the proposed legislation had passed, it would have reached back in history and reverse all judicial decisions that have built a wall between church and state, and prohibit federal judges from making such rulings in the future. By becoming “the head and not the tail” the USA would cease being a democracy.

The “head and tail” too often spoken of by the NAR is taken from Deuteronomy 28:13.  It gives the chosen ones of god (NAR) the authority to rule (cf. Deuteronomy 28:14.

Mushussu (Babylonian god)

NAR apologia is from the Old Testament–only small bits are from the New Testament, and then focused on Matthew 10:34.  The “head and tail” is not unique to Judaism nor the NAR, but is not unique with either.  The “head and tail” reflects the ancient Babylonian god mushussu [from Mushhushshu {dragon}]:  a hybrid creature covered with scales, having a serpentine head to symbolize wisdom that is why the Serpent in the Garden knew scripture and could debate Eve.  It had a head that had the double horns of the Arabian horned viper. It had front legs like a lion and the claws of a bird of prey, while its tail terminated in a scorpion sting; these gods were depicted without wings and thus walked the earth or crawled around trees.  The creature’s purpose was to arouse: to stimulate eroticism and sex, with the Babylonian Tree of Life being the erect penis that would generate life if worshipped with caresses.

Babylonian solar disk "Ashur" (Tree of Life)

The Hebrews called it “the Beast” (the talons appeared in the form of mathematical numerals: 666) and was transmogrified into Babylonian armies that fought on the fields of Gog and Magog (Hebrew: גּוֹג וּמָגוֹג‎; Arabic: يَأْجُوج وَمَأْجُوج).  It is a part of the eschatological and apocalyptic fantasy in Genesis 10:2.   The fiction that a warrior king (messiah: מָשִׁיחַ or مسيح) would rule over the earth from Gog and Magog is found only in the Dead Seal Scrolls: cf. Bøe, Sverre (2001). Gog and Magog: Ezekiel 38-39 as pre-text for Revelation 19,17-21 and 20,7-10. Mohr Siebeck (Wissunt Zum Neun Testament Ser. II, 135), pp. 173-175 and 311-315; read it online  (it loads slowly).

1874 map of Gog, Magog, Gomer, Togarmah

The publisher notes, John alleged author of the Apocalypse, errors in attempting to make ethnic enemies of the people of Gog and Magog whereas there is no historical or linguistic proof of this fantasy; at best the ancient tribes were neighbors who refused conversion to a more primitive theology:

Babylonian tale of the evolution of Jeohovah

It  is a pre-Babylonian theological concept that comes from various Ethiopic

Initializing the Hapiru

tribes (then known as Mwluhha, who ultimately

Hapiru in Egyptian hieroglyphics and lore

settled in Sumeria) who settled into seven spheres (or districts).  These spheres were for the introduction of elements that would create gods who would give birth to demigods (such as Yahweh) and then to giants, and ultimately to man.  It would give way to the evolution of the Hyksos who were wanderers.  The Hyksos would enter into Egypt, and from their work as laborers, giving rise to a poor class known as Hapiru (Habiru).   From these people the Egyptian theology would be transferred into a local ontology that would be carried to Sumeria.  The material that was falsified, or plagiarized, became the focal point for the NAR and End Times ministries since it detailed the heavenly battle and final purge on earth that is only barely mention in the Apocalypse of John (the Book of Revelation): a work of fiction similar to Mel Gibson’s bastardized movie “The Passion of Christ”.

The NAR aims to re-establish these seven spheres and obtain complete dominance of human society around the world.  This message has greater power than merely opposing abortion or gay marriage as Jesus will make all laws and those who protest will be dispatched from life.  Surprisingly, the words of Wagner and his cohorts pass unnoticed by reporters unfamiliar with the NAR. This is tragic as the entire NAR theology is based either on Wagner penned fiction or ancient tales predating Babylon, Akkadian and older societies that have appeared in mistranslations or bad interpretations in modern writings gleaned from ancient scrolls and cuneiform inscriptions.

While the media is making calls to Perry camp now that the Texas Governor has declared his official candidacy, the NAR has a national contender that can count on to carry the torch of intolerance into the nation’s battle ground around the ballot box.  One thing, however, is clear:  Governor Perry is not the only state-level figure connected to the NAR. If the NAR prophets are correct, he will not defeat the current incumbent in the White House who, according to the prophecy, is guaranteed two terms.

Wagner/NAR broadcast that church growth was limited in some places because of demonic power. This will change when their candidate assumes office as President of the USA.  At that point, the NAR can initiate the process of “spiritual mapping”:  a geographical approach to demon-fighting.  Establishing geographic dominion over cities and states such as through the Iowa Caucus, and then primaries in other states, makes perfect sense on the way to controlling the USA and similarly dominating and ruling over whole nations that will eventually the world if there are powers that can be controlled.  This will come to pass, the NAR details, when it is closely aligned to big businesses (such as the Koch Brothers, who are numbered in its membership) that can rapidly funnel money into political races where the conservative elements, most of which are NAR adherents, have registered for a place on the ballot—at all levels, as with Scott Walker and the GOP in Wisconsin where $25 million was thrown into GOP war chest to fight a recall in August 2011, and Terry Branstad the GOP in Iowa (Branstad, a Norwegian-American Lutheran from Leland, Iowa, took an undergraduate degree from University of Iowa and a degree in law from Drake University, with some of his classmates musing that he slept through any course in ethics, which may have influenced his indecision and inaction when his son Eric, then sixteen years old, on August 18, 1991, killed an elderly couple: Charles E. McCullough, age 65, and his wife Jean M. McCullough, age 60 in a car accident.  The sitting governor did nothing and media focused its attention on the murderer, not on the McCulloughs who were passed over with the annotation “the elderly couple”.  Eric was fined a token $15 even though he was driving 10 miles over the speed limit and had been drinking alcohol.  What did happen afterwards demonstrated the father’s power over the agreeable legislature, as Terry petitioned the state legislature to amend its capital punishment law, but without affecting Eric.

Eric had only minor injuries but was airlifted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Mercy Hospital, while the older McCullough had to wait for an ambulance despite sustaining injuries that would lead to death.  Many in Iowa questioned this decision. The hospital refused to comment after the accident, and when I telephoned, I was informed that the statutes of limitation had expired and it was confidential.

Terry Branstad (Iowa Governor) during an interview February 10, 2011

After Branstad served his final term [he filled the office of governor from 1983-1999, making Terry the longest-serving governor in Iowa history, he was also the youngest governor, taking the office when he was 36], Branstad became President of Des Moines University: a post-graduate medical school.  The appointment was political, but paid better than any other job Branstad had before.  After winning a return to the State House in 2010 that was funded with out-of-state money from the Koch Brothers and Tea Party supporters, he continued to collect his original pension as governor ($50,000), plus residuals from Des Moines University (in 2008, he was earning $357,000), plus his salary as a sitting governor ($130,000)–making him among the highest paid Iowans; however, his current salary will not reduce his retirement benefits, unlike other retired state workers under age 65 who return to service, because of a provision he signed into law as governor in 1992 that exempts retirees who return as elected officials from pension cuts, which many Iowans see as  hypocritical given the governor’s plans to slash public spending and his calls for shared sacrifice.  His clique of inept, marginally educated and weak on thinking members of the Tea Party/GOP who are more worried about protecting big-agribusiness from being exposed for animal cruelty than concerned about education in Iowa has taken over control of Iowa’s government reducing Iowa transparency in government by vetoing legislation that would have opened to the public the meetings and records of the School Administrators of Iowa, and his friend and crony who became Superintendent of Education has as much merit as Rick Perry’s chief in Texas), and so forth.

It is not surprising to see where NAR-related individuals have gained state-level power: they are rigidly conservative, Tea Party controlled, and bent on changing the entire fabric of civilization and culture in the USA. The most famous member of the NAR is Sarah Palin. She became governor of Alaska (resigning after two and one-half years to promote herself for the USA presidency), was the Vice Presidential running mate of John McCain.  Currently Palin is aiming for the presidency of the USA.

Little was said or written about her deep involvement with the NAR as Mayor of Wasilla.  There has been scant attention paid to her being blessed by NAR apologist and warrior Bishop Muthree, but it is now clear that she first joined a statewide “prayer warrior” network under NAR Apostle Mary Glazier when she was 24 years old.

Protest against banning books

When Sarah Palin first ran for Wasilla City Council in the 1990s on an explicitly religious platform, it was unprecedented for the town but perfectly normal by NAR standards.  Banning books from the public library when she became mayor was similarly unsurprising once you understand the dominionist ideology she embraced as the NAR is determined to control what is read, listened to, and seen.  It is quite possible that Palin sees herself as a chosen vessel through which God is working to bring this nation closer to Him, and with her demonic ability to attract large angry crowds makes her especially dangerous.   The only thing that could stop Palin is if there is sufficient proof that she was not the mother of what she claims is her fifth child–a claim that has been doubted since the child’s birth:  she never experienced morning sickness, never felt the constant urge to urinate, never experienced any discomfort in getting into or out of any vehicle, and never mentioned feeling the fetus/baby kick.  Sarah gave a speech in Texas, then flew back to Alaska, all the while having labor pains–which is next to medically impossible.  It is impossible if one blogger in Alaska is correct, that Sarah Palin had a tubal ligation (she had her tubes cut) after her last baby (Piper) was born, in which case that would make the baby the first baby by her daughter Bristol.

Westboro Baptist Church Rev. Fred Phelps (Kansas)

Governor (and former US Senator) Sam Brownback of Kansas doesn’t have anything close to Palin’s longtime involvement as a prayer-warrior foot-soldier, but he has played a highly visible role as a general while serving in the Senate before becoming governor. While in the Senate, Brownback spent years supporting the NAR’s “reconciliation” strategy with Native Americans, both sponsoring legislation and appearing at NAR events.

Westboro Baptist Church protest

Brownback was the only sitting governor to accept Perry’s invitation to attend The Response, and it is worth noting that Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas: a state that is home to numerous fringe groups hiding behind the mask of religion (Kansas and Iowa have six active hate organizations, California has sixty-eight, and Texas fifty-nine).  The Westboro Baptist Church is among the most hate-filled institutions in the USA and is openly calling for the execution of homosexuals, demanding that couples stay married, that education follows scriptural guidelines, and so forth—all in keeping with the NAR.

In Hawaii in 2010, before now-governor Ambecrombie joined the race, both the leading Republican and Democratic candidates for governor were deeply involved with NAR. They had almost achieved their goal of making the election irrelevant for their purposes. This changed, as Bruce Wilson, wrote in his blog post, Christian Right Claims Both 2010 Hawaii Gubernatorial Candidates. It began with a quote from Ed Silvoso urging people in New Jersey to kill LGBT members.  Silvoso is a global NAR leader who is intimately involved with promoting the Ugandan “Kill the gays” law, and who has argued that Hawaii could lead the nation in assassinating homosexuals: “It doesn’t matter if the Republican or the Democratic candidate wins the governorship [of Hawaii]. Either one is already in the kingdom”.  Uniquely, the Democrat, Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann, is a Mormon, despite the fact that the NAR regards the Mormon church as being under demonic control — the same as the Catholic Church.  NAR groups even go so far as to burn the Book of Mormon as a form of “spiritual warfare” (taking the idea (misinterpreted) from the Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 6:11-18:  11ενδυσασθε την πανοπλιαν  του  θεου  προς  το  δυνασθαι υμας στηναι προς τας μεθοδειας του διαβολου 12οτι ουκ εστιν  ημιν η παλη προς αιμα και σαρκα αλλα προς τας αρχας προς τας εξουσιας προς τους κοσμοκρατορας του σκοτους του αιωνος τουτου προς τα πνευματικα της πονηριας εν τοις επουρανιοις 13δια τουτο αναλαβετε την πανοπλιαν του θεου ινα  δυνηθητε  αντιστηναι εν τη  ημερα τη πονηρα και απαντα κατεργασαμενοι στηναι 14στητε ουν περιζωσαμενοι την οσφυν υμων εν αληθεια και ενδυσαμενοι τον θωρακα της δικαιοσυνης 15και υποδησαμενοι τους ποδας εν ετοιμασια του ευαγγελιου της ειρηνης 16επι πασιν αναλαβοντες  τον θυρεον της πιστεως  εν ω δυνησεσθε παντα τα βελη  του πονηρου τα πεπυρωμενα σβεσαι 17και την περικεφαλαιαν του σωτηριου  δεξασθε και την μαχαιραν του πνευματος ο εστιν ρημα θεου 18δια πασης προσευχης και δεησεως προσευχομενοι εν παντι καιρω εν πνευματι και εις αυτο τουτο αγρυπνουντες εν παση προσκαρτερησει και δεησει περι παντων των αγιων but the term “spiritual warfare” exists nowhere).  What is bizarre within in the NAR is that they condemn Mormons and the Book of Mormon but allow Mormons to join their “reformation revolution” like Hannemann.

The Republican Lt. Gov. James “Duke” Aiona, is positively Palin-like in his NAR enthusiasms: In 2004 Lt. Governor James “Duke” Aiona, dedicated Hawaii and its public schools to Jesus.  Aiona did this to show contempt for the separation of state and church and to prove to his Jesus that he would stand ready to fight for the Kingdom Come.  To the chagrin of both of the official candidates, longtime Democratic Congressman Neil Abercrombie entered the race and won.  The NRA was livid.

To hide its racism, as does the Tea Party (the NAR controls nearly all of it), the NAR branch of the GOP has been working to recruit conservative Blacks to enter political races.   The NAR and Tea Party/GOP know that if Perry is the GOP nominee and runs for president, his success may depend on minority voters.  Including minorities is the political arena with white people is unique within the NAR and is strikingly different from old-school fundamentalists and Jerry Falwell’s Religious Right. While the NAR is trying to form its own ‘Rainbow Coalition’ in the Religious Right, it is still excluding minorities (Blacks, Asians, Native Americans, and so forth who are homosexual or who are liberal) which the NAR frequently confuses and joins the two groups together.

Maggie Gallagher

In 2008, NAR joined Maggie Gallagher in declaring Proposition 8 (legalizing same-sex marriages) was inspired by the Devil and under demonic control.  Then there are additional qualifiers: religion (you have to be their brand and mode of Christian, or a “Jew for Jesus”), of antiquated education (you can not affirm, adhere to or express any acceptance of evolution or modern science), matrimonial status (if you are married, you must stay married even if one of the spouses is in an adulterous lifestyle, molest children, and so forth), as marriage is termed to be “indissolvable”.  Lou Engelwants a new breed of black prophets to rise up and use their social justice civil rights kind of bona fides to lend authenticity and

GOP candidate Herman Cain

credibility to the anti-abortion and anti-gay rights movements by claiming, as GOP contender Cain states, he cannot change his skin color, but he can change his sexual orientation (a reality that is impossible as noted by both the American Psychological Association and American Psychiatric Association (that has boldly declared that homosexuality is not a choice) and condemns “reparative” psychology and counseling as fraud and practiced by Marcus Bachmann, husband of NAR/GOP/Tea Party candidate Michele Bachmann.  The APA judged:

“The potential risks of ‘reparative therapy’ are great, including depression, anxiety and self-destructive behavior, since therapist alignment with societal prejudices against homosexuality may reinforce self-hatred already experienced by the patient. Many patients who have undergone ‘reparative therapy’ relate that they were inaccurately told that homosexuals are lonely, unhappy individuals who never achieve acceptance or satisfaction. The possibility that the person might achieve happiness and satisfying interpersonal relationships as a gay man or lesbian is not presented, nor are alternative approaches to dealing with the effects of societal stigmatization discussed.” [Position Statement: Psychiatric Treatment and Sexual Orientation, American Psychiatric Association, 1998].

It is the fraudulent, nearly criminal and totally un-American, practices of people like Marcus Bachmann that have led to the rise of suicides among homosexuals. There has been a distinct and numerically verifiable escalating number of homosexual suicides occurring in Michele Bachmann’s congressional district. The number of suicides by the LGBT community in Michele Bachmann’s district has reached an epidemic position that Michele refuses to address while new suicides spike.   Marcus Bachmann has lied regularly when queried about his “clinic” being anti-gay and conducting fraudulent and harmful “reparative” counseling whereas, in fact, the Bachmann Clinic is nothing more or less than a house of prayer where the alleged counselors “pray away the gay”.  As I have noted before, Bachmann does not have a PhD in psychology or counselling, is not recognized by the American Psychological Association as a legitimate practitioner, and is not licensed with the State of Minnesota to practice psychology; Marcus Bachmann is a fraud.

Both the American Psychiatric Association and American Psychological Association’s findings on sexual orientation are accepted by the American Medical Association.   The NAR and GOP are working feverishly to rewrite history textbooks and popular psychology books so that their Weltanschauung takes presence over facts, and fiction is elevated to the altar of expediency. Pseudo-historians, such as David Barton, argue that Blacks were happier as slaves than living as free men in poverty, and that homosexuality is a choice and can be discarded like a used tissue.  Revisionist historians that are members of the NAR are now declaring that US Senator Joe McCarthy (R-WI) was a fervent patriot and committed no wrongs or injustices, that all Muslims are evil and working to overthrown Christianity, and similar distortions of the truth.  Far more telling is the NAR and GOP launch of “new history standards” that rebrand conservatives as the champions of Blacks, Latinos, Jews, and even women, and that liberals are the enemy intent on enslaving everyone, with no mention how a few superrich, like the Koch Brothers and Mitt Romney (who is personally worth more than $250 million), are buying elections regularly.  For the first time in over two hundred years of American history and judicial review, corporations are people: a judgment that was issued by venal Supreme Court conservative justices in the pay of the Koch Brothers and financially well-off conservatives intent on ending labor unions.  The US Supreme Court with its NAR judges (Scalia, Thomas, Alioto all who are ethically challenged) is beneath contempt, and it is insane for any rational individual to consider any rulings it makes as authentic, as the Unholy Trinity, joined by Kennedy, have made law a marketable commodity.  This became clear when US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is surprised that he has agreed to participate in a meeting of the so-called “Constitutional Conservative Caucus,” organized by evangelical extremist Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) who is closely tied to End Times (the term “End Times” does not exist in the Bible; it has been misinterpreted in reading by charismatic evangelicals, who cite Isaiah 2:4 and 11:9, with the messiah coming before 2240 CE if one dates the creation of the planet as being 6000 years ago: Babylonian Talmud Rosh Hashana 31a and Sanhedrin 97a, Zohar (1:117a) and Zohar Vayera 119a; among Christians it is a mistranslation of Matthew 24:15-22, Mark 13:14-20, Luke 21:20-33.  Roman Catholics cite 1 Thessalonians 5:2, while mainstream Protestants define End Times based on Matthew 24:7-8, and Mark 13:8: both are mistranslations and misinterpretations as Matthew 24:36 states that no one will know “the hour of my coming” nor are there any special signs to indicate when the world will end.  A lot of this misinformation and bad translations came from the Dallas Theological Seminary in Texas.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints [Mormons] took up the End Times hysteria in the nineteenth century, based on Doctrine and Covenants 88:110.  Islam, also, has an End Times movement, basing its assumption on Qur’an 43:61 when the earth experiences a major quake, the core will break, and the planet become greater: Qur’an 99:1, 69:13-14, 70:8, 84:3-4, 20:105-107, 99:1-6.  Jewish, Christian, and Islamic opinions on Tribulation and End Times are not original with any of the three major faiths, for all borrowed heavily from Zoroastrianism:  Beit-hallahmi, B. (2004). “Death, Fantasy, and Religious Transformations”, Pivan, Jerry S. (2004) The Psychology of Death in Fantasy and History. Westport, CT: Praeger;  “A case study of Brahma Kumaris, a contemporary group characterized by an apocalyptic vision (kept hidden from nonmembers)”; cp. Moazami, Mahnaz. (Winter 2000) “Millennialism, Eschatology, and Messianic figures in Iranian Tradition” Journal of Millennial Studies, Boston, MA: Boston University.   While Hindus reject an End Times, they do argue that there will be a period of unrighteousness that will lead the gods into purifying the mortal race: Bhagavad Gita Chapter IV-7 and lead to the appearance of an Avatar) and NAR, vowing to “return the United States … to its theocratic base”.

Many of those drawn in by the NAR’s talk of reconciliation of religions and of sinners are quite sincere. What this actually means in practice is not what many expect. It’s not actually about hearing out real past grievances — particularly since Christianity itself often had a major role in legitimizing, even perpetrating those grievances in the first place, such as justifying Southern slavery with biblical arguments, as described by Larry E. Tise in his 1987 book, Proslavery: A History of the Defense of Slavery in America, 1701-1840 (Tise, Larry E. (c1987), Proslavery: A History of the Defense of Slavery in America, 1701-1840 (Athens: University of Georgia Press). Christianity played an equally important role in justifying the genocide of Native American people from the early colonial period onward, with Native Americans themselves often portrayed as demons.   Reading NAR literature shows it to be only rhetoric of reconciliation that is opposite the actions of the NAR / Tea Party actions.  What the NAR has done is started a de facto culture war.

In a guide to Talk2Action’s articles on the NAR, put together last October, Tabachnick wrote that “they literally demonize religions outside of evangelicalism, including burning of Mormon, Catholic and Native American artifacts, and excursions in which they claim their ‘spiritual warfare’ supernaturally damages icons and infrastructure of other faiths.” Only the NAR can be “Keeper of the Keys” (with their offshoot evangelical crusaders known as the Promise Keepers that had an annual income of more than $100 million a year, is chauvinistic and refuses women a say by the false claim that the male is superior as judged by their god; membership and income dropped after 1990, with women refusing to “stay in the kitchen, have babies” and be enslaved to their husbands; by 1998, membership and attendance forced the organization to lay off its entire staff; see the Promise Keepers role in “reconciliation” at “Promise Keepers make history with reconciliation rally in D.C.”, Associated Baptist Press, 1997-OCT-5) ruling the USA and all other nations in the name of Jesus who will come to assume his scepter and crown.

NAR Apostles and Prophets Conference

A report from the Trinity Apostolic Prayer Network website describes one such ceremony — held in Olney, Texas, on April 21, 2007 — in which Native American artifacts were destroyed.  The report has since been scrubbed but was saved by Talk2Action researchers. Central to this reconciliation ritual was the destruction of Native American artifacts, which had to be carried out by NAR-designated “representatives” of the Native American people. These were

Mark Wauahdooah

Jay Swallow, a prominent Native American “apostle” and Mark Wauahdooah who was voted out of office as the Comanche Nation Committeeman on April 6, 2011, an NAR-affiliated Comanche. Picking up in the midst of a detailed description, we are told, “Jay then proceeded to lead Mark in the smashing of vessels. One vessel depicted the snakelike features of Leviathan, and the other depicted the Sun god, Baal. They were placed in trash bags, and Mark used a dogwood rod presented to Jay by Chuck Pierce to destroy the pottery. It shattered into many pieces at the joyous shouts of the body of Christ. Tom Schlueter, as an apostolic leader of the region, was invited by Jay and John to lead the group through the Divorce Decree. (He was later told by “the Lord” to open the gates of Texas, by going through Comanche Portal which was to become an open door, to prepare for the revolution to avenge “the atrocities against the Native Americans – especially the Comanche Nation). Judgment was declared. The divorce was finalized. A crystal gavel (presented to Tom by Chuck Pierce) was used to declare the judgment…” Not one Anglo-American artifact was destroyed, as NAR considers Anglo-American artifacts holy have been created by “original” Christians.   No NAR member or official bothered to ask any Native American for his or her thoughts, for Native Americans are not considered to be “white people, like Jesus”.  The Jesus of the New Testament would not have been a caucasian; instead this Jesus would have been a Semitic Caucasian (olive-toned skin); if those who study the Bible use Revelation/Apocalypse 1:15, the author’s Jesus would have been dark-skinned, and have white hair (1:14) both which come from the Babylonian lore found in Daniel 7:9.  He would have been old–not 33 at the time Bible writers claim he died.  Most early theologians, such as Justin Martyr, insisted that Jesus was physically unprepossessing, with “no beauty that we should desire him”, following Isaiah 53:2.  Celus states that Jesus was “short and ugly” in his Λόγος Ἀληθής (about Origen, and Origen did not criticize his pictorialization of Jesus) in 177 CE.

The NAR leaders endorsing Perry’s prayer event had nothing to say to Native Americans who saw such acts of cultural destruction as a continuation of past hostility, even genocide, as those actions were acceptable and excusable in the process of reconciliation. Reconciliation, according to the NAR means that those outside of the Chosen had to give up their heritage and everything they have held dear for generations and accept and adopt that which the NAR believes is “worthy.”  Native Americans, the NAR mused, had to understand that before they came to Jesus Christ they were possessed by demons!  To cleans them of their forefathers’ sin, they had to suffer and watch Christians smash still more artifacts, the same way that Pat Robertson declared that the Haitians were punished with hurricane winds that destroyed their homes and villages—and would have to suffer again until the NAR’s vengeful, hate-filled god was satisfied that their spirit was broken and they would submit to the rule of Jesus in the same way as Muslims submit to Islam. “The beatings will continue until morale improves.” That is the logic? intelligent reporters to ask.

NAR propaganda has no proof, yet people believe in it—in desperation. USA citizens are especially vulnerable, with the collapsing economy that began its downward spiral in 2002 with the wrongful war in Iraq.

As depression set in, people began to seek alternative forms of life and worship—with many traditional churches rejecting innovations and seeking a return to a legendary past where all was allegedly tranquil. For this reason, many of the conservative churches, including within the Episcopal community turned to the ultra conservative branches in Africa where the bishops and archbishops are not well-educated but preach a literal interpretation of the Bible that gives comfort to those felt betrayed by the advances in science and psychology. To this end, many Assemblies of God and other Pentecostal movements turned to African preachers who were either self-ordained or ordained by others whose credentials are suspect. For example, consider the case of Kenyan witch-hunter Thomas Muthee who claimed he could cure diseases, discover and destroy witches, determine who would be the best candidate for political office, and detail how government should be run and on what budget.

Flying from Kenya to Alaska, Muthee called out Sarah Palin for a special anointing.  A video of Muthee anointing Sarah Palin came to light during the 2008 campaign, but little of the background involved made it into the corporate media or other sources save for YouTube that even exposes “holy laughing” that is popular in Australia and Palin brought it to Alaska and attends when she was in Juneau.

Far from being an obscure backwoods figure, Muthee was one of the stars of a 1999 video, the first in the Transformations series, a pseudo-documentary series advancing strategic-level spiritual warfare that is advertised as having been seen by 200 million people in 70 languages.  Muthee’s reputation was reputedly established by vanquishing a Kenyan “witch” around 1990, as recounted in that video.  This lead to a spiritual, moral and cultural revival, with plummeting crime rates and joy for all.  There’s just one problem: It’s not true. The vanquished “witch” was (and still is) actually a rival preacher. She did not leave her home nor her church. In fact, she never went anywhere. On October 15, 2008, a leading British newspaper, The Telegraph, ran a story datelined Nairobi by Nick Wadhams, with the headline reporting “False claims exposed of Kenyan pastor who protected Sarah Palin from witches”. The article contained this information: “In fact, Mama Jane never left. She is a pastor just down the road from Muthee’s Word of Faith Church.” Mama Jane commented: “Muthee is saying that this was a place of witch doctors. Where do you see the witch?” asked Mama Jane, whose real name is Jane Njenga.” Further down, Wadham wrote, “Rival pastors in Kiambu now denounce Muthee for his treatment of Mama Jane: ‘You cannot make personal gain on crucifying a woman,’ said an ally of Mama Jane, Pastor Gideon Maina. ‘As a man of God, you don’t make your name by stepping on other people’s names.’” Nor were Muthee’s claims of dramatic quality-of-life improvements backed up by facts, either. Indeed, a nine-page 2002 letter from a Dutch Christian work group “Back to the Bible” found numerous factual problems in the various segments of the first two “Transformations” videos that had been released at the time. Regarding Muthee’s claims, they wrote:

“We are told in the video that this area had the worst reputation in the land and was full of violence and rape. But this is not backed up by police reports, authorities of justice or any other official source. There are also no official reports of reform because of the “revival.” We do realize that often things work differently in an African land, so we consulted the magazine “Internationale Samenwerking” (International Co-operation) of the Dutch Ministry of development aid. In this paper, there is no report of a decline in crime during the last years in Kenya.”

When various Christian groups argue against NAR, it asks the question:  Is the NAR “Christian”? Other conservative Christians, especially Pentecostals including Assemblies of God have been highly critical of NAR doctrines and practices. Both NAR doctrines and practices have repeatedly labeled as “unbiblical.” An extensive critique can be found in the 2002 book Strategic Level Spiritual Warfare: A Modern Mythology? by Bishop Michael Reid, who has three degrees from Oral Roberts University (none of any value, as a degree from ORU is equal to one from Bob Jones University where religiosity is more important than academic learning), including an honorary Doctorate of Divinity, and a gay sex scandal (his conservative website Christian Congress for Traditional Values went down almost immediately after the news broke) just like Wagner’s long-time close associate, Ted Haggard, as well as rape. Other critical voices from conservative Christians can be easily found online, repeating many of the same criticisms. Wagner brags that the NAR is the most significant change in how Christianity is practiced since the Protestant Reformation, and all critics agree — except, they say, it’s changed so much that it’s no longer consistent with the Bible.

Paul Rosenberg, the Senior Editor of Random Lengths News, published an article on the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and called it the USA version of the Taliban: determined to take over, and to destroy, the world and its artifacts in the same way the Taliban dynamited the great Buddha statues that stood guard along the famed silk route.  The Taliban, like Cronus, ate its own children; so, too, has the NAR that continues to cannibalize its members while fighting to establish a new world order and rewrite history so that it glorifies the NAR and their god.

When it comes to matters that routinely are documented by authorities, the NAR’s record for truthfulness does not warrant any reporter treating them as a reliable source.  The clergy of the NAR have the least credibility and the veracity of their comments doubted. The lack of honesty in the NAR finds few challengers. People are afraid to call “men of faith” liars, and so the lies remain and grow.  Blaming liberals and Democrats for America’s racist past is par for the course in NAR circles. The Republicans (Whigs) were also slave owners, including Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and so forth.

The NAR and its allies rely heavily on self-trained “historian” David Barton, who, along with many others, not just on the religious right, but among conservatives and Republicans more generally, fail to be factual, offer citations as to where they found their information, or substantiate it based on precise interpretation skills requiring knowledge of the time, clime, position and prowess of those they discuss. Barton is among those who fantasize history, especially the history of the USA. He argues, without substantiation, that American colonies and the American nation were established as a Christian entities — a claim that professional historians reject with mountains of evidence to the contrary, not least the 1797 Treaty of Tripoli, which explicitly states, “The Government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.”

Barton’s argument blaming liberals and Democrats for America’s racism depends on a double deception: First, Barton focuses on pre-1960s history, the time period when the national Democratic Party decisively broke with its racist past (although state Democratic parties did not in the southern tier) — and set in motion the long-term decline of its support among Southern whites. The Republicans immediately took advantage of this break between northern and southern Democrats with Barry Goldwater’s candidacy in 1964, when his home state of Arizona was the only non-Southern state the GOP carried. It was a complete reversal of the 1956 election. This minor detail — later cemented into the long-term electoral “Southern Strategy” under Richard Nixon (Boyd, James (May 17, 1970). “Nixon’s Southern strategy: ‘It’s All in the Charts'”. The New York Times. pp. 215) — is completely missing from Barton’s account. A second deception is that Barton presents the impression that racist Democrats (who predominated most heavily in the South) were synonymous with liberals, while anti-racist Republicans were conservatives.

It is true that anti-racist Republicans in the 1960s were the much-maligned “Rockefeller Republicans,” whose movement conservatives worked very hard to drive out of the party, and it was transmogrified into the GOP of Ronald Reagan who plunged the racist stake deep into the breast of the Republican Party, tearing it from the Big Tent he promised that would include everyone for as he said in 1980 “I believe in states’ rights” even if that included murdering teenagers protesting Jim Crow laws, as Reagan was a racist on the order of Trent Lott and the Republicans he brought into Congress (Apple, R.W. Jr. (September 19, 1996). “G.O.P. Tries Hard to Win Black Votes, but Recent History Works Against It”. The New York Times).

Alice Peterson's book

Barton, however, does not go far enough to the right for the NAR, leading the NAR to create its own alternative history. In her book Bridging the Racial and Political Divide: How Godly Politics Can Transform A Nation (self-published under the imprint of Transformational Publications {October 29, 2010}; it is not registered with the Library of Congress, WorldCat, or any other library organization that catalogues books), Texas apostle Alice Peterson (Founder and President of Justice at the Gate in San Antonio, TX) not only ignores the mass exodus of racist whites from the Democratic Party, but asserts a continuity over time based on an “invisible network of evil comprising an unholy structure,” which she then identifies with the biblical figure Jezebel ( אִיזֶבֶל / אִיזָבֶל) (the name would translate as Isabel or Elizabeth c. ninth century BCE) daughter of Ethbaal, King of Tyre (Phoenicia) and the wife of Ahab, king of north Israel, great-aunt of Dido, Queen of Carthage, interpreted not as the human figure she actually is in the Bible (1 Kings 18; in the Syro-Phoenician language Jezebel or Iz-ba’al may mean “the Lord (Ba’al) exists/exalts” and was the name for the “King of Heaven” 1 Kings 18:40), but instead as a demon. Roger Williams, the founder of the colony of Rhode Island, and co-founder and pastor of the First Baptist Church in America, also used the Jezebel story in his The Bloudy Tenent of Persecution for Cause of Conscience, but not in the way of NAR apologists. Williams wrote of Naboth and Jezebel as an example of how God disfavor the use of government force in religious matters. Williams believed using force in the name of religion would lead to political persecution, contrary to the Bible’s teachings, and thus warned his parishioners not to become involved with government—the exact opposite thesis as that of the NAR. This would lead the Danbury Baptists to ask Thomas Jefferson to clarify a wall separating church and state.

Nowhere in Peterson’s account is there any hint that Blacks became Democrats when Democrats renounced their racist past during the civil rights struggles of the 1950s and 1960s, and Republicans eagerly wooed tens of millions of White racist Democrats who fled their party as a result so that by 1984 most Democrats switched to the Republican Party. This was most clearly seen when the last Democrat elected to a Dallas county trial court was John Creuzot in 1992 and then promptly switched parties to continue as a judge. Impressively, this domination continued even during Gov. Ann Richards’ turn in the statehouse. While Richards appointed Democrats to fill empty benches during her tenure (between elections, the governor fills empty district courts, while county commissioners fill vacant county courts) before losing to George W. Bush and his running mate Rick Perry (who was already known to be a closeted homosexual, and aligned himself with NAR and evangelical extremists to stay in power), straight Republican voting picked them off at every election, leading Republican judges in Dallas County to rule against any plaintiff that was known to be a Democrat or Democratic sympathizer.

Alice Peterson

The make-believe “reconciliation” that Peterson writes about has nothing to do with spiritual truth, and everything to do with historical lies: the very foundation of the NAR. This is a typical example of how the NAR reinvents the Bible for their own political purposes, as the same demon has been associated with the Democrats at least since the 1860s and through the days of lying by Rick Perry and NAR.  Simple subjects such as LBJ’s heroic arm-twisting passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act — and Nixon’s race-based “Southern Strategy” to lock up Southern whites for the GOP — are without any historical significance so far as Peterson is concerned, for she has neither the skills, the tools, nor the knowledge to do solid and reliable, verifiable research.  Lest anyone question her too closely, Peterson assures us that she has actually seen the demon Jezebel with her own two eyes — and not only Jezebel, but a few smaller demons beneath her skirt. That may be true, as in the Syro-Phoenician language, Jezebel means “promiscuous” and “promiscuity”.

Read Rosenberg’s rejoinder to the NAR, and enjoy an excellent summary at the Blue Voice.  Jezebel may assuredly be beneath Peterson’s dress.

Well said as usual, however I must take issue with the Palin pregnancy allegations. Trig is her baby, and she probably lied about getting her “tubes tied” for sympathy or to avoid pta duties.

What I would like to know is, why isnt the churh keeping its house (or flock) in order!! I cannot believe the Pope and the vatican sanction these actions and beliefs. Why isnt the Archbishop of Canterberry (who is very liberal minded and even believes in evolution) speaking out against this!
We have a different, less agresive, more sincere christianity in Europe (and mostly the rest of the world… except Africa, which seems to be the place to go for “good American” christians ((or NAR supporters rather)) to take out their violent frustrations and sexual hang ups on the local population). I doubt reading this article will change the minds of any NAR supporters but perhaps if the Pope would denounce NAR and speakout against its mind set perhaps those true followers of Christ would stand up against this evil and stop the hijacking of their religion from right under their noses.

You point out a lot of good and evils here, but do not provide enough nexus between these or any of the groups outside hearsay, relying on a compilation of internet chatter.
Do some more research and bring something more original.

Try reading other articles I wrote on the NAR–and how it has endorsed Rick Perry as being the man who will awaken the sleeping god who naps in the sky so that Jesus will get on his white horse (Jesus has no time for modern technology) and come charging to this earth with a drawn sword leading the four horsement of the Apocalypse (a myth far older than the second century fantasy concocted to be a feature in a collection of tales that Eusebius detailed in the Bible that the emperor Constantine commissioned him to write in 385 CE). Perry wants a full theocracy–not just an oligarchy to control the world, and has poised himself as sitting on the right hand (not to the right of) the warrior Messiah. This is indeed strange, for according to mythology, Jesus was pure–but even Perry’s wife has screamed of his affairs with males, and I wrote how he propositioned me for sex in the 1980s–and published it without even a comment from the man who became governor of Texas.

A blog is to encourage people to read further. For that reason I do cite sources that anyone can find online–but few will take the time to research. My blog has one purpose: to make people think. There is nothing original in prose or poetry–just new and varied interpretations. It is for that reason that the school of writers who created the Jesus myth stole from Homer’s Odysseus the story of the Greek King being called upon by his followers to calm the sea. It is for that reason that the salon of scribes fashioned Samson from the legends of Hercules. Even the Marvel Comics presentation of Superman follows the Jesus illusions: with Kai-El as father, with the name actually meaning “god” (el). To that end Clark Kent was crucified in a field during one episode on television of Smallville. All we can do is attempt to give greater meaning and definition to stories that are constantly rehashed, for as the ancient Etruscans noted: “There is nothing new under the sun.”
